Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Atlanta

My family and I visited at 4:15pm on a Tuesday so it wasnt busy at all. When we walked in there were 2 ladies sitting at a booth together and another man in a booth alone. No one acknowledged us or told us where to go or what to do. Come to find out the man in the booth was an employee on a break. We took it upon ourselves to sit at a booth and wait for a waitress. A waitess never came. Another female employee walked past our table and said nothing to us as she went to clean the other booth that the ladies just left from. I said hello to her and she spoke back and still no guidance on how to get food or service. We saw 2 ladies come in and go to the register/cooking area to order so we asked the waitress cleaning the other table if we needed to go to that area to order and she said yes and that's it. It was a very cold and weird vibe in this place. The female employee proceeded to go on a break in the booth next to ours while my husband ordered our food and she sang songs outloud in between bites. When our food is ready, they yelled my husband's name to come back to the cooking area to pick it up. While we were there we did see that almost everyone that came in was treated with this same disregard by employees except one man that was treated like royalty. The cook/cashier spoke to him upon entry and delivered his food personally to his table. While we waited for our food, myself and my children went outside to our car to change my daughters diaper and I was harrassed by a man begging for money and he began to speak inappropriately to my older child with me. 10 out of 10 would HIGHLY recommend. Food: I got the lunch special($11.50+tax. Came out to less than like $13 for the lunch with a drink.) I got the chicken special and my besty got the combination feast. The food was amazing. The chicken was juicy and so flavorful. The meats were amazing. I’m not a fan of gyro, I’ve had some that have scared me in the past but this! This was amazing. The flavors were very present and the meats were cooked perfectly. I got the shish kabob as well and it was sooo delicious. The meat was tender and the flavor made my mouth water. The portions are insanely huge. The hummus and Tzatziki was some of the best fresh hummus and tzatziki I’ve ever had. Get the large portions. It’s so worth it.

Service: the staff was great. They gave recommendations and were very helpful and friendly. They let us be but were very attentive. They definitely were great.

Atmosphere: the atmosphere there was great for a nice sit down lunch. We were originally going to just order and take to go. The place was quiet but not completely quiet. I haven’t been to many places that have their background music to a level that encourages conversation between others and keeps it from being eerily/awkwardly quiet.

I’m not typically the one to write a review on a spot, but my last experience here was bad enough to provoke one. I came in one evening with some friends, and was up by the countering ordering. I had asked for the Gyro Platter, in which the dude taking my order mumbled something, that I interpreted to be “do you want it wet?” Me not know what that meant and thinking he was gonna load on that tzatziki sauce, I was intrigued. I said “do I want it wet?” seeking to clarify what homie meant. He then responded “WHAT. DO. YOU. WANT?” Hostile and loud enough to have me and my friends go quiet. I didn’t know what to say, I hadn’t had any time to even feel angry. I was so flabbergasted I just went “geez…” paid, and went to wait for my order. Homie was mad enough at me that he ended up combining my order with my friends so he didn’t have to give it to me. I don’t know what I did to mister to evoke such a reaction. Receipt said Pablo, but I don’t wanna get Pablo in trouble in the case it was actually someone else logged in to the register at the time.
