At first glance, The Lazy Llama might not seem like much. It's on the side of a random building, away from most of the Atlantic Station hustle. There aren't any convenient parking spots nearby, so you'll probably have to hoof it from the public garage like we did. And when you step in, with your eyes blinking from the afternoon sun, the space might seem small and even somewhat drab. It's what we thought at first glance too.
But order a drink and sit for a little while. You'll find that the folks behind the corner are as sweet and as efficient as can be. You'll fall under the cozy spell of the vibes here within the few minutes it takes them to ready your drink order. If you mange to snag one of the couches, you'll have a comfortable spot from which you can pass an hour or two of people watching. If you're here to work, like we were, you'll find that the traditional two-tops make for an excellent work space and you'll certainly appreciate the dependable wifi.
If you've got any room in your belly to spare, I implore you to try a breakfast sandwich. I wasn't even hungry, but I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel (onto which they were perfectly willing to add an avocado, at my request). It reminded me of a New York City bodega sandwich in the absolute best of ways - perfectly toasted, with well-crisped bacon, and melty cheese in the middle.
On a Saturday afternoon, The Lazy Llama was the just spot we needed - quiet and studious, calm and cozy, with no one giving us the stink eye as we worked for...
Read moreI was looking for a little coffee near midtown and google showed the Lazy Llama at Atlantic station. I was going to target so I decided to stop in here. The atmosphere was cute, maybe a tad childish but overall comfortable with different seating options like a couch, table or arm chair. I must say with the crepes being made in such a small space when the waffle iron start to smoke a bit it can be a bit overwhelming. It’s not terrible but definitely worth noting. I think they should have a fan sucking air out so it doesn’t get too pancake burn smell inside. Anyways i ordered the Lemon smoothie and the Berry Crepe. Both of which were fine. The smoothie began separating pretty quickly unfortunately but it didn’t impact too much and the was average. The berries were fresh, the sauces were alright, the crepe itself could have been silkier and softer but overall it was tasty. Both of the employees were very kind and did great. Overall, my experience with lazy llama was alright and wouldn’t my returning if someone...
Read moreif you’re anything but a church going, straight, white couple i wouldn’t take your business here… the atmosphere is so off putting with the all christian music and signs about god. this is not what a coffee shop should be. apart from the fact there was no one else in the store, our drinks came out mediocre for the price. lukewarm milk lattes with no foam. seriously atleast get a barista who knows what they’re doing. the staff wasn’t very friendly and preceded to misgender me and my partner, you say thank you they just avoid eye contact and get back on their phones. no hats or hairnets either. food was decent but not enough to make up for everything else. also a lot of the reviews mention being a POC and going there and not having a good experience either so what does that say about this place?? coffee shops should be a place to relax and have a diverse place especially in the...
