If you're scanning reviews, here's the bottom-line: Chicken & waffles are a tasty combination, and "Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles" does it right. Find a Roscoe's and enjoy. Until just recently, I'd never had chicken & waffles served together as a meal. In fact, on various comedy sitcoms over the years, I recall hearing one of the comedians mentioning something about getting "chicken & waffles". In all sincerity and with no offense intended towards anyone, I thought it was a long running joke - just saying something silly to get a laugh. To me, at least back then, the combination of "Chicken & waffles" sounded about as odd as "tartar sauce & Cap'n Crunch cereal". Fast-forward to a couple weeks ago when a group of volleyball team parents I was with had decided they wanted to head over to Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles in Anaheim, CA (just down the street from the Anaheim Convension Center and Disneyland). Reality set in as I found myself actually sitting at a table and ordering chicken & waffles for the first time. QUALITY OF THE FOOD - Next thing I know, I'm enjoying the delicious "Carol B. Special". In fact, several of the parents sitting near me had decided to order the same dish, and they all seemed to enjoy it. SERVICE - From the time we stepped in the front door to the time we left, the service was very good and friendly. Our waiter kept returning to see what if anything we needed along the way - including drinks. Bewarned that the Anaheim Roscoe's can get very busy at dinnertime due to the proximity of Disney, etc. Just get there a little earlier to help avoid having to wait for a table. PAYING - One thing I didn't like is that they have a policy of not allowing the bill to be split among the various groups at a table (in our case, the team families). I understand that, at times, it can be a bit of a hassle for the server to deal with. But, most restaurants just do it for the convenience of their guests. My group wasn't prepared for this policy, so several of us had to scramble to get cash ponied up. So, either bring enough cash to make it easier on yourself, or be willing to receive it from others when you'll be the one putting the whole tab on your credit card. I'm holding off a star just for this inconvenience. In the end, the long running chicken & waffles "joke" was actually on me. The combination is very tasty, and I recommend that you check out a Roscoe's. Thank you for Liking this review!

The service we received here was top notch. Everyone from our host, to our server (pretty sure his name was Levi), to the gentlemen who brought our drinks to us, were all so upbeat even though we came 30 min before close so I am sure they were tired! The food was piping hot when it came out and the wait time was very short. My husband and I both ordered the #1 which is 1/4 chicken and the 2 waffles. Don’t be afraid to get 2 waffles- they are a bit on the thin side. The chicken- fried to perfection, the breading was so good and honestly I am not usually a big fan of fried chicken because I am picky about breading. The waffles were really great too, the only thing I might to differently next time is ask them to leave the waffle in for a little bit longer so it is a bit more on the firm/crispy side. No stars deducted for that because that is a matter of preference and an easy fix next time. As we were eating the waffles, we were trying to guess which spice(s) they use in their batter. I think I taste quite a bit of nutmeg- not sure if there is cinnamon in there.... whatever they are doing, these waffles are on POINT. We will be back soon to review different items!

I just had the worst experience here. I arrived at 9:25 and we drove all the way from Pasadena and she told us that they weren’t taking anymore dinning after 9:30. She told us that is was only to go, we explained to her that we came from afar away and we had came before past 9:30 and they’ve had always sat us down before. We were waiting to order to go when one of the employees approached us and told us how many people of us it was and then he proceeds to walk us into a table to seat us down and he even signaled what area. Then after two minutes the lady from the counter comes to us yelling cursing us out ready to fight. We have this one video for any proof needed for this situation because we really find it really delicate because we didn’t do anything at all. Plus, one person from our party is currently pregnant and we have two kids present with us. We have never experienced this kind of behavior and treatment because we’ve been here multiple times and we honestly want to get this resolved and if it’s not with the manager it’s going to have to be with the owner. She even followed us to our car and continued to harass us and said she was going to bring out the whole crew and there was going to be a disaster. Very disappointed with your choice of management.

Located just down the road from Disneyland, this spot is in a prime location for anyone looking to grab a bite after a fun, long day of exploring. When I walked in, the place had a retro, slightly outdated vibe, but the staff more than made up for it with their warm and helpful service. After spending some time with the menu, I opted for the Roscoe’s Original Chicken Tenders with mac & cheese and an Eclipse to drink (a blend of lemonade, orange juice, and fruit punch). The presentation of the drink was impressive—the juices were perfectly layered, creating a beautiful visual without mixing too much. The taste lived up to the look, refreshing and flavorful. The chicken tenders were juicy and seasoned well, though I would’ve liked them to be a bit crispier. As for the mac & cheese, it was underwhelming, tasting more like the boxed variety, which I could do without. The waffle was good, though I personally prefer a thicker one, but that’s just a matter of taste. All in all, I’d recommend giving this place a try. It’s a quick walk from everything in the area, making it a convenient stop for a satisfying lunch or dinner after a day of fun.

Well, this did not live up to the hype by far. We were only in town for one night and chose Roscoe's. Service was excellent butttt.... Let's start with the drinks, we ordered lemonade and half lemonade and tea, the regular lemonade was more sugar than anything, the half tea and lemonade was watered down and we paid almost $6.00 a glass with no refills. The food an order of red beans and rice and thighs, the chicken needed more flavor, it just didn't have that southern kick. The red beans and rice was beans sitting on top of rice, it tasted like canned beans. Just missing those southern seasonings. Second order, chicken and waffles, the waffles were good they had a hint of cinnamon and came with warm syrup. There were 2 large waffles with 3 small wings, which just didn't add up portion wise. The wings came out hot and fresh and they did have the crunch you expect but again the flavor was not there. I think we had more fun wanting to go there than actually being there. We both agreed that we will not be returning, there is too much other competition out there and it was kinda pricey and we didn't get what we paid for.

I’ve been there twice. Love the restaurant... for several reasons. However, the biggest reason is *imperfection*. The restaurant does not accept split checks and would definitely not be a perfect restaurant if the definition of being perfect was to give you *fewer excuses* to bother friends who you went to the restaurant with. We’ve got used to the convenience offered by restaurant to split checks when have lunch or dinner with friends. The question is: “is it always good to have the convenience?”. I remember some moments that I had to bother friends. Those moments were not comfortable initially, but when we opened heart, talked and solved issues, those moments turned out to be one of my memorable and great moments in my life. How about you? In Roscoe’s, you HAVE TO interact with friends to discuss how to pay meal because the restaurant does not accept split checks!!! With that said, this is definitely a great place to validate or enhance friendship bonds, while have delicious food! (Friendly notes: meal portion size is decent. Don’t waste food, otherwise, prepare to get educated :))
