Loved this place, visited last week, had a pizza(very nice) and the Nutella dough balls, way too much but so worth it, there was some sort of a challenge one guy tried to eat like a metre long pizza and mac and cheese in 15 minutes, was very entertaining seeing Him fail, beers are very good and loved the fact there's like a beer tasting station where one of the stuff serves tasters of the resident and guest beers explaining how they are made and what they taste like. Bar is stylish and there are two massive beer tanks storing their house beer, it's mainly meantime which great because it's one of my favourite London breweries Service was swift and professional, was good to see the staff and management smiling at work, shows that the venue is fun not only for customers. There was a young Blond manager who was super friendly end explained to us what's tank and paddle is about as well as pointing out their extensive list of board games and the show stopper the shuffle board. We tried the shuffle board game, it was a first time for me and once we got our heads around the rules it was super fun. Overall it was a great experience and me and my work friends will come back many many more times, as long as we book a table as the place...
Read moreI normally love this place - I take all my colleagues and friends there for lunch. However today there was a mix up with our table and the table next to us, pizza's were being delivered to the wrong table. At the end of our lunch we were offered a free round of drinks - not the other table who also experienced the mishap - just us. When the drinks were brought to our table another waitress came rushing over whispered something into the ear of the waitress bringing the drinks, the drinks which we were offered were then swiftly removed from our table and taken back to the bar where we saw the barmaid/waitress POUR the drinks back into the bottles. Our table were clearly not worthy of the offered drinks and the other table had already left. A completely embarrassing situation on behalf of the staff at Tank and Paddle. The staff are obviously incompetent and cannot cope with the volume of customers. To offer free drinks then take them back is ridiculous, embarrassing and terrible customer service. Our table was as inconvenienced as the other table. I will not be going back there again now and have told this story to as many people as...
Read moreWent there for a group meetup over the weekend.
Nice place, stands out a bit from the other places I've visited. Everyone I spoke to said to try the Pizzas and while they did look the peice, I decided to get food elsewhere.
As for why this review is rated two stars, it's two things
The first is the price. I get that London isn't cheap, but when I clocked that a pint of coke was the roughly the same price as a pint of cider: it was unsettling to learn. If you couldn't tell: this place is not cheap for drinks. You're looking to sell a tooth to get a glass of water if you know what I mean.
As for the second point, as much as I'm happy to pay for those kind of prices to support the business and event: majority of staff there was miserable. Most didn't talk, very much gave the vibe that they didn't want to be there spite their customer base being friendly and polite when I was at the bar. There was only one who was kind and had a smile on her face in comparison to the other two, so cudos to her.
Overall two stars, would go again but I'll be leaving drinks to outside and my words not...
