I have never eaten Atis salads before so I thought I would try a caesar salad. I was horrified to find a quarter of the way in, a live slug was moving around in my salad.
Not only is this absolutely disgusting, but slugs can carry parasites such as rat lungworm which could make me fatally ill. I dread to think of what would have happened if I didn't spot it. I'm not sure if I already consumed one but I will not be eating anything this afternoon as I feel sick even thinking about it. I will be in touch with Atis if I fall ill.
I obviously took the salad straight back and showed the manager Andre the bowl. I asked his colleague to give me a refund which they issued right away. They offered me a voucher but I declined - I don't trust that they are washing their food properly. Andre explained that their produce is from Spain and is washed here in store. I highly doubt they are cleaning the produce at all if they missed something like this. Andre took my contact details and I've issued a formal complaint, in which I expect compensation.
I will not be purchasing anything from Atis again and have warned my friends and family about this incident. I’ve researched into this and found that the parasite the slugs carry, rat lungworm, can spread to the brain and cause meningitis, neurological deficits and even death. This is absolutely terrifying and it is their duty of care as a caterer to prevent this from...
Read moreFor the past several months, I have been a loyal customer at Atis, where I have been enjoying their daily lunches due to its convenient proximity to my workplace. However, I must express my deep disappointment as I confront the harsh reality that the quinoa carb option, which I have grown fond of, has been unceremoniously eradicated from the menu. Instead, they have chosen to replace it with the lackluster alternatives of white rice or soba noodles.
To say that I am perplexed by this decision would be an understatement. Quinoa, a grain beloved for its versatility, was an exceptional accompaniment to many of the delectable sides and hot toppings offered at Atis. Now, with this substitution, my enthusiasm for their salads has drastically waned, leading me to reduce my weekly visits from approximately five times a week to a meager one visit at most. Why would they choose to replace such a superb lunchtime option, renowned for its delightful taste, satisfying nature, and compatibility with a wide array of toppings, with an inherently inferior product that can only be suitable for a limited selection of topping combinations?
This sentiment is not exclusive to me alone; it is shared by my colleagues, whose numbers have significantly dwindled in terms of their visits to Atis, primarily due to the disappointing reduction in portion...
Read moreI visited yesterday before getting my coach back home. After a long day walking around, I wanted something delicious and nourishing for my early dinner. After looking online for salad bars, I chose this place and I'm so glad I've discovered it! Such a great little tucked away spot, super convenient for travel. It was hard to pick between options, but I went for the You'd Feta Believe It. Absolutely delicious, very filling and the combination of tastes and textures was top notch. Staff were friendly and pleasant. The only downside was when I said I'd like to sit in, the member of staff said it would cost more, so I grimaced and said that was fine, but then they waived the fee and said it was ok, I didn't need to pay it. So that was a bit confusing - I was disgruntled as the additional cost wasn't listed on the menu up front, so I think this should be made clear from the out set (I still don't know how much extra it is) so people know at the time of purchase. It's a nice environment to sit in, quiet but calm with a toilet which again is appreciated. So my one piece of feedback is this should be made clear. I will definitely be back to work my way through all the other menu options, a new...
