I’m gonna get straight to the point,
Flavor and Food Presentation: I ordered the corn beef hash; it came with hash brown, corn beef, and scrambled eggs ( you choose how your eggs are cooked). The food looked and tasted dry. When I received my order, the corn beef presentation was flat, it was toasted on the top layer, darkened brownish-purple in color, it looked dry, meaning you can tell it’s not greasy or moist. The bottom layer was a bit mushy, like the regular texture of a cooked corn beef, dark pink in color, slightly moist looking, but somehow when you ate it, it felt dry and under season . It lacked flavor overall and it was unusually dry for a corn beef and that’s hard to do because naturally, corn beef are moist and a bit on the salty side. I was disappointed. But my disappointment didn’t stop there. I like to occasionally stuff my mount with a little bit of corn beef mixed with hash brown for texture and combined flavor. But I’ve never had a restaurant serve me a dryer hash brown than this one. It’s like every bite of it was making my mouth dryer and dryer that it almost felt like my saliva was getting absorbed by a sponge and having to constantly sip water after every few bites. The egg was moist but not seasoned.
I was really looking forward to eating here because it is a local favorite and it’s busy. Don’t let the busyness fool you, the food is ok. Maybe people come here who have a basic palette, or maybe it’s convenient for them, but the food here reminds me of hospital quality food (not to be harsh). This is what the food reminded me of, under season.
The one good thing going for this place is good service. They tried their best to serve us despite it...
Read moreWhat I loved about this Milly's is how all servers provide service with a nice, genuine, kind smile and an amazing attitude. Ever since I moved to Albuquerque, I noticed that the restaurants and coffee places where they treat the customer with kindness, a positive attitude, and a genuine smile, are quite unusual. There are some places where they are used to have the same customers all the time, and servers treat them as friends but then when they see your unfamiliar face, they treat you with a cold attitude that's quite different from the way they treat their regulars. I dislike that type of place and try to never go back when I experience that. At this Milly's, I could tell they have their crowd of regulars, but then they treated me with the same kindness and great attitude they treated their usual customers, which I noticed. In addition to this, the prices are reasonable, and it has all the New Mexican delicious flavor one can expect from Milly's (I had been to the one on Candelaria and Princeton years ago, and loved it, I didn't even know they had opened other branches). I ordered the Southwest Skillet with an extra egg and red chile, and a coffee. The Skillet came with buttered toast, you can add strawberry or grape jelly to it from the little packets on each table. All over a great place for breakfast, which they serve all day, or lunch. Thank you for serving with a smile and a great attitude, even if one is not part of your...
Read moreThe food was decent but the service was just not there. They were out of high chairs and gave me a booster seat for my 10 month old and my 1 year old. My 2 year old was fine. We never got one that became available. No one ever brought a high chair for my 10 month old. The server had attitude the moment she came to our table which took awhile. My sister asked for coffee and we needed creamer. She kept serving other tables and walking around but never brought us creamer. I started looking at empty tables for creamer and finally a busser was able to get us some. Not one single refill. We finally hit our food asked for Tabasco and she forgot about that too , we thought she was coming back to bring us Tabasco, nope she stood for 5 minutes having a convo with the table next to us. By the time she gave it to us our food was cold. We were already over the whole experience. She did not smile once. We were not rude at all and we’re totally normal and kind. I thought maybe she was having a bad day but she was only treating us this way compared to the other tables. I use to come here all the time when I was pregnant last year. When we went to pay our check the girl was so busy on her phone and couldn’t even make eye contact with us. I will not go back here again after this experience. I have never felt so insignificant by a server even by one who are having the worst days. I always give grace but this time it...
