Horrible service, horrible food, there was ZERO organization and the atmosphere was quite dingy and unclean considering the price point. We had not been to The Capital Grille in 10 years so we intended to make this reservation very special, however our experience here ruined the entire day and ruined our previous memory of the restaurant ENTIRELY. We felt as if anything we requested, more bread, napkins, even STRAWS was taken as an inconvenience and deemed unworthy of their time or care. We were ignored and treated like trash. Our only acknowledgment arrived when they sent us the wrong steak and the manager had to come to the table to rectify it, I assume to make them look better because they got the wrong steak AGAIN for the redo, even after we were approached by the manager. When I didnāt want their gray, old-looking mashed potatoes as they looked atrocious, the waiter wouldnāt let me send them back, although I had not even eaten or touched it, and she actually argued with me back and forth and instructed me to simply āmix it together because it would taste fineā. Keeping in mind, this restaurant is not cheap and weāve been to other restaurants at this price point and even LOWER that provide SIGNIFICANTLY better service than this horrid one. Also, when my 14 year-old sister sent back the appetizer with disgusting old tuna tartare that tasted like the bottom of an aquarium, the waitress asked her āREALLY?!ā and started to laugh because she didnāt like it, I have never in my life seen a waiter judge a child customer for not liking the food, and we found the disrespect abhorrent. When my mother sent her steak back because it was wrong dish, the waitress rolled her eyes; I donāt know what type of establishment allows that type of deplorable behavior. As annoying as it may seem to the waitstaff when a customer does not like the food or something is wrong, there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to be disrespectful or ARGUE with the customer and refuse to take it back. We sat at the table for 2 hours before we even touched our entrees and when we did get be food we had been waiting for and saving up for, the fries tasted sickening like they had been prepared in old grease and served 8 days later, the macaroni and cheese was bland and tasted like dishwater, the calamari tasted and felt like I was eating a rubber chew toy with peppers sprinkled on top haphazardly to cover up the horrendous taste. The only DECENT food we received was the measly basket of bread, which to feed all 6 of us as a family was such a slap in the face. Not only that was the only viable food option we semi-enjoyed, when we did request more, because again, weāre a family of 6, we were ignored and dismissed, which is absolutely absurd considering how much the food here costs. We should not have to request an appetizer basket of bread 5 times before we receive it, especially when we had to wait at the disgusting table for 2 hours, with my brother who suffers with autism and being unable to eat any entrees. Not to mention although we had a reservation, we still had to wait in the NARROW entryway being bombarded by the wait staff and other restaurant patrons for 15 minutes, standing together like penguins waiting to be seated, and we drove all the way from Gwinnett County, an hour away where we live!!
We are paying an astronomical price and for many families, restaurants like these are frequented for special occasions so the experience is as important to them as the food. We are a single-parent household with children that have disabilities, and we paid $500 for a meal that was not even worth half the price, for us to be: taunted, ignored, and dismissed. Weāve experienced better service and better food at the Cheesecake Factory. I wouldnāt even recommend this restaurant to a corpse, and there are HUNDREDS of beautiful restaurants more to try in Atlanta and in Georgia period, that Iād recommend you visit and give your hard-earned...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came to Atlanta to celebrate our 25th anniversary, having been married in Atlanta in 1998. We were looking for a nice, upscale place to eat a quiet dinner. We originally looked at a Brazilian steak house, but there were no reservations available for the time we wanted. I looked at other restaurants nearby and was very intrigued by the Capital Grille. I was happy to secure a reservation the same day I looked it up! We had a bit of trouble finding the placeā¦we parked in the parking garage, but the exits to the main level/shops/restaurants werenāt well-marked, so we got a bit turned around, but managed to find our way to the restaurant. We took the elevator to the 8th floor, and were pleasantly surprised by the immediate ambiance of the place. We were greeted immediately. Our reservation checked, the hostess went to āensure our table was preparedā. Within a few minutes (before the appointed reservation time), we were led to our seats. Imagine our surprise when the lovely table for 2 had a rose, confetti, and a card for us!
Can I just say we had THE BEST EVER server. Jeff went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He was entertaining, precise, and wonderfully theatrical in his service, and we loved every minute of it, which was well-reflected in his tip! Our cocktails were well-made and presented with great flourish. I ordered the tenderloin and lobster tails; my husband had the 10 ounce filet. We also ordered asparagus āfor the tableā which allowed us to share it. When our food came out, we were happy to see the steaks were cooked to perfection. My tenderloin practically melted in my mouth, and the lobster tails were sweet and tender. The asparagus was delicious as well. My husband was very pleased with his filet as well; it was prepared to his liking.
Since it was our anniversary, we decided to order dessert; we chose the chocolate cake. It was truly more of a torte than a cakeā¦rich, delicious, and served with fruit and whipped cream. Did I mention it was our anniversary??? Our dessert came out beautifully presented, wishing us a happy anniversary! And Jeff, the amazing server, brought two flutes of champagne to complete our celebration. It was one of the most wonderful experiences we have hadā¦from start to finish! This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but definitely worth a special occasion or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTonight on Sunday, May 30, 2021, I had the opportunity to visit one of the most unique and by far the best dining experiences in Atlanta! I am referring to the Capital Grille! The experience was excellent from start to finish. Let's start with the valet service. As soon as I pulled up the valet staff were right there to accommodate us. I give the valet 5 starsāāāāā! Not only did the valet park our vehicle, they also have us told us how to get up to the restaurant. Once inside the restaurant, the hostess greeted us and we were seated almost immediately. After being seated, our server came and offered us a state-of-the-art cocktail menu as well as gave regular beverage options. The mint lemonade was splendid! From there, we were informed of the appetizers, the soup options as well as the entrees, which was a South African Lobster. Upon ordering our appetizers, our server Michael accommodated us by bringing out bread and butter. Minutes later, out comes out appetizers and they look so good. In the middle of eating our appetizers, we order lobster bisque from the soup menu. In addition to order the bisque, our entrees were already ordered! In the middle of eating our lobster bisque, which was hot, steamy, creamy and loaded full of lobster chunks, our entrees came out hot! One was a surf and turf consisting of a seared tenderloin typed with butter poached lobster tails and double cut lamb rib chops with mint gremolata.
All the food was so delicious that I couldn't finish it all! Our server was kind and gracious enough to pack it up for is. Finally, our kind server Michael would not let us leave without giving my wife her birthday dessert.
The icing on the cake was the police officer on duty was nice enough to take...
