Disastrous Experience

To start, It was disheartening to receive pints of warm beer that were far from being refreshing. It's common knowledge that a properly chilled pint can make all the difference in enjoyment, and it's utterly unacceptable for a pub to overlook such a fundamental aspect of their service and the bartender's inability to fill two pints equally was truly astonishing.

Adding insult to injury was the attitude of the staff. Their rudeness and lack of friendliness were appalling. When I kindly asked if we could try a sample of a particular beer before committing to a full pint, the response was unnecessarily curt and impolite. I understand that some beers may be pricier, but there are ways to communicate this information respectfully and considerately. Instead, I was met with dismissive rudeness that left a bitter taste in my mouth.

The overall experience was tarnished by the unwelcoming atmosphere created by the staff. It felt as though we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. Their lack of basic courtesy and professionalism was evident.

It is my sincere hope that the management takes these concerns seriously and addresses the numerous shortcomings. Until then, I strongly advise against patronizing this establishment if you seek a pleasant and hospitable pub experience. There are 100's of good places in London with friendly staff who can serve with a smile.

Ps: Just an update. I have replied to you guys over the email on your response. And no I'm not a tourist, been living here for a decade, have been going to breweries and pubs for years now to learn about English ales and I...

Prices are a bit too much in my opinion, but it is central London so, there's not much to argue about unfortunately. Still, good selection of beers. I went in on a hot day, the place was full and unfortunately they only had seats downstairs, next to the toilets and some 2nd bar that was not being used. It has a weird vibe downstairs. Luckily the staff was nice enough to let me know when seats became available upstairs and, eventually, even outside. When we finally made it to the outside seating area, it wasn't as has as it was before, but was still nice of them. The only bad experience was having a staff every 5 minutes coming over asking us if we were ok, in a clear act of pushing us to other more drinks or leave to give seats to someone else. I'm not a fan of booking time windows when going to a pub, but it definitely feels better and more natural and easily acceptable by the customer than having someone coming over every 5 minutes. If I'm not ok, I will go inside and say "hey, I'm not ok, can I have another drink?". People aren't shy, if they're not ok they will come...

A lovely little pub on the corner just a short walk from Tottenham court road.

Quickly popped in on the way back to the station to rehydrate and beat the commuters on the train. So I only stopped for a half with the baby. The staff were very kind and friendly and helped get the door so I manhandled the inconvenient travel system through the door. Be warned if you are coming in with people with limited mobility there is a small step to get on in and the doors aren't the widest.

The beer selection is second to none. More beers than you could shake a stick at.

I didn't venture downstairs but I believe there is another bar down there as well. Up top there are about 6 tables with 2 - 4 seats at each and seating on the wall looking out on to the street for people watching. I imagine if busy it will get a little cramped but perfect at 3 on a Wednesday afternoon.

Popped in on the way back from the British Museum and since it was around 3pm on a Monday, it was quiet. Nice set up with a long bar stretching the length of the place and stools facing out the windows around the rest. Amazing selection of beers on tap (about 40 from a quick count). Opted for a Tradewinds (a Citrus wheat pale) and got a lovely pint. If I can make on criticism, it's that the atmosphere was creepy. There is no music, which I do get because I lot of real ale places don't believe in piped in music but when the place is dead with only a half dozen older guys sitting in silence, sometimes a little music, radio, TV can help. This is just my observation, it hasn't affected my rating.
