Service was impeccable. I attempted to place an order online which requires a minimum of $55 to do so but I was fine with that because our order did exceed that amount a little. However the location for online order was defaulted to the Richardson location and I needed the Arlington location. I called in and told them this and they made an acceptance and took my order over the phone however I was uncomfortable giving my payment information over the phone but had to given the size of my order $60 worth. The whole wings were HUGE. I hate big chicken especially wings. The chicken had yellow film on it once you pull off the crispy part which I hateeeeee. I think these wings are Tyson wings and they're known for antibiotic pumped chicken with SOOOO many recalls a year. The fries with slaw and chicken tenders were the only decent thing although the fries were cold. Our pickup was scheduled 45 minutes out we arrived 55 minutes out and still had to wait an additional 20 minutes until our food was ready. I truly loved the customer service the food just wasn't for us. I loved the diversity with the staff, there were Blacks, White's, & Hispanics all working there and eating there. I will say I saw mostly white and Hispanic customers inside. Black people like their chicken cooked a certain way and we hate big chicken do not sure if this is a place for us.

TL;DR Great food, good service, terrible customers. I’ve been coming to this Arlington location for a few years now. Food is great and prices are even better. I love this spot because I get to support a local business while also having a great location to visit with friends, however I felt compelled to address something I've noticed during my visits and in many restaurant reviews: the often unfair treatment of service staff. It's easy to sit behind a keyboard and twist words or blow minor issues out of proportion, but we need to remember that these are people working hard, often under pressure. I've witnessed customers berating staff over things that are simply beyond their control. Of course your order for a family of 4 will take a while when you order during a lunch/dinner rush. And is it really worth causing a scene over a missing piece of chicken? Instead of resorting to arguments, how about politely requesting a resolution? Ultimately, respect is a two-way street. Treat the workers with kindness and understanding, and you're far more likely to receive the same in return. Let's remember they're human beings, not punching bags. They can only take so much before they start to match your energy. A little empathy can go a long way in making everyone's dining experience more pleasant.

Ricky's Hot Chicken is a bit addicting. It's delicious, tasteful, and definitely spicy. I would have given it a 5-star if I had received more coleslaw on my sandwich because I barely had any on it. I went on a very packed night. The line was long, and the tables were full. I ordered The Sando, Chicken & Waffles, and Bird's Nest with the flavors Hot, XHot, and A-Bomb. I want to start off by saying that everything was delicious. The Sando could have been perfect if there were more coleslaw--I didn't receive the same amount as shown in images from Instagram's influencers or on Yelp. The Chicken & Waffle was good--the chicken was plentiful, but the waffles were a bit on the softer side, which isn't what I'm used to. The Bird's Nest was definitely the best out of the three. As for as heat levels go, A-Bomb was intolerable, and I absolutely love spice; it's an addicting taste, though. XHot was pretty good, and Hot was decent. I would return to try Medium, Mild, and No Heat, just to get a taste of the chicken without the overwhelming spiciness.

The quality is a steep drop. Not just in food but also in customer service. Ricky's used to be THE spot for fried chicken. I visited the Arlington location after almost a year with my brother. I a bird's nest and was already disappointed by the portion size but I thought it's fair due to the economic condition. Since I didn't have Ricky's in almost a year I couldn't remember what it tasted like but I knew it didn't taste like what it used to. My brother on the other hand comes once a month minimum. He realized that the chicken is cold and chewy. I felt it too but wasn't sure since again I was having it after a year so maybe it's just me. We approached the kitchen and the first thing they say is "You ate most of it!" Like duh obviously??? Your portion sizes are already small what do you expect? I wouldn't know it just one bite. Then they went on to "We can give you a refund but idk what else you want" failing to acknowledge that the chicken is super chewy. I had to force the fork in. Then they finally gave only my brother a new chicken tender and not me for some reason they decided since I ate too much of their cold chicken I don't deserve the fresh new one. The difference between the new one and what I was eating was DAY and NIGHT. LITERALLY the fork just went through and chicken melted in my mouth. I don't know how I feel about this location anymore.

Edit -- Reply to Owner:

I mean shouldn't first step be that you acknowledge what the problem is instead of starting with you ate most of it? I don't need to know about your internal procedures and neither do I care about it. IF YOU even have internal procedures the quality of the chicken will speak for itself. Also, what's up with the attitude? If you can't handle running a restaurant please give up. Arlington doesn't need you. Go back and focus on the other location or you...

Just had the most unacceptable experience I had at your Arlington location on Copper Street. The level of customer service I encountered was not only unprofessional but downright disgraceful.

From the moment I walked in, the staff made it clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority. My order, as has happened multiple times before, was prepared incorrectly. When I requested that the mistake be corrected and my food repackaged to go, the male Asian employee responded with open hostility, asking me, “What is your problem?”—a question that was not only inappropriate but completely uncalled for.

Rather than fixing the issue like any competent employee should, he escalated the situation by insulting me, raising his voice, and refusing to correct the order. Instead, he threatened to give me a refund, as if that were a solution to his complete lack of accountability or professionalism.

To make matters worse, a Black female employee joined in—not to resolve the situation, but to back up his behavior and threaten to ban me from returning. It was clear they were more interested in defending each other than doing their jobs.

The customer service at this location is beyond unacceptable. It is rude, hostile, and entirely devoid of basic courtesy. It is shocking to me that anyone would allow employees to speak to customers in such a demeaning and aggressive manner. If this is the type of behavior your company tolerates—or worse, endorses—it speaks volumes about your values.

Let me be clear: no paying customer should ever be made to feel attacked or dismissed, especially when the fault lies with the staff. You have lost my business permanently, and I will not hesitate to share this...
