I was excited to try this place because of its pretty good rating, but my experience turned out to be terrible. If you're looking for a nail salon, save yourself the grief and time and just go across the street to Passion nails where all staff are friendly and do impeccable work. I had SNS done and I noticed the colour wasn't very saturated and was even a bit clear on the tips. When I mentioned that to the nail tech, I think her name was Don, she instantly got very irritated and rude and blamed me for not specifying how many coats I wanted. From then on out she had an awful attitude. After I paid and left and saw the state of my nails in the clear of day I saw just how sloppy and unprofessional of a job she did. There was nail polish past my cuticle all the way to the curve of my finger on every finger. I turned around and went back in, and much to her annoyance she rubbed some remover around my nails and told me I have to go scrub the rest off my self in the sink. Obviously, that didn't work so another girl came over and rubbed more remover and accidentally removed some polish in the process so she put a top coat on, which as you can see on my pinky I accidentally rubbed off shortly after. Even after all that, there was still polish all on the cuticles and beyond. And they had the audacity to get mad and rude at me for their own poor work! Appalling, really. She did a bad job and she handled it very badly. The only thing she did right was telling me to go somewhere else to get a proper manicure done.

Terrible scheduling, be prepared to wait even if you have an appointment! I got a pedicure and gel fill in. By the next day nearly all the gems fell off my toes because they were rushing (it was a Saturday and I was their last client, but it’s no excuse). I called on Sunday and told them I would be in on Monday to get my toes done. He told me to come on and it would not be a problem. I get there the next day and they are busy and I don’t want to wait, so I tell him i’ll be back tomorrow, we agree on a time this time (my mistake the first time for not tell him a time). When I get there on now Tuesday, they are busy, understaffed, and that 6:15 appointment was more like 6:40. All this hassle just to put 7 damn gems on my toes.

I was so disappointed by my first visit to this salon. I asked for a manicure and SNS. Before I knew it the nail tech was dipping without having given me a manicure. I opted for a tip on my broken index mail to even it with the others. It wasn’t until the end that I was able to see how poorly the tip had been applied. When I pointed it out the nail tech told me it was because my nail was short and curved. I’ve had three dozen tips applied before and they’ve never looked like this. It was so thick at the end and just filled with glue in between my nail and the tip. I will return tomorrow for it to be corrected but I hate that it looks this bad.

I went to Serenity 1 week ago today and was not pleased with my experience overall nor the quality of the nail service. I do not recommend this salon if you have average or high standards for how your manicures look and feel. I am not typically one to write reviews, as a mess-up on my nails here and there is not the end of the world but I was so disappointed in this spot in addition to the cost that I want to ensure others have a perspective other than just the 5 star reviews on this. Overall I do not recommend this spot, especially if you are getting your nails done for a special event (I got mine done for a work trip and was self-conscious about them the whole time).

During my appointment, when filing my nails down the nail technician filed so far down that he ended up filing my skin and making my finger bleed. It wasn't painful at first which is why I didn't notice but it even took him a few moments to realize what he was doing. He did not throw away the file at that time but I am hopeful he threw the nail file away following that as blood on a nail file seems extremely unsanitary and makes me question the rest of the sanitation/cleaning practices there. It seemed he was working in a very rushed way, although the salon was nearly empty and there were multiple other nail technicians available in the event someone walked in. Additionally, after telling him the length I wanted he cut my nails too short and was unable to even file them into the shape I wanted because he cut them too short. These were my real nails so I did not want to add tips to them.

Now the quality of the dip manicure - as I said, I got this done a week ago. 6/10 nails are either chipped, cracked, or broken already, which is the quickest this has ever happened. In fact, one of my nails cracked that very night. The edges were not smooth when I left and were jagged in some places. The dip is very thin, and even pulling off of my nail in some spots. I am not someone who works in a job/spends time in a way that would cause such issues. I work a desk job and don't take part in too many athletics/tough activities so there is not a reason for them to be this bad already. There was also some blemishes/spots where the top coat must not have been put on smoothly or was messed up when he was doing them as...

I decided to give this a try despite also(like another reviewer) feeling like when I first called the person had an attitude. The lady who was doing my pedicure was friendly and doing a great job. The lady doing my manicure had and attitude. She end up scratching the crap out of me while 'massaging' my arm. I had long red scratches and my arm was burning. I asked for her to do massage firm that does not equate being scratched up. You don't use your nails massaging people. When I asked for the owner she told me and I quote " I mean what do you want me to do?" I said I don't know you're the owner you tell me what you think should happen . She said my skin was sensitive and the lady doing my manicure told her in their language I asked for it firm. Again I do not feel it was intentional but her attitude clearly was I don't want to be here and getting scratched was a result of her careless attitude. Also I said I was ready to go they kept insisting I stay I felt uncomfortable she told me I quote "just tip her , I'm fine on my end" you don't tell me to just do anything, I tipped the lady doing my toes because I felt she did good. I'm glad there was no argument about whether or not I was going to pay for those services. If the owner just came over and said I'm sorry that happened to you or something along those lines we won't charge you do you still want to proceed? Instead making it seem like it had nothing to do with her worker, and when I said I don't think she did it on purpose she said thanks for acknowleding that. So which is it, my sensitive skin, or you know she did it but you don't want to admit it, It was the worst nail experience I've ever had. And a horrible...
