My Disneyland Parking Experience: From Mickey & Friends to Toy Story Lot
One thing I’ve never enjoyed about visiting Disneyland is the parking situation. For years, I stuck with the Mickey & Friends parking structure—mainly for its tram service, which made the trek to the park more manageable. If the trams weren’t available, I’d opt to walk the long way to Downtown Disney and catch the monorail to Tomorrowland. It wasn’t ideal, but at least it offered some variety.
More recently, after going to Disneyland with a few good friends from work, they suggested I try the Toy Story Parking Lot. I hadn’t used that lot since my university days when we’d come on school buses or private shuttles. I decided to give it a shot—and at first, it seemed like a decent alternative. But here’s the catch: unless you arrive early enough to be among the first in line, finding a good spot and boarding the shuttle becomes a frustrating ordeal.
Lately, the increase in crowds has made the Toy Story lot feel chaotic. I’ve never seen it this packed—especially since I started going more frequently last year before summer. Getting screened and waiting for the bus now takes much longer, and some guests slow things down by not having their bags ready for inspection. To avoid the worst of it, I’ve started arriving before 7:30 AM just to secure a decent parking spot. But even then, if you’re not quick, the queue spills into the parking lot and you’ll wait nearly an hour just to get through security and onto the shuttle. By the time my friend and I finally got to the park, it was midday and already packed with guests.
Because of this, I’d have to rate the Toy Story shuttle system a bit lower—not necessarily because of the cast members, who do their best—but due to how overwhelming the entire process has become. I recognize that my foot problems add to the difficulty, so some of this falls on me to find a better solution. In the future, I may look into other ways to get into the park—perhaps via Downtown Disney again, where the flow is a bit...

He did not give us a reason only to wait for the next bus. Another bus wheel pick you up we told the driver. 2nd driver asks how many scooters in the bus only one and two people. Read moreThis was my first time parking at the toy story parking lot. I had a great experience driving up to the booth, staff was awesome and helped me with my questions. There are bathrooms located just before getting on the short bus ride to the parks, which I thought was very convenient. The one draw back I had was getting back to the parking lot. The wait time to get on the bus was about double the time, than just walking to the parking lot. I had no issue with the distance of the walk, but my party did and I could understand after a long day walking at Disneyland, who really wants to walk any more than you actually have to. Despite that, exiting the parking lot was a breeze, no heavy traffic...
