Probably the worst service I've experienced for a restaurant at this price point. My wife and I took our daughter before seeing a show at the Fox -- after this experience I could never recommend this location.

For our 6:30 show we decided a 4:45 reservation would allow plenty of time to take care of dinner (1.5 hr + 15 minutes to walk a couple blocks and find our seats).

We were 5 minutes early for our reservation but weren't seated until 5. Ok, understandable...pre-show rush. Unfortunately after being seated we didn't meet our server for another 15 minutes. Based on how things were going we decided to just go ahead and order everything (food, waters for the tablet, a lemonade, glass of wine, and a beer) when we met our server. After another 15 minutes (so now 5:30) we get our cheese fondu, lemonade, and wine. We have to ASK about the beer as it wasn't brought or mentioned by the server, and our server responds with "Oh, we are out of that one. Did you want something else?" We still haven't received waters at this point (30 minutes after sitting down) and have to ask for those again. At this point we explain to the server we are trying to make a 6:30 show, she says "she's got us" and rushes out our salads. Great!

Our main course shows up about 25 minutes later. At this point we know we won't have time to finish the main course plus chocolate, so we ask for the bill so we can pay and dash out when we need to. The server obliges, runs my card, and now we're ready to leave when we need to at least. The server then returns a minute or two later, saying she ran my card for another table's bill on accident. So after voiding that transaction she had to run my card again.

We were disappointed that we wouldn't get to the chocolate since that's what my daughter was most looking forward to. I explained the situation to a staff member (I'm not sure what position she held but she seemed to not be a server or hostess). I asked if we could come back after the show for the chocolate and she said that would be fine. That was nice, at least, and I am grateful they allowed us to do that.

The whole experience was just really disappointing. In addition to the long waits: other tables seated after us with our same server were being accomodated much more quickly, our server was having non-work related conversation with coworkers in the middle of talking to us, and we weren't even able to really enjoy a meal we payed $130+ for because of the poor service.

After this experience I recommend avoiding this location. Maybe other locations are better. Maybe it's not so bad when there's not pre-show rush (but come on, you're 2 blocks from the Fox, you should be prepared for this). For what it's worth the cheese fondu was good and when we did come back for our chocolate it was good, but it was not worth dealing with the...

This was genuinely the worst dining experience I have ever had. This is only my second ever Google Review, but I felt it was necessary to warn people. I first called to clarify which kind of reservation I would need to make, since it was my birthday and we were a group- but on the smaller side, and the lady on the phone was very rude- so much so I almost considered changing my plans. (I wish I had.) I made the reservation- well in advance, but when we got there, we only had one burner for our group of 4, even though all of their deals are for pairs. Then our waiter came to our table totally scattered and sweating bullets. At an hour into being there we still didn't have food or even our drinks. A different person who worked there came over chomping on a pretzel and asked with his mouth full what we were waiting on- to which we replied "All of our drinks, and our first round- the two cheese fondues." He disappeared, and we never saw him again. Then we finally get our drinks, and when he comes to melt the cheese, it takes him TWENTY minutes because he doesn't know how to work the burner. So we couldn't talk to eachother because he was leaning over our whole table that whole time... I was waiting for sweat to drop into our cheese. 🤢 Then it finally melted and the second cheese one seemed to melt quicker. The meats and the chocolate fondue didn't happen much faster. And when he brought the plate over that said "Happy Birthday" on it, he didn't even know which one of us it went to, and then he literally tossed it on the table with the most uncaring "Happy Birthday" and walked off. Not to mention when we were leaving, I saw other tables of four for someones birthday- and those tables had two burners and they're little piece of cake actually had a lit candle in it. So all in all, the food was really not that great, the service was absolutely horrible, and we were there for FOUR HOURS. We watched three groups of people come, eat, and leave at the table across from us. We had more birthday plans for afterwards, but we were all too tired and stank of cheese. Luckily my friends are the absolute best and put up with it all for me and stayed in good spirits. But it was actually so terrible, and we paid a fortune. I remembered family and friends going here in the past and liking it, but whatever it used to be, it's not...

My family and I have been frequent diners at the Melting Pot in Atlanta for many years. It is always the requested establishment for birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, or simply a nice night out in the city. Melting Pot has always been a wonderful experience, but this past weekend that was not the case. The service and atmosphere were absolutely atrocious. We waited over half an hour before anyone came to the table to get our drink order, which I could understand if the restaurant were busy, but we were one of three parties in the entire place. We placed our drink order and the rest of our order at the same time. We waited another half hour for the cheese course to be served. We requested tortilla chips and more bread as we had a party of 5 and there wasn’t enough, we didn’t receive them until we were mostly done with the cheese. At this point we still had not received any drinks. When our server came to retrieve the pots from the cheese we asked about drinks, it was still about 15-20 minutes before we got them. I went to the restroom while waiting for the entree to arrive. The restroom was so disgusting that I completely lost my appetite. There were used condoms on the floor, feces on the wall and no toilet paper in either stall. I was completely grossed out. The rest of the meal was good for my family, the food was delicious as it always is, and they enjoyed the main course. Once we finished the entree, we waited nearly 45 minutes for our chocolate to come. Again, if the restaurant were busy I would be more understanding, but it was a ghost town Sunday night. My son excused himself to go to the restroom while we waited, he immediately returned and he too had lost his appetite. There were people having sex in the bathroom, LOUDLY. At this point we were beyond ready to leave, it was awful. Part of the joy of the Melting Pot is the experience, which is why I’ve never minded the $75 per person price tag that comes with the meal. This past weekend was one experience I wish I had not paid for and do not wish to have again. One would expect that for the price you could receive a glass of water, a courteous server, clean restrooms and a lack of public sex. Very very disappointed, we will certainly miss what this...

The concept: (Including this since I'd never been and couldn't find it outlined on their website or in any of the reviews) There's a stovetop per every 2-3 people at every table. You purchase either a 4-course meal or one (or more) of the courses separately. The four course meal costs about $40 per person and includes a cheese fondue, salad, a selection of meats, and a chocolate fondue dessert. Assuming you get the four courses, your server "makes" the cheese fondue in the pot on your table by adding the wine, spices, peppers, herbs and shredded cheese and mixing until it's ready for dipping. You get a selection of items to dip including breads, apples, and vegetables (carrots, tomatoes and cauliflower). After you're done with the cheese fondue, you get your salad selection. Then the third course is the meat (you get to choose three). Meat is brought to the table completely raw along with a pot of the sauce you selected and raw vegetables (potatoes, broccoli and mushrooms). You have to boil the meats/vegetables in the sauce/broth for 1-3 minutes, plate the food, then eat. For dessert, they bring out the chocolate fondue of your choice and an assortment of dipping items (marshmallows, brownies, blondies, pound cake, rice krispies and strawberries). Note: if you only have 1 pot, the members in the party have to agree on the fondues. The pros: It's a very interesting concept. The location is great and the atmosphere inside of the restaurant is very intimate. The wine selection is extensive. The dessert fondue was outstanding. The cons: It took too long to get through four courses (more than four and a half hours), the drinks took much too long to arrive and the service was dismal even though there were only a handful of tables in the restaurant. The portion sizes are tiny (1-3 pieces of each item) and everything is grossly overpriced considering you have to cook your own food 1-3 pieces at a time! It's also a shame that you have to share the pot with other people at the table and agree on the fondues, especially if you have dietary restrictions. Overall, I don't recommend. Pictures attached.

Upon arriving at The Melting Pot - Midtown, I was initially put off by the valet, who was dressed in a T-shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes, all in black. However, he was very passive and patient as I figured out the payment method for the valet service. Once inside, we were greeted by a nice young lady. I informed her of our reservation, and after checking her roster, she promptly led us to our seat. She took our drink orders as our waiter was busy and assured us he would be with us shortly. Although we waited for over 10 minutes, I decided not to deduct stars because my wife was very excited, and the waiter, Rob, arrived just in time. Rob was informative, funny, engaging, and knowledgeable. He assisted us in choosing our meal, despite my initial confidence in knowing what I wanted. The meal was a four-course affair, which I didn’t initially anticipate to be so lengthy. The appetizer was a salad and the cheese fondue the starter, with three cheeses of our choice. The fondue was so delicious that it could make even a leather shoe taste good. Rob expertly mixed the perfect blend for the fondue. The salad and fondue were served together as the appetizer and starter. For the entrée, there were several meats so, I tried duck for the first time and discovered that I liked it. The small portions of meat are cooked in a broth, which was incredibly flavorful. The final course was the Flaming Turtle dessert. Rob recommended the dark chocolate with fudge to balance the sweetness, and it was perfect. We had a delightful conversation with the manager, who was absolutely lovely, and we felt so welcomed that we hugged it out with her as we left, feeling like we had made friends. Despite staying almost an hour past closing time, we were not rushed at all. The experience was unparalleled, and we will definitely return. Rob works on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so make sure to ask for him. I’m sure the rest of the staff is equally wonderful, but Rob made our night special. Overall, The Melting Pot - Midtown provided an unforgettable dining experience, and I highly recommend it.
