a most mesmerizing & romantic bar in the midst of the bustling hyde park corner- i was initially greeted by a set of gracefully-arranged grecian-inspired floral pillars & was kindly welcomed by the porters. following the timely process of the reservation allocation system & internal staff members, i had been led to the library bar to order a beautiful blooming wallflower mocktail alongside sparkling non-alcoholic spirit & zesty lemonade- with crispy fries & rich chocolate mousse, which were all delectable & perfectly presented in the truly authentic style of the lanesborough.

the incredible gradient rose + book installation by early hours london ltd aptly titled “the love nook” was the primary highlight of the night, with each detail adding to the classically literary environment of the library bar.

the main lobby further featured a stunning floral arrangement for valentine’s day… consisting of charming vintage scarlet roses & pale pink snapdragons {with refreshing eucalyptus & dimensionally grandiose birch branches}, complemented by a chic array of parrot tulips & peruvian lilies which was entirely exquisite for a modish floral lover like myself~

i recommend this spot as a faultlessly luxurious bar, consistently highlighting its gorgeous liquid offerings & uniquely awestriking displays by london’s most...

A Hidden Gem!

The Library Bar is an absolute treasure! We met up with our friends for drinks who came from NY, and the experience was nothing short of magical. The moment we walked in with our two dogs, we knew we were in for something special. First off, the atmosphere is incredible. It's like stepping into a luxurious living room where you can relax and unwind. But what really blew us away was how they treated our dogs. The staff went above and beyond, rolling out the red carpet for our four-legged friends. They provided comfy bed, fresh water, and even treats! Our pups were living their best lives, getting so much love and attention from both staff and other guests. The cocktails were expertly crafted and beautifully presented,. What sets the Library Bar apart is their incredible hospitality. They made us and our furry friends feel like VIPs. It's rare to find a place that's both upscale and so welcoming to pets. If you're looking for a unique spot to enjoy fantastic drinks in a dog-friendly bar then look no further. The Library Bar has set a new standard for us and we'll always look forward...

Lost its charm....its a shame. The Lanesborough library bar was a stalwart proper cocktail bar in every way. Then it was ripped out and replaced with an identical build!! Just now, the german Oetkar group who manage it, have paired it with the pretentious but fun Eden Rock which they also manage in St Barth. The London bar is fun but amateurish with service, and I hope that the staff are pop up, like the bar! From this afternoon's experience, no guests have stayed at the Eden Rock nor even been to St Barth and would probably struggle to put a pin in the destination, despite its proximity to America and its "glamour" status 🤣! We have been there, done that, and actually St Barth is on the go back to list along with Antigua, St Lucia and Anguilla. Sorry, scores of other islands!! So despite the USA hosting (!!) of guests in the bar, it was an OK place to have a drink but it needs to up its game to regain its place a a serious in town cocktail bar. I hope it does this as its my wife's and my daughter's favourite London hotel. Woe betide them if it stays like it is on 3rd...

Arrived just before 8pm on a Saturday. It was quite busy but they were able to seat me immediately at the bar. Note there's a minimum spend of €15 per person after 7:30pm. They start you off with a small tin of mixed nuts. They had a lot of fun looking cocktails but I was there for their seasonal Noughts and Crosses drink created for Belgravia in Bloom, a gin drink with lemon juice, elderflower, basil, and ginger. On top of the drink they create a 3x3 grid and provide some flowers so you can play noughts and crosses or tic-tac-toe. It took a bit of time to get my drink but it was fun to watch the bartenders make other drinks, including one that had fire poured on it. They initially provided me with some smaller flower petals before those were taken away and I was given a couple larger flowers. The drink itself was very good and as it was listed as a mellow drink I didn't feel tipsy after having it.

On my way home from a conference, I decided to have some tea. I dropped into the Peninsula London and politely waited to be seated. The place was almost empty. The check in lady said she would seat me, but then kept tapping away at her iPad for ages, ignoring me. I left. Instead I walked into the Library Bar and Withdrawing Room around the the corner, at the inestimable Lanesborough Hotel at Hyde Park Corner. What a dramatic difference! A warm, smiling welcome by the check in lady despite being busy. She knew the % blend of Assam in their House Blend, organised immediate service of delicious tea and biscuits and charged my phone. Giorgio and Paola were attentive and told me all about the restaurant menu so I will come again. I felt soothed and at home - it reminded me of the welcome at my Club and had beautiful and historic decor.
