OXO BAR — Restaurant in Oxford

Came here twice during my trip in Oxford, & was amazed with the wonderful atmosphere! Drinks were phenomenal, and the locals around were even friendly which helped the experience even more! I came in mostly to review the man who came and made things right for me during my experience. I came in on a Friday night in July, & as someone who has worked in customer service I expect these places to be busy. My drink order from a female bartender was wrong, and my experience with her wasn’t pleasant. The gentleman after came out to my group of friends & I and made it right immediately for me! Expressing gratitude in my honesty of how I felt in the experience, and making me feel even more welcomed & seen as a tourist. If I would’ve caught his name, I’d mention it, but he made the experience with his partner on the upper level bar! Both those men are fantastic at what they do! Give this place a shot, even if it’s just for a quick pint or mixed drink! I’ll be sure to be back my next time...

Was told to take my hat off when I walked in as they have a 'no hat on weekends' policy. I must have asked the bouncer 4 times why they had this rule, and each time he just repeated that they had a no hat policy on weekends. Didn't know brick walls were being hired as bouncers. £9 is very steep for cocktails in my opinion! Absolutely 0 air conditioning - walls were literally WET from condensation and no windows were open. Absolutely packed on weekends, but quieter during weekdays Decor is really lovely though and quite classy Music is decent but feels a lot too hype for a sit-down bar, especially as no dance...

Seemed like a decent enough place but I had a very poor experience with the bar staff as they made two daft mistakes with my orders. First of all I ordered a gin and tonic and received a gin and soda (who would actually drink that?!) eventually I managed to get that changed and not get charged for this. After that stressful ordeal, I decided to order a double laphroaig with a dash of cold water - sounds simple enough- I received a small dash of coke - drink completely ruined and forced to pay for it. One would think after ballsing up the first order the staff would listen...
