Came in as I was visiting the garden then noticed they have this restaurant so I wanted to look around it to bring my husband here for a date but unfortunately I would NOT RECCOMEND. The place itself looked beautiful and the menu looked promising but be prepared to be judged HEAVILY by a rude receptionist called Chara. I came in and said "hi there is it possible to have a look around?" in which I got the dirtiest look up and down which proceeded with a response of "I'm sorry that's not possible at the moment.". I can completely understand not being able to enter properly unless you've got a reservation or are coming in to eat, not a problem at all, but the judgemental attitude with the dirty look up and down before answering is not a good sign or a great first impression of a place you would be looking to spend (a lot) of your money on to pay a horrible staff member. The only reason this isn't a one star review is because the manager was really nice. Although this could've been avoided entirely. I had to ask the bar staff for the manager as I was met with the exact same response as above from the receptionist which followed with even more horrible scanning me from my head to my toes so they really need to get a better staff member for the front door, attitude over looks, if they want their potential customers to feel respected (The whole interaction below) Me while smiling "hi there is it possible to have a look around" Receptionist looks me up and down "I'm sorry that's not possible at the moment" I laugh at the judgement and start walking away to which I am met with her looking me up and down again with the rudest expression so I come back and ask what's her name to leave a review so people are aware then she responds "you don't need to know that" so I kindly ask again so I can warn people on here before they come she responds with "I won't tell you" Me "Okay then can I speak to your manager then" Chara "That's not possible at the moment" Me "Okay then I will just wait here until he arrives then" (I really wasn't in a rush) after a few minutes I get completely sick of her continuing to look me up and down as I'm standing there (from the start of our interaction to now to which I even asked her at some point while I was waiting to stop doing that although I don't know if she did as from facing her sideways I face away from her so) I ask the bar staff in the middle if I can ask to speak to their manager to whom I explain the situation above which he is very understanding of then says he will speak to her which hopefully he does hopefully it works but then because now the manager is there as I'm leaving she says "Thanks" to show some good side of her after showing her real side unacceptable go to Sky Garden instead to dine their staff is...

I honestly don’t know where to start. Apologies as this will probably be long. My partner had taken me out for date night to the 14hills and upon walking in alone, the scenery, the aesthetic & the ambience gave a warm, cozy vibe which was much appreciated because who doesn’t want to feel at home! The food was also amazingly delicious. For the starters my partner had ordered the ā€œjerk quailā€ which is served on a sliced pineapple. We were VERY apprehensive seeing jerk on the menu especially being from Jamaican descent BUT we can confirm there’s definitely a Caribbean hiding in their kitchen somewhere because that quail was definitely tasting authentic and for someone who hasn’t had quail before it was a nice introduction and the sweetness of the pineapple compliments the spice from the jerk sauce really well. I unfortunately got too excited with trying new things and orders the Gazpacho or like my partner like to say ā€œa la a ya businessā€ LOL because I saw strawberry & tun fool because it was basically olives, pickles and tomatoes in a strawberry sauce. Our mains were 10/10! My partner got the Sirloin & potatoes but he added the jerk sauce from his starter to his steak, Banging! I had the sea bass. The skin was so nice and crispy and the prawns & peas were so soft and well cooked, absolutely no complaints & for dessert my partner ordered the chocolate fondant with the raspberry sorbet, they work really well together if you like chocolate. In all my life I’ve never tried a creme brĆ»lĆ©e & I can now say I understand the hype from all those years ago because it was so sweet and the vanilla just popped! I almost forgot about the pistachio ice cream, that just put it all together with the caramelised top. But most of all I’d like to show a big big appreciation for our server TOBIAS! He made our experience so effortless and easy going, Tobias had the answers to all our questions before we had even asked, he covered everything clearly from top to bottom ! Complimented and advised us on all our choices and options. And He made sure our glasses were never empty. As much as the food was nice, If it weren’t for Tobias, I don’t think our experience would have been half as good! Would...

My partner booked this restaurant for my birthday last night and it wowed from the start. We first went up to the garden and the views blew my mind. Upon entry to the restaurant, the friendly hostess asked right away whose birthday it was and wished me a happy birthday, before seating us. All plus points so far! The waiter who came over, handed us a drinks menu with food menu on the table in front of us. I had to eventually ask for a wine menu to be brought over. We ordered a bottle of wine and 2 cocktails. The cocktails arrived shortly after, the wine came much later, after our starter had been cleared. Our waiter did not ask us if we wished more drinks, after clearing our empty cocktail glasses during our starter, or indeed at any point there on. We ordered our mains and individually stated our wish for a side of chips with my addition of green beans. Only one chips arrived with the main courses. After an exceedingly long time of sitting with empty plates, they were cleared and we were asked if we wished desserts. Truthfully up to this point, the food was delicious. However, the custard tart was very simple and neither myself or my Italian partner could detect a pistachio flavour in his pistachio ice cream. Our plates were cleared and after quite a wait and several attempts to get our waiters attention, who was cleaning the tables in his almost empty section by this point, we asked for the bill, paid on receipt and left without a thank you or goodbye from our waiter. In fact, I’m not convinced he even noticed one of the three tables he had remaining actually leave. Overall, the place looks beautiful and our starter and main course’s fantastic. Our experience was seriously let down, by a very apparent and underwhelming lack of presence or attention to detail from our waiter. I believe another waiter could have continued what was an incredible first impression, right through to the end of our not inexpensive visit.

As an aside, I see multiple photos here of guests with little birthday cakes from the restaurant. Given the hostess knew about my birthday, I certainly did not receive the same generosity. Lack of consistency, perhaps...
