We arrived on a Saturday without booking. They squeezed us in and needed the table back in just over an hour (which was not a problem). We were shown upstairs by one of the younger male services who was polite and welcoming. Upstairs is very packed in and warm. Again due to me and my partner being squeezed in for service I did not mind this but would have been disappointed if we had booked up there. We ordered drinks and food which was not a problem mostly serviced by the younger woman looking after the quite packed area. Drinks arrived no problem and first course arrived no problem. We ordered a sharing course which was tasty and good value. After this point things started to go downhill. We had our table cleared by the older (manager?) asking if we wanted coffees? We then explained that's our starter and we are waiting on our main. We had finished our drinks at this point and had to call another server who did not seem pleased about this request. The younger lady then arrived and took our drinks order. After about 10 minutes our mains arrived. Not quite as good as our starter (we ordered lobster ravioli & a pizza). After finishing this we waited for over 20 minutes and still had not seen our drinks order. We had servers pass and tried to get some attention but they were busy. We eventually got the manager? Who was seating people upstairs and explained that we were waiting on drinks but would just like to pay. He sat the table he was dealing with then came back to confirm we didn't want coffee? Then left and a young male server came up with the bill and we paid. He awkwardly took the bill back from us (normally we would be offered to keep this at our restaurants). We were not offered a receipt either. It was a very strange and disappointing experience. I've been there before years ago and been downstairs and had a much better experience. Some of the staff were the same since my last visit so it may have been a bad day. I shop with my feet so with all the other places in Glasgow will not be back. We were also in and out in an hour and ten minutes as...

So was really not wanting to write this review but after the poor and very rude experience we had last night it’s only fair to let people know about the service by this restaurant, the main issue we had was the lack of service and how rude the female waitress and male waiter where to us on many different occasions - some of the things we were subjected too was speaking to us very rude and then constantly going upto other members of the staffing team and laughing and pointing at our table - we travelled all the way from the capital Edinburgh and this restaurant was recommended to us by a family member who only lives 5 mins away, firstly our table was situated next to the bar where there was not enough room for the staff to get about so constantly walking past us was very frustrating, secondly the female waitress was just so rude and was acting like she never wanted to be at work on the Sunday - some of the things which came out her mouth while working in hospitality was “how many chips you want 1/5 or 100” one of my younger cousins asked about the location of the toilets and she replied “really!!” Another member of the staff was asked what flavours of cheesecake and he replied “I know know it’s just cheesecake flavour” tbf we have never had such bad service like this and we won’t be ever visiting the restaurant again and in future be letting everyone who wants a Italian in Glasgow to avoid this restaurant - the management did apologise and where very professional and really should take care and an eye out on how the staff who work for them are treating a table or 10 who are paying money to eat some quality food and get some decent service - this place concentrated more on there flower displays then actually caring for customers - none of the 10 eating yesterday will ever visit again !!!!

Worst place to...

I had booked this restaurant as a Christmas treat for grandchildren, we arrived 25 min early and was told they were not ready for us to return at our scheduled booking time , understandable at a very busy time, however when we returned, was told to wait at door as customer were not finished , table cleared , and we were sat down at an unset and uncleared table beside the door , we asked if we could be sat upstairs in the warmth as it was a bitterly cold night and was told no by a rather disgruntled manager despite having pre booked, we had to ask for forks for food , our starter arrived and we watched some of it sat on the hot plate till the rest of starter arrived , starter included garlic bread and Italian bread (garlic bread was burnt underneath) , the doors we’re constantly opened with customers trying to get in and I felt so bad for grandchild that he had to sit with his jacket on because he was so cold , dinner arrived but one of the pastas had obviously been sitting ready was cold and stodgy when it arrived, we told the waitress, she asked did we want a fresh one cooked ??? No one approached the table to ask how we enjoyed the meal which we would have passed the comments on so no opportunity to do that .Could not wait leave this over booked restaurant, would have liked to have spoke to the girl in charge but she was dealing with another complaint from table behind us , and did not want to ruin the kids Christmas...

The worst experience ever . We went with my friend for coffee (also tasteless coffee even tho says Italian knows about coffee..Not) and grab some pizza first of all I ordered the caramel latte and on the menu says it’s coming with whipped cream and of course it came without I asked the waitress about the whipped cream and she said they were out of it , after a while another waitress came over to take our order and my friend ordered the pizza and I wasn’t hungry so I said I will just have my coffee then she got the food and they split the pizza in half in 2 plates even tho we didn’t ask for it . She asked my friend also for olives on her pizza and it came olives with the seed they never came to do a check back. I also asked for 2 tap water twice I never got them and then I see the receipt they charge us 2£ for the extra plate when we never ask to split the pizza and they said “ you can’t sit in a restaurant without a main so I have to charge you extra because you didn’t have food “ 1st time I hear that after living in Glasgow for six years and been almost in all the restaurants .. that was ridiculous and appalling the waiter was extremely rude no wonder the customer they getting is 18yo if you have respect for yourself and want to eat somewhere with a good service DONT GO THERE save your money for somewhere else … DISGUSTING if I could give -1 star I would give them

Italian food with lots of options. Got the garlic bread for starter but they’re a bit burnt but still nice, also got calamari, which wasn’t fried enough for our liking, the haggis arancini didn’t have much flavour. The tagliatelle calabrese is very nice lots of sauce and sausage, very flavourful! I really recommend this! My friend had the Quattro stagioni which she found alright. I love how you can get half pasta here, very accommodating. For dessert I had the chocolate covered strawberry tart. The tart is quite dense, is massive portion, I had a lot of whip cream in the middle. My friend got the cheese cake which looking amazing but she found it too sweet. Tried the festive cocktail merry kiss mas, it was very sweet, if you have a sweet tooth it’s be perfect for you. The clausmopolitan is nice. I love the cocktail menu here, you have so many options to choose from. The menu is big with good varieties. There’s plenty of seatings but not much leg room upstairs, the corridors are narrow, the decor is very festive, Craig who served us is great!

A restaurant that serves vegetarian food that isn't suitable for vegetarians. Both parmigiano and gran padano are cheeses that contain animal rennet. The server seemed quite angry after this was questioned for her to eventually recognise the errors of her ways. The server bringing the label to the table for me to confirm that she was wrong. Customer service was lacking as confrontation on her part was not welcomed. Service was slow, particularly when we were waiting for our £6.70 pints to arrive. Ambience spoiled by servers clattering plates when clearing tables and the buzzer noise that was used to indicate dishes had been sent was grating. Having spent £700 on the bill and £70 on the service charge, I was unimpressed. Giving the size of our group space was very tight, not much elbow room for eating. Menu rethink required as your vegetarian dishes breach trades description act. Far too many CCTV cameras. This restaurant chain used to be good, but as they have expanded, so has their greed.
