B&B is a solid breakfast / brunch spot! It appears to be woman-owned and will likely be my go-to Brunch spot whenever I stop by Atlanta again.
Parking ā It might be a bit of a hassle. Thereās an attached parking garage, and apparently the restaurant does validate parking so it potentially can be free of cost, however it was our first time here and we werenāt aware of it. We went around the streets a few times, and found free parking on one of the nearby complexes w/ other shops. Iād say find what works, but coming back again with fresh knowledge, Iād probably chance the validated parking in the attached garage.
Seating ā There appear to be three seating options. Patio (uncovered) which is directly to the right of the entrance, Patio (covered) which is inside and to the left if memory serves right, and tradition Inside booth seating, which might be a bit more convenient at the cost of you not seeing much daylight. We swung by in the early afternoon and chose indoors patio seating, which was superb. I added pictures, but Iād definitely recommend the indoors patio around this time, as itās essentially the ābest of both worldsā in terms of seating options.
Food ā after recommendation from the waitress, I ordered the Orange Juice for my drink, and the Madame Croquet sandwich which was highly recommended, and that came with some meat, Iād like to say egg, and some herbs, spices and some fancy cheese. It was sublime and I only wish there were 2 sandwiches. The OJ itself was fresh-squeezed, at least good for the price point. My sister had Poached Egg w/ cold salmon on side, and that was pretty decent. I honestly could not taste the salmon as I feel the egg overshadowed it, but I suppose it was worth it. One last thing to note, I was planning to order a Croissant (chocolate or pistachio) as I hear they are good here, but unfortunately they were out of stock. Looks like we came too late. In that case, Iād suggest coming before noon if possible, as we came by on a Monday afternoon, and they were all out. Seems to be high demand, Iād say.
Overall, the light-hearted and snappy ambiance and seating reminded me of a European or French sit-down place (at least the parts of France Iāve seen in movies), and also this does appear to be a woman-owned restaurant, and the waitress did mention she could make the OJ or brew the coffee, so seemed multi-talented which was great.
Iād definitely revisit here for Brunch if I ever find myself in Atlanta again. The Madame Croquet Sandwich was hands down the best Brunch sandwich Iāve ever had. Next up on the list for me to try, is the pistacho or chocolate croissant. Iād really like to try both, if...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile the brunch selection was phenomenal with the giant pancake as a highlight, Dinner service was the true crown jewel of Chef Demetrius Brownās artistry. His ownership and joy of African Diasporic food shines with love in every dish. We started with the Haitian Patty that was paired with Tamarind and Pepper sauces that were scrape the plate goooood!!! This was followed by the Soup Joumou with fall apart tender braised beef and flavor packed curry sauce. We couldnāt get enough and continued with the plantain buns with drool worthy cane syrup butter paired with the Poulet Nan Sous and Tasso. The red bean sauce was smack yo lips good! We also couldnāt resist the Tasso lamb belly and we will dream about it for the rest of our lives. The tenderness and flavor was out of this world. We literally got lost 3 times after dinner bc we couldnāt stop talking about the Lamb, Pikliz and Plaintain combo. The waiter was stunned we needed more and we proceeded to order the Yessa and Pwason Fri. Both did not disappoint! To polish off the night we ordered both desserts Beignets De Banane and the Haitian Chocolate. The Beignents were crispy, fluffy and tender with sweet notes from the guava and papayaāit literally made colors come out of my ears. But the Haitian chocolate several ways was a mind blowing journey of discovery and sweet surprise. Upon first taste you are shocked in the best way with the cream/mousse/foam experience. The Brittle-like crisps of different shapes and flavors with the sparkle of dulce de leche crunch was explosive with flavor. The cacao beans and smooth textures were a perfect complement to one another. And if that wasnāt enough the cool coconut ice cream at the bottom of this decadent confection was absolute magic. Over all a hands down 3 Michelin Star worthy dining experience you donāt want to miss. Weāll definitely be driving the 300+ miles to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReally disappointing lunch today. Kinda bummed out about it. I wouldn't necessarily describe myself as a "regular" but I have been here upwards of 6-7 times in the past year. I really love this place and always bring people with me. Today I came in around 11 o'clock and was seated with this Caucasian bearded gentlemen. My friend ordered the trough and I ordered the Croque Madam. It was very cold. I am a low maintenance person, as I also work in the service industry and rarely return food but, it was cold. Another server took it back no problem. It took about 15 minutes to get another and by then my friend was already done eating. No worries, it happens. But when the bill came I saw that I was charged the absolute full cost of the sandwich. And I kinda made a joke, thinking he genuinely forgot, and he says to me "I don't think there needs to be one, as I fixed the problem". Verbatim. I was taken aback, and I said okay, but I imagine some sort of something would come out of this. He continues to actually argue with me to which I'm literally shocked. Finally, he says he will speak to the manager. I receive a 10% discount (1 dollar off my meal, thanks) and it was an Inman park resident/worker discount. To which I already am, but I was so annoyed at the entire thing I just left. Again, I don't like to cause a scene or be annoying, but I was genuinely so bothered by this. At my restaurant, or any restaurant, without question it's either 50% or entire dish off the bill. I just didn't think I would be argued with. I felt guilty for even returning the dish. I likely won't be coming back. Which is a bummer, being that I really, really...
