We’ve never been to a restaurant like this. Before visiting this establishment, I suggest reading not just my review, but all the others with low ratings. Also check under their old name, "Noorjahan II" which still shows up in this map beside it, and also has even more reviews. After writing my review below, I went back and read all of these others, and I now see they are all saying the same things about the service and charging tricks. Perhaps this place should be reported to the authorities.

So, the food. We ordered Tandoori Chicken, Potatoes with Cauliflower, and some plain rice. First, the rice - instead of leaving us the bowl of rice, he insisted on putting half of the entire bowl on each of our plates.

This is strange. We like to decide how much rice we will have at a time. The Tandoori Chicken was served on a hot sizzling cast iron pan. It was tasty except it was far too salty. Also, Tandoori Chicken is supposed to be cooked in a Tandoor oven, not on a cast iron pan. I don’t think they should be able to use the name “Tandoori" if they do this.

The chicken was ok, but there were many tiny pieces of crushed bone. It had to be eaten very carefully. Either someone abused the poor bird, or the person cooking it was violent. I had to spit out bits of bone several times.

The tiny bowl of vegetables were tasty, but were literally just pieces of potato and cauliflower. No sauce whatsoever. Usually when we get this dish, there is sauce, but not this - we literally had no sauce to put on the heaps of dry rice on our plates. And the bowl was tiny, like a small appetiser salad bowl. A bit of a rip off, as it wasn’t cheap.

So, the food may not be for everyone.

Here’s the part that guaranteed we will not go back. When he brought the bill, and the tap-machine, he said I should leave a cash tip after I tapped. After I tapped, he put the bill-folder back down and looked at me waiting. I ignored him and he left looking a bit angry.

There was already an apparent 10% service charge on the bill, and usually in Britain, servers do not expect tips, especially if there’s already a service charge. They certainly should not request one in cash - this made us very uncomfortable.

Also, according to their menu prices, our bill should have been £26.60, before the one beer I ordered (I don’t remember the beer price on the drinks menu). We were charged £44.25. So presumably, £40.28 before the unmentioned 10% service charge. So a beer is almost £14?

They won’t give you a detailed bill, and you only get to see the amount on the payment device. I believe now that I was scammed.

If you have a sense of humour, check out their website. They claim to have 75 cooks. It makes such claims as "Wonderful environment with Delicia's food". They have three quotes from "customers". One is the co-founder, describing his visit, and how good the food is, and how he hopes to visit again. If you look around the site, the reviewers’ photos change. Steven Spielberg is used for two different faces, one of them a woman. (See photos). The text of their reviews are gibberish. Their social media links do nothing. Their website is a total sham.

I suspect we won’t be going back. We prefer to serve our own rice, and decide for ourselves on any tipping. We desire honesty, like accurate billing, and full disclosure if there’s a service charge. Also, the food was not up to what most Indian...

Easily the worst culinary experience I have had in London by far. Avoid this place! The service was horrendous; staff were rude, slow and distracted. At one bizarre point they started playing music from an iphone which made the ambience (or lack thereof) even worse. The food was okay but, even if it had been exceptional, the service was so bad that I would still be here writing this review.

We arrived at 8pm and were seated in a corner table right next to the stairs and a basket were they had all their napkins. Naturally this meant they were constantly bumping onto us when grabbing a napkin without saying sorry or a simple "excuse me". Immediately, we felt uncomfortable. The waiters were running around, shouting and dropping things. The second they sat us at our table they dropped one of our napkins and stepped on it and didn't even notice. We ordered the food and drinks about 15 minutes later after we finally managed to get the waiter's attention. Even when taking the order they were rude, interrupting us and rushing us at the same time. The drinks took nearly 30 minutes to arrive and the food took nearly 50. Once it arrived, they served it all on two large plates and threw all the rice onto one of the big ones, despite us wanting to share it and serve it at our own pace. I then asked for two small plates and the waiter said no, that I was comfortable with the large plate. I reiterated that I wanted two small plates and the waiter recluctantly brought them whilst swearing under his breath. This interaction left my partner and me incredibly perplexed. In the table next to us, they asked for the bill and it took them 20 minutes to bring it! They brought our bill quite quickly to be fair but then, the waiter who was incredibly rude to us the whole evening, had the gall to ask for a tip on top of the discretionary service charge! He then cursed under his breath again when my partner said no.

An overall horrendous experience. Will never go back and I suggest to anyone reading this that you save this place as one that you should never go to, even for a laugh. The only pro I can think of was that the water was tasty (they serve it with limes and it has a...

i will start with the positives because that’s how it’s done - food was amazing, 10/10, some of the best indian i’ve had in my entire life. fresh baked naan, juicy chicken, amazing sauce. it’s in a nice neighbourhood as well, so bonus points. as for the cons, i’ve never had such poor service in my entire life. when you get there the people just tell you to wait outside for an indefinite amount of time (that being u don’t have a reso), no wait list sheet or anything. while your waiting they seem to have no problem seating the locals, pretty much anyone who doesn’t look american. when a table opens up they just yell “table for _” and it’s first come first serve. extremely rude and distasteful attitudes towards you as well, as if your a burden to them. if you ask for something they don’t even acknowledge you, you just have to pray they do what you asked as they run off. as per the bill, they will try and scam you by not telling you a tips included in it, and force you almost to tip. “you will pay me cash for tip” is a direct quote before saying anything else. then after i asked him if tips included he said it was but only 10%. in my opinion people so uncultured and disrespectful don’t even deserve that much. needless to say i left without tipping. if you can get over poor service, i’d...

This was my first time eating Indian food so I don't have anything to compare this too. I ordered the #2 appetizer Sorry. (seekh kabob, chicken Tikka, and onion bahjee), spicy chicken Tikka masala, and a cobra lager. The staff was great. I left my sunglasses on the table and the waiter chased me 2 blocks to give them to me. That the staff in a nutshell. The appetizer was tasty, especially the bahjee. The pastry was light and crispy. The medium spice Tikka masala was the correct spice for me. It was as spicy as something in the US that would be called "hot" rather than "medium". Err on the side of medium unless you like very spicy food. The rice was well cooked and had a floral flavor. The food was just good.

If I am in London, this is my favourite Indian since the Indian Diner shut on Rochester Row. Fabulous food, great people too. We asked to ramp up the heat this time and it was perfect. Thanks Humayun and the team. For anyone who likes a few drinks followed by an Indian meal then the Victoria pub over the road is a great place to start.
