The bar that ruined my holiday. I've traveled half the world and I've never been so humiliated. Today I got a job and was very happy, we agreed to celebrate it together with my husband in this bar because we happened to be there after we got married. I went in, sat down at the bar and ordered a beer, my husband was supposed to arrive in an hour, after he finished work. The bartender asked me if I wanted to open a tab, I asked if I could pay for my beer with Apple pay, she said no and I said that then I would wait for my husband, who would arrive in an hour. I was going to go out for a smoke, all my things were lying on a chair and I wasn't going to go anywhere, the bartender demanded my id and said very loudly and rudely, "I won't give it to you until your husband comes here and pays for you." I can't put into words what a sense of shame I felt at that moment, because everyone heard it. After I returned, the girl next to me was going to go to the ladies' room and asked the bartender to look after the drink and the bartender looked at me every minute as if I was a real thief. I am absolutely sure that she discussed me with the visitors because she whispered to them and after that they stared at me. I've never stolen anything in my life, I don't look like a thief. I have never experienced anything more humiliating or disgusting in my life. We left this place right after my husband came to pick me up, who was also shocked by this attitude. It was supposed to be an amazing day, but I cried all the way home. I'm never going back to this bar again. I would give 0 stars if I could.
Update after answer: I guess that bartender is an owner or something like that. Now it makes sense. Check the reviews below before going there, because if you don't like something, it is always the customer’s fault. In their answer you can see how rude and aggressive they are. This is their...
Read moreI worked my way through university bartending at a cocktail lounge. We walked in on a Tuesday night wanting an Old Fashioned & Tini. The male said that he would be right back but served 3 guys who arrived after. A large woman came in, talked to friends when washing glasses. She didn't acknowledge us at all. Grrrrr. I finally asked him what it takes to get a drink & he told me I was angry. Huh??? Little Napolean, you wanna see angry? We walked out, spent $30 at Bazil's instead. Don't go here. Lousy bartenders!
Update- just re-read their response, it wasn't the original one posted. This one is quite nasty. Calling names? Blow it out your.... The 1st post expressed more understanding & promised better staff training, which they STILL need. Went there again, with an insistent friend, just to see. Yuck service; snippy & rude. Yr not special at all, just an ordinary over-priced joint only pandering to the locals. Went to Deja Vu Martini bar instead! Spent our hard earned money there! We had great service, great drinks! Go ANYWHERE but here! Cheers...
Read moreWent in for a cocktail with my boyfriend while we were in town for a wedding because this was a must-stop. While ordering our cocktails, I realized I left my ID in the car and said, nevermind I'll get a soda or something and my bf would still get a cocktail. We were both immediately kicked out because "you can't be in here if you're under 21". My boyfriend is 28 and I'm 27 and we both look our age if not older. Disgusting treatment and loss of business.
Response to owner: The WI law actually states anyone who looks under 21 is to be carded. You are unnecessarily losing customers if you're doing this. I was willing to not even have an alcoholic drink. We weren't belligerent or rowdy. Just looking for a classy place to spend some downtime together. Also, you weren't carding at the door: had I not ordered anything, I would have been able to stay which is where a big part of...
