We returned on a whim on our wedding anniversary, as it was the first place our hearts raced and lead to our first ever kiss as he walked me home. We mentioned to the bar staff as we bought our drinks that we fell in love here. Shortly afterwards, sitting at the same table we used with our friends 3years ago, the manager came over with a bottle of Prosecco, and two glasses with a strawberry in. He attentatively listened to our story, a true romantic soul too. He then went to play a song that “sealed the deal” on our hearts. We got up and danced on the lovely little dance floor. It was such a magical evening for the second time! Other than our personal love of the place, the people in the pub were really relaxed, of all ages, and it just felt so comfortable and happy! Dancing to disco tracks by a good DJ commenced, not too loud music and not too busy. You could talk without needing to shout. People joined us dancing, it felt like a joyous spirit took hold! A really welcoming and wonderful place, with staff that clearly care. Thank you so much. Made our night, our anniversary, and our love 🤍

We ordered the baked dipping camembert cheese to start and 2 of the steak ale and pot pies. We waited over half an hour for the starter to arrive and within 30 seconds the mains also turned up which did not allow us any time to eat the starter. The camembert was not creamy and soft like I've many times before and can only assume it was not cooked through properly. The 2 pot pies came with a very high puff pastry on top and looked impressive, but under the top was very disappointing, there was lots of insipid looking meat, but it was not tender and almost chewy. The color of the gravy of each pie was different, flavors were different and virtually tasteless (not a rich ale flavor we were expecting). There were 2 people serving and were taking it in turns to serve behind the bar, take orders, deliver food to the table and clear up, which was not working out too well. Very disappointed in the overall experience here.

Brilliant hidden gem of a pub in London West end we had a few drinks and a meal before we saw Mrs doubtfire in shaftesbury theatre opposite the pub so brilliant option for a pre show meal and drink and post theatre drinking. The pub had a laid back atmosphere so felt very relaxed the menu is pub classics which where very tasty I had the sausage and mash and my girlfriend had a vegan curry due to intolerance to glutin and dary it was clearly indicated on the menu. The Guinness is very good and you get a nice picture on top my girlfriend was drinking the house red wine the two drinks where around £12/13 and I paid around £33 for the two meals including service charge for London prices I thought the prices were very fair and under the average. I would strongly recommend a visit

We were patient on the slow service because the waitress for the dining area was overwhelmed, but when she developed a little attitude (basically saying the customer is wrong) I lost my empathy for her and this place. Management seemed to have stepped in when things were really busy, but quickly disappeared way before they should have. I ordered a steak frites with bleu cheese sauce and when it arrived overcooked with butter on it, I let her know that the bleu cheese sauce was not there and not to charge me. She said because she ordered it that way that the butter I was tasting was bleu cheese. After I had finished the shoe leather, equivalent steak, she then arrived with the bleu cheese sauce stating the kitchen made a mistake and provided the sauce on the side. A little late... Also, we had ordered an appetizer before lunch and it took over an hour for us to receive our main meal (after many patrons had eaten and left that arrived after us). We tried to be patient, no water when we asked, waiting a long time to be able to order at all...just relax, be patient and enjoy the meal. That backfired on us. No excuse for bad service and being questioned on what you know you ordered. If you go to dine, prepare to be there for lunch and dinner because that is how long you...

Was ok at first , we booked a christmas meal at £19.95 looked great when it came out, brussel sprouts were like bullets, couldn't poke fork in them or they would have shot across the table, roasties were cooked, but looked anaemic. Then came the sweet, we ordered chocolate log, with cream. For £6.95 a slice of log was over the top, the piece I got was half of a slice, I pointed it out to the waiter, and got told that it was the way it came out , my friends piece was a full slice, but swamped in cream, as was my half of a slice, cream should have been put in a small pot or jug I asked for another full slice, but was refused, he told us he'd take 10% off the bill.... he could of easily gone and got another slice. Will not return here! Oh... so 10% taken off .... then we got the bill and 12% tax was already added , which was really cheeky, considering the service we got.. very pricey......my bill was £44.85 with a drink, and...
