I went to this restaurant today and was hoping to eat their traditional cuisine. On the menu the dish I wanted (Tortellini) was only available in the “ special traditional” version, which, if you ask anyone from Bologna it’s served in a broth. I ask the waiter THREE times if “special traditional” meant cooked in a broth. Three times and he replied yes to all three. We have our starteds which are ok, and then we get our food. Except the “broth” tortellini are covered in Bolognese sauce. Firstly, it is not what they said the dish consisted of, and then it’s also by no means traditional. I tell the waiter who, and I’m quoting, says: “I’m sorry miss, it was my mistake communicating with the kitchen”. He says if I am willing to wait more for the dish it can be remade, to which I say yes. Another waiter comes back less than 10 minutes after and they say there is no such thing as a broth option, to which I reply their own waiters are saying there is. Turns out there isn’t and my only option is to stick to that dish or order something else. Nothing else on the menu caught my attention so I just asked them to take my plate away and let us eat (or better, let my friend eat). They kept coming back asking if I wanted to order something else or if I wanted to speak with the chef when all I wanted was just to be left alone and enjoy my day out with my friend. They were quite insisting and not very applogetic about what happened, to the point we got annoyed and just asked to leave. Even at that point they asked if I wanted something else, and at this round I probably sounded quite direct and abrasive but I just told them to bring us a bill and a take away box so we could JUST leave. Besides, the quality of the food isn’t even too good (my friend’s lasagne was not great, as she says the cheese smelt off and it was quite overpowering). I also think it is unbelievable that there was not ONE Italian speaking waiter, not that I have issues talking in English, but having someone knowing Bologna’s gastronomy so to mediate with customers. Overall not a nice experience, waiters were not rude but not even aware of the menu, did not communicate well with kitchen or among themselves. Not...
Read moreAVOID. AWFUL. FOOD POISONING RISK FOR VEG PEOPLE. . I don't usually give places a review if I find that it's below 3 stars. This one... For me, deserved a negative star, if it exists. I am a vegan and have been a vegetarian (religious reasons) and never eaten meat in my life. They initially told me that my pasta had egg so they offered me another dish. I said yes, I was happy for them to give me anything vegan.
My pasta came late, most of my team (I had recommended this place) had eaten over half of their food... Upon eating.. I tasted something unfamiliar which made need to take what I was eating out of my mouth.... upon examining I was told by colleagues that it was BACON. Then as I moved the pasta around... I saw more MEAT in my plate.
I'm angry, upset and feel violated. People think it's an over reaction and I understand mistakes... Happen but how the f* ck can you use the same pan to cook pasta for a vegan /vegetarian when there's meet stuck in it!!! I the restaurant wasn't even busy... All the others had their food and the two other covers in the restaurant were just looking at the menu.
THEY TOOK THE PASTA OFF THE BILL BUT STILL HAD THE NERVE TO CHARGE SERVICE. ABSOLUTELY APPALLING.
Forgive my poor punctuation and grammar but I am typing this as quick as possible as I won't to move on from this as I feel sick and have vomited a few times... But more than the physical feeling.... I feel hurt, angry and upset...and i know its not the waiter / managers fault... I didn't swear and remained calm. 10 years ago I wouldn't have been able to keep calm and would have used profanity and had a personal chat with the Chef who didn't have the b4lls to apologise in person.
Sorry if this offends anyone. Actually, scrap that. Not sorry. I will not apologise for...
Read moreI decided to bring my grandmother to the restaurant on a Sunday night. At first it looked really promising, but it is not.
To start with, we ordered our drinks for the APÉRO and our dishes arrived almost at the same time, so we didn’t had time to enjoy our spritz before eating. Then when we saw our dishes ( pretty expensive for what it was), we were a bit surprised by the quantity, which was poor. The food was good but not that good, I think that for the price that we paid it was a lot. Obviously, I am okay with paying a lot for very good food, but this was not worth it at all.
We arrived at 7.45pm and were done eating at 8.10pm as we felt rushed. During the dinner (which was really quick…) the waiter was walking behind us the whole time and it felt like we were being observed while eating. We didn’t appreciated that at all. Finally, I asked for the bill and it arrived 2 minutes after, which might sound good, but we didn’t even had the time to look at it ( we were in a conversation) and the other waitress came in order to proceed to the payment. It felt like we were kicked out of the restaurant so quickly.
I kindly said to the waitress that I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant because of the previous points that I said, and she was not kind at all and didn’t understood our point of view. I was trying to explain clearly and kindly how we felt about this restaurant and we had a really dry answer.
Finally, the waiter who came to take our plates, was not very professional but I don’t blame him, we all have to start somewhere.
So if you want to spend a nice evening I don’t really recommend this place unless you want to eat fast and with...
