This is my first time visiting the Rose Garden Tea Room in Arlington and I was impressed by the atmosphere and how friendly and accommodating the staff was. Even with a couple of parties going on they still brought everything on time and made sure that we had everything we needed. A few friends and I went for High Tea. (We had a reservation.) For high tea is a set price. Included is all you can drink tea. I reccomend the Rose tea, though the peach was good as well. Or if you don't drink tea, they have soft drinks and iced tea. There are three courses. Here's a sample of what to expect: (Pics of food included) Course 1 - Little sandwiches ( each plate had: one cucumber sandwich, one egg salad sandwich, one fruit kabob, one spinach philo wrap, one mini quiche, one turkey sandwich. The size is about 1 to 2 inches depending on the sandwich.) ☕️ Course 2 - Scones, strawberry jam and whip cream. We were on a table of 6. We each got one. 🍰 Course 3 - dessert. ( each plate had, one macaron, one cheesecake, one tarte, one strawberry cake) again these are all mini desserts. 💜 They didn't ask about allergies, I am allergic to eggs and one of the sandwich was an egg salad sandwich. Other than that everything went without a hitch. The food was delicious and fresh. I must say that our server Mari was excellent! She made us feel welcome and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. 🧡 This is a place I will come back to and bring friends too. Thank you Rose Garden Tea room!

Met friends at The Rose 🌹 Garden Tea Room for Lunch on a cold, windy Saturday afternoon. This was my first visit and I'm thrilled to report it won't be my last. The Tea Room is located inside another building, Gracie Lane Collection. The menu has a variety of options including soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees and after 2:00 pm High Tea 🍵. Lunch began with a bowl of Toasties (bread with Garlic Butter). I decided for my main entree upon the Rose Garden Variety which is a sampler plate of chicken salad, fresh fruit, quiche, soup & pumpkin bread sandwich & the Rose Garden Poppyseed Dressing. The food was simply DELICIOUS and I enjoyed 😋 it All. Our server was polite, friendly and helpful. The ambiance of the Tea Room is quite inviting and refreshing. Looking forward to having High / Afternoon Tea at The Rose Garden Tea Room on my next visit. 👍

Over $30 for high tea that ended up being slivers of sandwiches and some pre-packaged appetizers that were heated up. The tea was iced tea, which makes no sense either. Also- make sure you don’t have anyone unable to make it to a reservation because you apparently have to pay for every single spot no matter who can come. Being told that the food was “already made” so we had to pay for it as a surprise at the end of your meal was a shock. No one mentioned it the multiple times we called and they just didn’t seem to care. Also- 20% auto gratuity is added even if the person didn’t show up. I’ve been to the tea garden for high tea years ago at the older location and it was a completely different experience. Unfortunately it’s not the same and I will not be going back.

A pleasant atmosphere - and we went on a Monday during lunch and it was not loud or crowded. I liked that the inside wasn't too bright (but also not eerily dark) - made it feel more intimate and like a quaint secret place. Our server (Kelsey) was friendly and attentive, answered our questions and kept our tea full.

As for the food, when we were seated, there was a complementary little bowl of bread sticks (not breadsticks, like you're picturing) but like if you sliced a piece of bread into strips and then buttered, seasoned, and toasted them. Really good flavor and seasoning, with a crunch that was satisfying but wouldn't break your teeth.

I had the sampler plate - a great way to get a little taste of everything! Soup of the day, quiche of the day, chicken salad, fruit, and the pumpkin bread. Everything was adequate - meaning that I wouldn't crave anything that I tried... it was all just OK to me. My friend LOVED the chicken tortilla soup; I thought it was flavorful but I'm not a huge soup fan, so don't go by my tastebuds there. The quiche was slightly overbaked for my liking and the filling was slightly bland even though it was green chile. I really didn't enjoy the chicken salad - I thought it looked appetizing with large chunks of chicken even, but it was drenched in mayo, meaning that mayo was also the dominant flavor. Not ideal. The fresh fruit was excellent - very fresh indeed! The pumpkin bread (like a slice of sandwich - with pumpkin bread top and bottom with strawberry cream cheese in the middle) had a full pumpkin flavor and was moist - all very good - but there was no option to get it without the cream cheese because they're pre-assembled, and as someone who doesn't like cream cheese, that meant I could only pick at the parts that weren't touching the cream cheese.

We splurged with a shared bread pudding dessert. It came out nice and hot with a generous dollop of very light and fluffy whipped topping. I don't even LIKE whipped topping, but this really was so airy that even I enjoyed it. There was a lemony flavor in the dessert, and the bread pudding had little surprised of raisins and nuts mixed in.

Overall, we enjoyed our first visit to the Rose Garden Tea Room. My friend and I both agreed that it was a pleasant place to try, but the food didn't live up to what we would expect and the price was a little high (my lunch came to $19 - with the sampler plate, tea, and 1/2 bread pudding - oh and then add a tip!). If you know someone who loves tea rooms and the atmosphere, then this is a definite place to go - they'll love it! Also, if you want to eat at a more leisurely pace and not feel rushed, this place would be great! If you're just wanting good food (at possibly better pricing - although I'm happy to pay more for better quality food), there are plenty of other options I'd...

A DISAPPOINTING HIGH TEA EXPERIENCE I made reservations for high tea two months in advance for my birthday, specifically requesting a table under the gazebo. The lady jotted it down in a notebook full of notes (no organization at all) and of course, when we got there I asked the same lady if it was under the gazebo, and not to my surprise they already sat another party there. I was not going to wait for it so I let that slide and sat at the available table. I could have looked past that mistake but the entire experience from start to finish was terrible. The service was severely lacking. While our waitress was friendly, she was stretched far too thin, attending to numerous tables in a packed restaurant with only about three servers. We rarely saw her, and when she did stop by, it was rushed, leaving us no chance to ask questions about the high tea, which had no descriptions on the menu. The food was underwhelming, to say the least. The three courses consisted of a single plate of 5 bite-size sandwiches, the second course was ONE tiny scone with jam and cream, and the third was a plate of overly sweet assorted desserts (I was so disappointed, didn’t even take a picture of it). I would often look past the food for the aesthetic but we didn’t even get that! We were expecting tiered plates and charming tea sets. Instead our tea pots were in plane metal pots and the food was served on regular plates. We asked the server about it and she said it was because there were so many people having high tea that they ran out of the nice tea pots and the tier trays are only served for parties of two. With a party of six, couldn’t we have been provided three sets of tiered plates? -_- The whole reason I chose this venue was for the charming high tea aesthetic, but it failed to deliver on every level. Suggestions for Improvement: Be more organized with your reservations taking Hire more waiters Serve more and better food for the high tea for the price you charge Food...
