I stumbled upon this place as a way to avoid driving to my usual Ramen spot in Carrollton, and I was excited to try something new. The person who took my order was super friendly and polite. Since it was already past 8 pm, I decided to save the ramen for lunch the next day. When I took my first bite, I noticed a strange taste but continued sipping the broth. However, when I had a piece of corn, the burnt, bitter flavor hit me all at once. I tried to push through since I was really hungry, but that burnt taste made it tough to keep eating.

I called the restaurant to explain the issue I had with my meal. The person on the phone told me that, based on what I ordered—the spicy miso ramen—there shouldn't have been any bitter or burnt taste. While she wasn't the manager, she offered me a discount on my next meal. I explained that my food was inedible, and all I wanted was for the order to be remade. She then told me that the best she could do was offer me 50% off and a free appetizer. While that might be acceptable for some, it wasn’t for me.

I asked to speak to a manager, but was told he was on break "eating lunch" and that I should call him back in 15 minutes. I let her know that, as a teacher, I couldn’t call back within that time because of my class schedule and instructional time.

After work, I went to Harata to address the issue in person since I didn’t get to enjoy my $18 meal. I was informed that the best they could offer was a 50% discount and a free appetizer. The manager refused to come out from the back to speak with me, and the young man refused to give me the manager's name. Eventually, I learned the manager's name was Walter, and he claimed it would be 30 minutes before he could speak with me.

As the wife of a former General Manager and having worked as a server in college, I’ve never encountered such poor treatment from a restaurant, especially from a manager who seemed determined to avoid me. In the end, I’m devastated and disappointed that I didn’t receive the quality meal I was expecting and paid for. For me, it’s never about a "free meal," but about doing right by the customer. Because of this, I won’t be returning or spending another dime here.

I have been to Hakata or Fukuoka many times... Maybe 10 or more times for a few days each visit over the years. Saw Hakata Ramen here in Allen.. I knew I would be disappointed but took the family here to give it a try. Asking 15 bucks for carbs in broth is pretty laughable. Especially when you fail in all departments.

I know.. I know the part time college age cooks did not taste the broth. It was way under seasoned and tasted like nothing. The bone broth powder you can buy at Don Quijote in Osaka tastes better and much cheaper per bowl. I am not saying Hakata ramen in Hakata is something magical, just well done bone broth.. But, best ramen I ever had was from some small ramen shop in Fukuoka that was like 500 yen.. Not 1500 yen.. 500....

Also Karaage chicken was like someone had never heard of Karaage chicken and tried to make it. What makes Karaage chicken Karaage chicken.. is ......... GINGER... FRESH GINGER... I have had subway Karaage chicken.. again for like 500 yen that would kick your "Karaage" chicken to the curb in shame. When I make it you have to marinade the chicken in tons of grated ginger.. Like way more than you would think. Just corn starch for breading. I used to make it at my restaurant in South Korea.... This places Karaage tasted like premade frozen with a hint of ginger..

Save your money.. Make shin-ramen at home for 1 buck. Tastes better and not embarrassingly bad. I love ramen shops in America that opened only thinking about profit margins while rubbing their greedy hands together... "I can charge 15 bucks for 1 dollar of carbs and broth! The customers are dumb and think because its Japanese its 5 star food! I'm a genius!"... My old restaurant served Sea Food for often $200 bucks a plate you hacks. If you charge 15 bucks it should feel worth 15 bucks. Customers are not dumb. Also the egg floating in the ramen was ice cold in the middle. You cooked a bunch and put in refrigerator to order... Again.. Hacks. Ninja ramen down the street went out of...

I would give zero stars if it were an option. I'll start by saying that my wife and I have been in the service industry for 17 years. This experience began with us walking into the restaurant, where no staff could be seen, accept for the cooks through the window. Once, we were finally greeted, we were sat at the closest booth to the door and it was still dirty from the guests that had previously sat there. We were given napkins, chopsticks, and straws. Kendrick, our server ( I only know that, because his name was on the receipt) said "What do yall want to drink" no greeting whatsoever. He returned with our drinks. Said " You ready to order" I wasn't even presented a menu, how would I be ready to order. So I asked for menus and let him know my wife was going to need a fork. He returned, set the menus down and walked off. After 5 minutes he came back. " You ready now" We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 bowls of ramen. Once the food was delivered. All at the same time, I noticed that my ramen wasn't correct, and my wife still didn't have a fork. That wouldn't matter because I didn't see my server again until we were finished eating. I had to get up, and get her a fork and extra napkins. Drinks weren't refilled until I waived down the other server that was there. I asked her if my server had left and she told me that he had gone on break. Wooow... For 30 minutes. He never returned to the table. Not even for the payment, the other girl brought us to go boxes, and the check. That's when I noticed that he had his name on it. At this point, we set the money on the table and left. There was no reason to tip. Nobody said anything to us as we exited. HORRIBLE!!!! Guess I'll have to drive to the...
