I visited this shop today(08-05-2024) at around 12.45 pm. I usually order their Roti Canai or the Banana Leaf Platter but today I wanted to try their Noodle Dishes so I ordered the Mee Goreng Mamak from their menu. Before ordering this dish I asked the person working in the front of house that if the noodles of this dish would be mixed together with sauce or not because I prefer the noodles to be dry. She confirmed me that the other noodles dish(Kari Laksa) would be soupy but the one that I choose would be dry. So being assured about this I placed my order. After receiving the food I found out that the whole noodles was dipped inside the peanut sauce. I gently asked the lady working at the counter that would it be possible to fix this dish because it is filled with peanut sauce which is completely the opposite of what I was expecting. While I was talking with that lady one of the gentlemen from the shop who was working in the front as well interrupted and rudely said that any modification of the dish will not be possible. Then this gentleman rudely offered me if I would like to change my dish for something else or not. I calmly requested him to give me anything within that price range otherwise I was happy to have the noodles though it was full of sauce. He asked me if I want a dish with rice or not. But I asked him that the rice dish was more costly than the noodle dish so do I need to pay the extra amount or not? Again with the rude tone and excessively bad facial expression that gentleman said that I don’t need to pay extra but after that what he did was really really disrespectful and unprofessional. The noodles that I complained about he threw it badly in the bin just before my eyes and with anger started to pack a new food while making a lot of noise in the food preparation area. He was doing these actions before his colleagues and the other customers who were standing beside and behind me. Then I asked him that why is he being so rude with me?! I also asked him about if he doesn’t care about reviews at all or not? He didn’t answer my first question but about the later one he said that he doesn’t bother about reviews at all. Then immediately he told me to get a refund and leave. So I took the refund and...

Today I ordered nasi goreng for my child and asked for it to be non-spicy. While the staff did say they could make it not spicy, what we were served was essentially plain white rice with some toppings — no flavour, no sweet soy sauce (kecap manis), and uneven salt. It didn’t resemble nasi goreng at all.
When I went back to the counter, I was told this is what I get if I want it non-spicy, because the sweet soy sauce is infused with chilli. While I understand the reason, this should have been made clear before I ordered — I wouldn’t have chosen it if I’d known it would come out like plain rice!!!
In the end, I was given two choices: eat it bland, or add a bit of the sauce but it’d be a bit hit. Since it was completely tasteless, I decided to add a bit of sauce — and it was hot. My child couldn’t eat it, and the dish was left uneaten.
While the staff were calm, I didn’t receive even a simple apology for the inconvenience. I’ve had a much better child-friendly nasi goreng at your White City branch, so I was quite surprised by the experience here. Even if menus differ, I think customers — especially those ordering for children — deserve clearer communication and a bit more care.
It was honestly so surprising and disappointing that I didn’t even think to take a photo — I just couldn’t believe this was what they considered a child-friendly...
Read moreJust had lunch at Gopal's Corner today. Have been going there for months now but today we had their roti canai x3 portions (with dhal, fish and mutton curry). Their curries have improved. Not sure if they are on point today or have vastly improved their recipes for their curries. Got a whole fried fish steak in our fish curry as well. Truly good, much more Malaysian Indian curry flavours, almost like nasi kandar curries now. Rotis and hot teh tariks were on point too. Service was excellent as usual.
Update 28 Sep 2023: Went there for our usual roti canai, teh tarik, and thosai. Food was great as usual. However, the lady serving at the counter told us patronisingly that it is not called Teh Tarik, we should call it Chai next time. Also Thosai should be pronounced as Doh-sa, not Tho-say. Lastly it is called Paratha, not Roti Canai. This lady server/cashier should not correct regular customers like us on the pronunciations of food printed on their own menu. If this lady has a problem with how or what Malaysians call our Malaysian Indian food, please take it up with your big boss and his printed menu. Don't ruin a good meal out for...
