Harbor Coffee is a cute local coffee shop located on Elizabeth St, a side street off of North Highland Ave. The coffee was delicious, as was the strawberry pastry I tried, but there was no dedicated parking for the store--only street parking that was completely filled when I went there. I even went down Elizabeth St and made a left to drive up Bernina Ave looking for parking, but it was full going up the whole street. This was a problem for me, as I am disabled and use a rollator to ambulate, and there were no handicap spaces or open parking spaces close to the cafe. I eventually had to park on the other side of North Highland Ave where I managed to find street parking on a side street. For this reason, the cafe is unfortunately not very disability-friendly. I would hesitate to come back, even though the coffee and food are very good and the baristas are very friendly, because of the difficulty finding parking, especially for disabled patrons. In addition, upon ordering you are given a slip of paper that gives you access to Wi-Fi for 2 hours and only 2 hours. Because of this, this cafe is probably not the best place to go if you are looking to get some work done on your computer that requires the internet. However, if you have no problems ambulating and do not require the internet, Harbor Coffee is a great local coffee shop that I would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis coffee shop has quickly become my favorite in the area. They don't charge extra for their oat milk, which is huge. I am so sick of paying a $1 upcharge. Their blueberry blue matcha latte is delicious though definitely on the sweet side. I have also tried their craft latte, which is a latte with their house made syrup of the day. The flavor was strawberry when I went. Their drinks always look so pretty too. Their chai latte, unfortunately, does contain some dairy, so watch out for that if you are dairy-free. Right now they don't have any food available as far as I can tell. If y'all do add food in the future, please have a vegan option. š
The space itself is really nice. There is a variety of seating: stools at the coffee bar, little wooden tables and chairs, and some comfy sofas. It's decorated simply but all within the harbor/ship theme. There's wifi, but it's limited to two hours, which is fair. The staff are all very friendly.
I do wish they would expand their hours. They are only open until 3 pm, which...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately wonāt be returning to Harbor Coffee. I loved this place as Iāve been coming here twice a week for the last three months; always with my very well trained golden retriever. Even sharing them on social media, as I enjoyed the place.
During this morningās visit after purchasing a coffee and muffin.. setting up at a small table with my computer to tackle about an hour of work, with my dog close by my side sitting down on a shortened leashā¦. I was approached by a worker and told I needed to leave as they only accept service animals in there? Mind you there were two other dogs in there and I must have missed the draconian style papers request from them.
Tossed my muffin and coffee untouched in the trash on my way out. They may have a service animals policy, but you shouldāve enforced it months ago and maybe fairly across all customers? Not sure why we were targeted...
