Golden Tours is undoubtedly London’s foremost sightseeing company, offering an exceptional experience from start to finish. My partner and I recently had the pleasure of using their service, with pick-up conveniently located at Bus Stop 8, Buckingham Palace Road, Victoria SW1W 9SZ. The day’s tour was expertly led by Mark, our guide, with Mario as the driver – together known as "M&M." Their teamwork and professionalism made the experience even more memorable.
The company offers a variety of packages, and we opted for the green wrist ribbon, the second most expensive option, which provided an extensive London tour. The top-tier package, represented by a white wrist ribbon, even includes a Buckingham Palace tour. Our package included a panoramic tour of London, entry to St Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham Palace & Changing of the Guard, along with transportation in an air-conditioned luxury coach.
Upon boarding the coach, we noticed how clean and well-maintained it was, equipped with back-of-the-headrest infotainment systems that provided details about the tour and Golden Tours’ services. Mark’s expertise as a tour guide was evident from the start. He took his time explaining the historical significance of each location we visited, offering insights that enriched the experience. He truly brought the sights to life with his in-depth knowledge and engaging storytelling.
The entire tour lasted about seven hours, and we covered numerous iconic locations throughout London. One standout feature was the refreshments provided – a thoughtful touch that included a pack with an apple, burger, Seabrook crisps, wafers, and other snacks, making the day even more enjoyable.
While Golden Tours delivered on their promises, the one area for improvement would be offering an option to return guests to the original pick-up point. Being my first time in London, navigating the city was a bit challenging after the tour ended at the Tower of London. A return service would greatly enhance the convenience for first-time visitors or those unfamiliar with the city.
Overall, my experience with Golden Tours was fantastic, and the professionalism of Mark and Mario made it all the more special. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a comprehensive and engaging London...
Read moreI recently went on a Bath and Cotswold trip with Golden Tours, accompanied by my family and a friend's family. Given the size of our group, we were looking forward to a smooth and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, the trip fell far short of expectations.
While the location was convenient, with the pickup spot near Victoria being ideal, the problems began as soon as our guide, Eileen, arrived. From the start, she was unprofessional, rude, and shockingly unenthusiastic. Her negative attitude dampened the mood, and she even resorted to yelling at guests for minor things like not standing in a straight line. Her tone throughout the day was dismissive, and at times, her behavior bordered on discriminatory.
Communication was another major issue. Her voice was too soft to be heard at the back of the bus, and the speakers weren’t functioning properly. Even when we could hear her, her monotone delivery made the information difficult to engage with. Additionally, her accent was hard to understand, which only added to the frustration.
The restrictions she imposed were excessive. Important phone calls were not allowed, and eating on the bus—despite having little time to do so elsewhere—was prohibited. It felt unnecessarily strict, especially for a long day of travel. The trip itself felt rushed, with barely enough time to appreciate the beautiful towns we were supposed to explore. The tight schedule left no room for a proper meal, adding to the discomfort.
The bus was also poorly equipped—tiny seats made for an uncomfortable ride. It seemed like the tour was designed to rush us from one point to another with little regard for guest experience. At the end, Eileen offered strawberries before requesting reviews, which came across as an attempt to soften the overwhelmingly negative experience.
While Bath and the Cotswolds are stunning destinations, Golden Tours had no part in that. The trip was poorly organized, poorly led, and a complete waste of money. I would not recommend this tour to anyone looking for an...
Read moreBooked the Christmas Lights open top bus tour 16th Nov for my sisters 60th and 4 friends visiting me from the North It was rubbish and not worth £32 pp and they need to come up with a new route that shows some of London's landmarks. We headed off from London eye drove through boring Victoria then around the wall of Buckingham palace back garden, up park lane then joined Oxford Street at Marble Arch. Spent 45 minutes crawling down the shopping street that died a decade ago with no decent retailers show cases xmas displays (only selfridges) then onto regent st, which was the highlight. Then we whizzed around piccadilly then crawled around Trafalgar sq with no tree then the strand was boring. Waterloo bridge obviously nice then we were back at the eye Better Christmas lights around Sloane sq Chelsea and harrods and natural history museum Also Fortnam on piccadilly Anyway think twice about this tour it doesn't showcase London's best area's and building's And when l complain their customer service was bad and generic response and only an...
