Pearl is a uniquely fun addition to the Annapolis waterfront. A fusion style menu that one must attend with a large group to try the many great items on the menu. Start with the Steak Tartar with caramelized bourbon fat, truffle capers and egg yolk crostini. Someone must order the amazing Prosciutto & Burrata with the green Goddess sauce. We were hard pressed not to order seconds on both. for the entrees I loved the richness of the pan seared Bavette steak cooked with a Moroccan spiced pepper sauce and served with caramelized carrot puree. Another spectacular creation is the Bahn Mi Tostada a slow roasted pork butt, chicken liver and Thai ginger slaw. Your taste buds as well as your eyes with love it. We also got two orders of green beans and almonds, they were spectacular, and I was not going to deny myself like on the first course when I didn’t get a second Steak Tartar… Restaurants can have great food however it is the job of the people working there to make one feel special. The people are even better than the food! Shannon will find you the best table available and if you are lucky, you will have Elena as your server who knows everything about every creation on the menu and will not steer you wrong. When finished eating be sure to take a walk upstairs to the Tiki Bar where you will be greeted by Neiko who is both security and knowledgeable host and he will find you a suitable place to feel comfortable. Once you find your spot stop over at the bar and have Chad mix you up one of his specialties that are as great as the food is downstairs. We all had a great time at the Pearl and I believe that...
Read moreDo not waste your time here. Unless your getting drinks, I do not recommend Pearl. My mother and I went there for the 4th of July, and I was severely dissapointed with the food I got. I had heard all the rave reviews, and instead of one of our regular stops, we went to try a new place. I ordered their beef hard shell tacos, which were $16. I was excited to try them until they actually got to the table. 2 tacos, with shredded lettuce, tomatos, and what’s probably ground beef made with some sort of at home sauce you can make in the pan. Even worse: these were the thinnest tacos I have ever had. Probably an inch across in diameter or less. Ive gotten bigger tacos at Taco Bell and Chipotle. Chipotle is literally a few doors down, and I could get 3 tacos with a drink for less than 2 tacos at Pearl. When a fast food place is doing better than a supposed high class restaurant, you know something is wrong.
My mother constantly made comments on how thin the tacos were and asked if I was still hungry, which I was. Her salad was good, and big so that was worth the price, but the tacos were horrible. Many other items we saw come out were also small for the large price that was put on them, especially the appetizers.
Basically: the place is good for alcohol and salad, and that seems to be about it. Do not recommend for...
Read moreI was really excited to try this restaurant & brought 2 of my friends for a bday lunch. First impression was good but when we sat at the table we realized the chairs were plastic outdoor chairs & too short for the tables, they also don’t match any of the other furniture which is weird. Then we started looking at the menu & were bummed that the only protein options to add to a salad were fried chicken thighs or tuna. How about grilled chicken breasts? All of the food is over complicated & weird. The cocktails too. Our waitress was very friendly but spilled an entire cocktail on my friend, we were very nice about it, we understand accidents happen, but it was an entire mixed drink on her dress & all they did was take the one drink off the check… how about comping all the drinks. The manager was sitting across from us on her computer & never bothered to come over & apologize or ask if we were ok b/c of the spill. Just a terrible experience all the way around. Bad atmosphere/chairs, weird food & drinks & poor service. Hopefully they can...
