I went through the drive-thru. The lady on the speaker said, "How can I make your day today?" I placed my order immediately. I heard nothing back. I said, "Hello?" Still nothing. I waited about another minute and decided I needed to pull forward. There were other cars directly in front of me so I had to wait. When I got the window, the lady said, "May I help you?" in a very inquisitive tone. I said, "Yes, I ordered a large original, but the lady on the speaker did not answer." She said, "I am the only person working the drive-thru." I said, "Well, you said 'How may I make your day?' and so I ordered, heard nothing and pulled forward." The lady just looked at me. She did NOT say, "I am sorry about that. Let me get your sandwich going." She also did NOT say, "I am sorry about that. Let me get your sandwich going and at no cost to you." She did NOT even say that she was sorry. She just said, "I heard nothing", like it was somehow MY fault. I have a very loud voice. Thus, it had to be their system. But it seems I was not going to get a sandwich at any price and for any additional waiting. There was no offer to fix anything or even take my order. So, I had to drive off and go get food somewhere else. Mistakes happen everyday. That is understandable... but to do nothing about it seems odd. Even if this was somehow My fault, I still did not get a sandwich. So, to go to a food place, get no food and be looked at like things are my fault...... I don't need that and thus I will never ever returned to this particular store. And why would I? They have not heard of customer service, much less PROACTIVE customer service. Life is too short to spend on...

The ordering experience can be improved here. Where do I line up? From the line you can't see the menu until you are right up at ordering desk, so it is hard to decide what you want in advance. That must really slow things down.
When I ordered, something went wrong with the register and I had to wait for my receipt to come out of the printer for a few minutes. The cashier wasn't communicative, so it wasn't clear what was going on until the manager intervened.
Finally, I found a table and sat down to wait for my sandwich. I had some email to catch up on, so I didn't really notice the time much, but then I started noticing that people who came in after me were getting their food already, while I still hadn't gotten my pretty simple order. I was just about to get up and inquire about the status of my order when the manager showed up at my table to tell me my order was coming soon.
A few minutes later one of the waitresses showed up with my turkey and guacamole sandwich. She apologized for the wait and offered a cookie or cinnabon as compensation, but I declined.
The sandwich was ok. I especially like...
Read moreWe went here with two other families with kids, Saturday at 8PM last weekend after the concert at the park in Watters Creek. The place was absolutely empty (maybe a symptom of things to come) but they still managed to mess up our to go orders.
One of the kids pizza was completely forgotten whereas another was burnt to a crisp. One adults sandwich was missing and the soup was just leftover clumps of cheese and broccoli. We call back and the manager tells us they are closed and we can come tomorrow to claim the missing items (really?)
With hungry, cranky kids in tow, we head out again to Wendy's and Taco Bell for their food. No problems with the order there!
The food itself was below average...the famous bread was stale and obviously taken out from the fridge because it was cold!
This seems to be symptomatic of all Schlotzkys locations - rude, condescending staff, bad food and getting orders wrong. This is the last time I am eating Schlotzkys....too many good places around to settle for such food and service
Instead of eating at this place go across the street to ChikFilA or Panda Express and you won't be...
