Have to add to this review. We've notice over the past few months the music from the jukebox is played so loud you have to shout to be heard. Don't go in here if you want a drink and conversation with friends it's just not possible! Even during the day it's not background music but almost disco level. There is no quiet areas as the whole pub is covered with a multitude of speakers right above you, very uncomfortable.
A lot better after a refit. Place sells well priced drinks now as well, bonus!
They have screens all over the pub to watch your sports, big Liverpool supporting pub, but don't let that put you off there are enough screens to show different matches on match day!
The entertainment is usually very enjoyable, but beware some of it can be rather adult, so if you are offended easily I'd give it a miss. But as its a pub and its night time I think only adults should be in...
Read moreI have been to this pub a number of times and have been served with no issues and never once asked formy ID. Recently I went here with my nan and they would not serve me. I stated that the alcoholic drink was not for me and I was not drinking yet they still refused to serve me as I had no ID with me. I would like to say the bar staff where unprofessional and rude. I tried to show prove of identification of a medicam document that had all of my details including my name and birthday proving my age. As I was then informed they needed photo ID my next best thing was to get a photo of my passport. Once I shown a picture of my passport this was then refused. It's ridiculous you could see it was me. I then was told it had to be in my hand to see it. It's always been a local pub with a good crows of people but to be treated this way was...
Read moreSituated on corner down from the barcode at breton side. I've not been here before and I've lived in Plymouth all my life. Oops! Lol. Not a bad pub and it is one of Plymouth very old pubs. I went in on a Saturday night and it was busy. But I managed to get a table. I didn't have to wait long to be served. And the staff were pleasant. Good selection of drinks for most tastes. It was quite noisy as there was sports on the many TVs. Plus music. People have to speak up to be heard. But like I said it's a Saturday night so expect that. They have a reasonable amount of seating. Also a pool table and I think darts. With another area to the back. We spent a few hours there and on the whole wasn't to bad. If you fancy a drink while in the area. Then...
