Sear, located inside the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, delivers a refined steakhouse experience that exceeds expectations. With its modern yet warm ambiance featuring exposed wood beams, dim lighting, and a stylish open-concept design, the restaurant sets the stage for a relaxing and upscale meal. The Pull-Apart Bread was a perfect start—soft, fluffy, and served with a sweet apple butter that made it downright addictive. The Butternut Squash Soup was a highlight, creamy and rich with a touch of blue cheese that added depth without overpowering the dish. The Gem Caesar Salad with Chicken as an entrée was fresh and well-executed, with crisp romaine, generous parmesan shavings, and a dressing hidden below that didn’t overpower the greens. For entrées, the menu offers a variety of grilled meats and Southern-inspired specialties. While we didn’t try everything, the steak options looked enticing, and the portion sizes were generous for a hotel chophouse. Service was friendly and attentive, with knowledgeable staff happy to offer recommendations. The pacing of the meal was spot-on—not rushed, but not too slow. Sear strikes a great balance between fine dining and approachable Southern-inspired cuisine. Whether you’re staying at the Marriott Marquis or just looking for a quality meal in downtown Atlanta, this spot is worth checking out. The cozy yet modern setting, attentive service, and well-executed dishes make it a strong choice for dinner. Would definitely return.

Sear was so wonderful for lunch that we doubled up for dinner. Mostly because it was in our hotel, but the quality of ingredients, hospitality and service were impeccable! For lunch was Jumbo grilled shrimp 🦐 Caesar with the mini shrimp rolls and charcuterie for starters. The honey comb and blue cheese 😋 and the buns for the shrimp rolls were delicious and I believe homemade. Fresh dill made the rolls complete. The atmosphere pleasant for business or personal. Outlets are available at every booth for all I-charging needs. As for dinner, I sat at the bar to wait on my party to arrive. (They were working late) The bartender was great! He is Knowledgable, creative and billowing with a warm personality and endearing spirit. I ordered the cracked sea salt baked bread. Wow. Delicious. For the Maine course I ordered the Grass Fed Filet Mignon with diver sea scallops. Although they both had too much salt for my liking.. the preparation was carefully executed and delicious. The Mac and cheese left much to be desired, but the mashed potatoes and fingerlings were appetizing. Thank you chefs and staff at Sear, Atlanta.

For such an upscale Marriott, I expected the food to be much better here. The restaurant interior design is nice, however basically you're paying for that. The booth by the kitchen was too noisy and we asked to move to a different seat. This shouldn't bother the employees. The service should have been better for the class of restaurant Sear is trying to market, so I agree with other reviews that comment on service. The seafood was not bad but nothing special, certainly not up to par with similar priced Restaurants. The spinach salad I ordered had a description with 'pine nut brittle' topping which was never included in the salad. It was raw spinach, 3 slices of an orange, and some cheese. I've had better salads at quick lunch spots. Also, We had a few side items that we ordered that were never bought out; they were removed from the bill & we were given a free water bottle to-go as an apology. We were looking for a great place to have business meetings, but Sear disappointed aside from the atmosphere of the Marriott. It is low on the list for now.

We dined at Sear during a recent stay at the Marriott Marquis hotel this past week. Hotel restaurants can be very hit or miss at times, but we wanted to experience a meal there due to it's location, design and other reviews that gave it a standout rating. We ordered two flat bread starters that were ample enough to share between two people if you wanted to save room for a main course. Our flat breads were the smoked salmon and mushroom selections. It was a first for both of us that we will be happy to repeat. We were dining light so we went straight for the dessert menu after our starters and had their famous 15 layer chocolate cake. We now understand why this is always on the menu, it was moist and never heavy in taste or texture. The layers of creme were just enough and the sweetness was found in the perfectly balanced frosting that gave this cake just the right amount of sweet to make it perfect. Chocolate can be overpowering and with the size of this serving ( we shared) if not done well it would have ruined the experience. It was the best chocolate cake we have had in a very long time and will be fondly remembered. If we are ever in Atlanta near Sear, we will be back for another slice. The location, design and service was wonderful. It would be a great location for a date or a special event as the size of their facility was impressive with modern and sleek decor. Our server Andrew was lovely and attentive, making us feel very relaxed and welcome. This hotel restaurant was a delight and even if you are not staying at the Marriott we think it would be...

For the "nice" restaurant in the Marriott Marquis, it was "meh" at best.

4 people for a business dinner, the hostess put us in a banquette. Bad start. What professional woman wants to shimmy across a banquette bench in front of male counter-parts? None! But, the tables were small, so we made due.

We ordered water and then drinks and and the charcuterie plate. The server disappeared. Hmmm. Drinks took a long time. A young man showed up with our drinks but had not been trained on how to properly pour the wine from the small carafe into my glass and ended up pouring about a quarter of it onto the table right next to my phone.

The charcuterie plate never arrived. And the waiter never came back.

About 30 to 45 minutes later a female server passed by and asked if we had ordered yet, and took our order.

About another 30 minutes later dinner arrived. Still no charcuterie plate. One of us mentioned that it never made it to the table and their server said oh we have one in the back I'll bring it. A little bit late for that. It had been well over an hour or more since we had ordered it.

The food was okay, at best. The two burgers were acceptable. But my fish, the bass (the only fish on the menu), was absolutely tasteless and bland. Absolutely no flavor. Huge disappointment.

No one ever returned to ask if we wanted to refills. No one ever returned to see how our food was.

Not what I expected at all and definitely not the Marriott standard. I would not recommend this restaurant, but would encourage you to find something outside the Marriott to...

OK. So I am staying at the Atlanta Marriot Marquis and wanted to grab a nice quiet dinner. I decided to eat at Sear. The restaurant looked nice and not crowded. I ordered the bass, it sounded great and delicious, BUT it wasn't :( It was rubbery and it smelled bad. I still have the smell in my nose. I started to eat it, I couldn't get my fork through the skin so I rolled over and the fish was rubbery. The skin should have been crispy!!!! Kind of like rubbery chicken. I saw a chef's assistant, grab what looked like fish and it was weird. He threw it on skillet, I thought to myself that fish looks already cooked. After a few minutes he put water on it and threw it in the oven for a few minutes. It didn't appear that he turned it over. That's why I believe that it was already cooked and was just warming it up. The chef, who wasn't in the kitchen and the waitress came to my table after they noticed that I wasn't eating the fish. I showed them the fish and he tried to defend it and she was like no, it shouldn't look like that. She agreed that it shouldn't looked like that. She also took a taste and said....um no!! It is bad. I was also told that another patron of the restaurant just had the same experience that I did. So I ordered a burger after that, wasn't going to eat beef. It was kind of OK. Not $26.00 ok. I would have preferred a $5 Whataburger. The waitress was awesome. She was very nice, that is the only reason I put 2 stars, otherwise it would have been 1 Star. I just really wanted a nice piece of fish. I hope that I don't get sick. Very...
