“Bulldogs” Atlanta, Georgia
Ratchet Level: Medium Cover: $5 (Cash Only) Music: Rap/Hip-Hop
I had such a good time I came here twice. The location could be described as a little up from the gayborhood, but still in a central location. The first night I arrived at a reasonable time. Security at the front door with metal detectors they were funny, but slightly rude both nights. There is a cash only cover charge which is really annoying in 2019. The working ATM is a block up which makes it even more frustrating only to find out military get in free 🤦🏽♀️. There is a strongly enforced rule of no bags (purses, Fanny packs, etc). This helps stop drugs and weapons from entering the facility, but I promise you with the right tuck they are still inside. If security was more thorough with their searches this would not be needed and makes the establishment come off as ghetto (in my opinion). Regardless let’s break down this club. The club is more long than wide. When you first enter there is a long bar to your left and a small dance floor to your right with open space. The drinks were nasty, strong, and inexpensive. The club was extremely packed both nights so I would recommend hiring more bartenders. It’s officially a hot boy/girl summer and the DJ did their thing playing all the popular and latest hits from Cardi B, Megan the Stallion, Nicki Minaj, City Girls, and Saweetie. The music was perfect and set the vibe. The dance floor was extremely packed. The venue is very hot with a handful of fans. A short distance from the dance floor are cowboy like restrooms which was off but what ever. Now that I think up it the place looks like an old wooden country club painted black. There is a kitchen inside. We ordered some wings. I was drunk so of course they were delicious. Heading towards the back is another bar and pool table. No one was really playing pool it was more of a standing spot for older gentlemen. There was security in the middle to keep the runway clear. As I mentioned before both nights this place was extremely packed. Outside is a whole new vibe. There was a bar, spades game, going on, and teas being exchanged. This is where you could get a better look at the eye candy. There were no fights or drama. The line remained wrapped around the building all night. Guys were nice (even got us Jell-O shots). Majority of the crowd were black men with women sprinkled in between. The age varied to be honest. Other than it being extremely hot I had an amazing time. If you’re in Atlanta I would come here between 1130pm-2am for a turn up then head to “The Marquette” for after hours. This was the real ATL vibe and experience I wanted as my two previous trips portrayed the scene as more pretentious and look queens. People were actually dancing and lit. Until next time (hopefully I earned my peach by now) Your favorite international club critic;...
Read moreI like going to bulldogs but however on sunday nights i kind of get confused if im in a actual bar or a late evening church service because for a certain part of the night on sundays its just about all church music now im not opposed to it but it can be somewhat offensive if were not religious or if we already left a church service and we just want to listen to good. music without being reminded of church ,,not only that no disrespect to these leading ladies but it turns into a Whitney Houston concert or fantasia tribute and everyone on stage chooses to be center stage singing and yelling in peoples faces which can be offensive as well and this same pattern is done every sunday many people will say why go if that keeps happening i say cause its in hopes that the Dj would read the room knowing its a younger crowd and do better,,and half of us try to conform but at some point the dj has to read the room and know when to do better and get outside of his head playing the old music he wants to hear and play what everyone wants to hear i mean everyone not everyone wants to see a bunch of older folks yelling in younger folks face whitney and fantasia we all came to party not be just standing around looking at them sing we could paid to see a drag show performance they need a little help with the music sunday evenings Dj read the room with us young people and do better in the night you see us standing lost with music find us with the music instead of going hrs with the same play list every sunday,,,???no disrespect at all cause i know you can do better but is this an easy way not to do your homework with finding music to play for the younger crowd or to push us out to let the older folks have a night to themselves well they can let it be known its older people night ,, and mixing old school lyrics with a Megan thee stallion beat is also unacceptable along with anita baker to another hip hop song is still unacceptable 😭they do have a good Dj who works thursday and saturday and he is excellent and reads the room so if you wanna play safe or if you looking for a good church service or you miss whitney and fantasia singing you can reflect at bulldogs on sunday for that it will become annoying at some point cause its played every sunday in the same order you can guess what time of the hour it is cause you know when the tribute starts 😭 cause the old folks come from all over the bar to jump to the stage and...
Read moreI visited this place on 3rd March 2018 and parked in a car park nearby 12 for 24 hours. My friend (straight)) girl) and I walked to the door to enter where we were scolded by a fully grown elephant with attitude.
I tried to explain to said elephant that I was visiting from overseas and didn't know that I needed to bring my passport in order to enter. I also explained that I had a photo of my passport in my phone and that I had travelled from far. The fully grown elephant with attitude insisted that we left only to return with my passport physically in hand. Now, I do not want anyone to think that I have an aversion to rules as I DO NOT! I do however take umbrage to rudeness. This elephant was rude!
I returned to lithia springs where I had just come from and fetched my passport. We parked in the car park which is next door to the club (big mistake). Came back outside only to find a clamp on the car. We explained what happened to the security there and also to the police who promised to advocate on our behalf. An hour and several conversations later we were forced to be $75 worse off for what I see as entrapment! That killed my whole experience. I was enraged to the point of tears because I had no agency and I felt raped and robbed. I would never return to that place.
From my experience, the club and the parking lot operatives are complicit in strapping and ripping off motorists and that is far from cool. GOODBYE...
