This is a pretty big MacDonald's, not too surprising considering it's (almost) across the street from Disneyland. Huge parking lot in back, too. Inside? Different story. What a pain in the Mcneck. There's no typical counter where you order your food from. Instead, in the area between the dining tables and the counter where you should order your food from, they have 8 kiosks. Four on the left, four on the right. They won't allow two kiosks to be in use at the same time due to unsafe distancing conditions. So, that cuts the 8 available in use kiosks to 4. The first kiosk I went to appeared to have an order someone started then aborted. I tried multiple times to clear or cancel or start over and kept going around and around and finally went and stood in line. For another kiosk. Getting started was a pain. They had an option to scan a QR code, I'm assuming thru the MacDonald's app, but there's nowhere in the app to scan it. I was able to use some points I had to use or lose and was able to enter the 4 digit code. I liked the menu offered a Macdouble with bacon, and with the little "-" and "+" buttons it was easy to get me two of them rascals. Life is good. Now, I've never been confused for being Bill Gates, but the whole push button menu thing needs to be overhauled. I'm not computer illiterate. I've had a smart phone from day one. I know my way around a computer. I can type 75wpm. The kiosk there sucks. I'm 56 and I'm sure the oldest one there trying to get a freaking burger. Thankfully I speak and read English fluently, I'm here to tell you whatever money MacDonald's forecasted to bring in from all them foreigners who flock to Disneyland, I hope they didn't use ink, because they're gonna roll in well below it. All them there doggone foreigners who wanna come here, and get their M'erican on, go see Mickey mouse, eat a Big Mac, maybe squeeze in a can of Budweiser somewheres... I feel sorry for em. They ain't gonna be able to negotiate that kiosk. They'll have to go to pizza hut or something. Damn shame. Unless, they drive thru... Don't...
Read moreFirst off, the employees named “Jose” is a disgusting and extremely rude person. Brief description: 5’8” tall, about 220 lbs, overweight husky man with a large beard (he was wearing a beard net) came out if the men’s room after urinating and walked out without washing his hands. That was disgusting. At this location they have two registers up front but they FORCE patrons to use the 10 kiosks to order food. The people that come here DO NOT work for McDonald’s and SHOULD not be forced to use the kiosk if they do not desire to… just as Jose didn’t wash his hands after peeing, other people do the same thing. Then they go and touch the surface of the kiosk with their germ infested hands and fingers therefore spreading their NASTINESS to the next person that touched the screens. It’s a ripple effect. I didn’t want to use the kiosk myself for this EXACT reason… the other guy, I didn’t catch his name, but was about 5’6” and was very helpful and respectful, (as was the woman manager,) so he told Jose that the customer didn’t wanna use the kiosk and before the nice employee could finish speaking, Jose yelled out, “THERES NO ORDERING AT THE REGISTER!” And walked off. Very rude and inappropriate! I hope he gets sent to some type of customer service training and learn some people skills because this is NOT how your treat members of your TEAM nor PAYING CUSTOMERS! With this new tech-world the customers are being forced to use koala themselves, just like Walmart has more self scanning terminals and less registers occupied by humans… technology is supposed to HELP not REPLACE… and it’s horrible what this world is coming to. Overall- ONE Star for this mcds. I simply wanted to order some food for my nephew who wanted mcds before going into the theme park… and this kinda stuff gives me a bad experience. Personally, I don’t eat mcds because it’s all fake food and disgusting but k promised my little nephew he could have it… I just wanted to give him the best experience possible at the Disney for his first time… too bad this jerk Jose...
Read moreI am still feeling a bit violated after my visit yesterday for a quick breakfast while on a morning stroll with my husband and our mini pinscher, Lil Wayne.
Look- I understand that any business here in the resort district would be foolish not to take advantage of said location (as I'm certain the property mgmt company they lease from charges a premium rate for this location as well!) Charging slightly higher prices than, say, their location in Salamanca, NY (a very small town upstate) is to be expected... but this isn't even my PROBLEM with OUR LAST VISIT to THIS RESTAURANT. There are 6 kiosks and zero cashiers. While we stood there tapping away at the oversized, superbright screen in front of us, looking for any item that might have a pricepoint either of us could justify spending for something certain to nudge us a bit closer to heart failure or least morbid obesity) I overheard several customers attempting to order at the counter, with an actual person, each of them turned away, "You can order at the kiosk!" and reassured "Don't worry! You can pay with a card OR cash!" One customer, a newly blind local gentleman my husband happened to have met recently, tried to insist, and he was repeatedly ushered toward the kiosks as if his insistence to order and pay upfront was due only to his inability to find the kiosks!
We approached the man and very quickly realized that he was unable to read the menu. Of course, he wanted, and should have been allowed, to order with a person! Yet 3 employees (1 manager!) ignorantly turned him away 4 times! In the end we placed his order with him and he got the subpar food he thought he wanted, only to be disappointed by what seemed like old food, just as ours did.
Hey MDonalds-- Do...
