Save your time and your money. I wish I had. After reading the positive reviews below and believing the hype, I visited Lorne to my eventual regret.
The quality to price point is miles off, the alternatives available in London are far superior, Portland as an example.
The starters lacked flavour, the foie gras undetectable, the mains small by any standard and lacking flavour. The strawberry tart dessert solely justifying the score attached to this review.
The service was far from reflective of an establishment trying to make an impression in the current restaurant climate. With staff being trained next to our table, the volume so loud they interrupted our own conversation. We had to flag the disturbance, only then did the staff move and attempt to show some professionalism.
The bottle of wine was incorrectly brought out with the wrong year. Food was presented with a pathetic attempt at a description, a lamb dish arriving with a simple, “this is the lamb". At an establishment with reviews showing high praise I was significantly disappointed by the lack of attention to detail.
After several emails with the the owner, he conveniently failed to respond when I requested a refund on a wasted evening. I felt this was warranted given the experience however to my dismay, was not acknowledged or offered. Had this been any other product or service, this would be granted.
There are plenty of restaurants in London which deserve custom over Lorne, especially at the price point. It is worth venturing more central for finer options. This is by far the worst and most disappointing dining experience I’ve experienced after being initially excited by...

Read moreAbout a week and a half ago my partner and I had the most amazing dinner here. He brought me here as a surprise for my birthday and the whole evening was perfect. We came at 17:30 and the hostess immediately asked if we were going to a show, which we were, and assured us we would be out on time, which we also were. She was really lovely and welcoming.
I was a little daunted by the wine list at first, as I don't know that much about wine, but the gentleman who served us guided me through it really thoroughly and made excellent recommendations based on what I was eating. I had two different glasses and they were both fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable and patient!
The food was absolutely stunning. I started with the sea bream tartare which was one of the best things I've ever eaten. The fish was so delicate, and the kohlrabi delightfully crunchy. It was so well balanced, I would come back just for that alone. I followed it with the guinea fowl dish which was delicious and homely and comforting, and which I was so excited to eat that I forgot to take a picture. Lastly I finished with the Paris brest which was summery and creamy and fresh.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. The staff are amazing, the atmosphere is cosy, and the food and...
