My sister and I planned a bachelorette party dinner here for April 26th at 7:30pm for our older sister. I had called and made the reservation on April 11th. The reservation was confirmed and the woman I spoke with from Chelsea mentioned that there was space on 4/26 for our group of 15 but a manager would follow up. I received a text confirmation for the reservation but I never received a call from a manager. I reached out to the restaurant 5 days prior to our reservation to confirm that we were still in the books for 4/26. I received another text confirmation the day before our reservation. I thought we were all set. Our group arrived prior to 7:30pm on Saturday evening and we were told that another group in our spot had just started eating their meal and we would have to wait a bit. It wasn't an issue initially as we were still waiting on a few more girls to arrive in our group. We followed up with the hostess closer to 8pm and we were told the group was still eating. I was very disappointed as I made a reservation in advance AND was diligent in re-confirming leading up to our reservation... the team at Chelsea did not seem to care that our group had to wait as there was no urgency or explanation. One of the girls in our group did make it known that we had scheduled plans after dinner and relayed her frustration in having to wait even with a reservation for such a large group. Again, no urgency from the team at Chelsea. They offered to give us a table in the Whiskey Lounge across the hall but it was closed so it would have been just our group sitting in this big empty room... we wanted the whole experience and atmosphere of the restaurant, so my sister and I who planned the event spoke to the team again and clarified that we would rather wait for the table IN the restaurant and we appreciated their offer for appetizers on the house. We continued to wait and were getting closer to 8:30pm and we kept being informed by the hostess/team that the table was still working on desserts. Again, no urgency and our whole group was just waiting around. We finally got seated after 8:30pm and the restaurant (having died down at that point since they close at 9pm) was emptying out, so the atmosphere wasn't quite what it had seemed to be when we were supposed to be sitting down at 7:30pm. We appreciated the appetizers on the house, but felt the whole thing was very unprofessional given a very large group with a scheduled reservation. The restaurant double-booked and did not really go out of their way to provide an explanation or offer solutions until we pushed and we did not get seated until an hour later. The food was good, the atmosphere could have been better, the waitress was likely stressed since she knew it was a large, somewhat unhappy group, but service was fine and she was attentive. The bar was closing so before our food came out we had a "last call" for drinks and it was obvious that the staff was closing up while we were still mid-dinner. My sisters and I understand the restaurant business and tried to be as lenient as possibly as things happens that we can't control, but in the end, it was quite frustrating as we were trying to stick to our scheduled events for...
Read moreGlad I found this place. It is a hike from the casino, but well worth it if you're ordering the right things. The Clams Casino are worth the trek through two buildings! The Lobster Bisque is a sad miss. It completely missed the mark on the richness usually associated with Lobster Bisque, but was still tasty for what it was. Of all the entrees, I found myself drawn to the Meatloaf and OMG it was DELICIOUS!. The sauce served on it was thick and plentiful, but I managed to take a few bites without it, and the meatloaf was still moist and tasty. A little sad that it came with only 3 asparagus spears, but they were tasty as were the mashed potatoes and jalapeno corn biscuit. The old fashioned I ordered at the bar was kinda sad and I'm speculating that the glass of Malbec I asked for was actually Merlot. I feel like English was the second language for both of the bar staffers (which I'm okay with, but made for a strange experience). As a solo traveler (and many people who visit Atlantic City are), there was zero chatter between the bartender and any guests. I also got completely skipped over for any bread service which was sad as everyone else at the bar seemed to enjoy it. My appetizer and soup arrived at the same time (again, not the worst thing, but could have been staggere a little) Dinner arrived promptly as I was calling it quits on my mediocre bisque. When asked, the bartender handed myself and the gentleman next to me dessert menus, and I quickly opted for a brownie with ice cream, which was delicious but way more decadent than I thought it would be. The gentleman next to me asked a bunch of questions about dessert drinks and finally talked the bartender into making something off menu. After enjoying that drink, he asked for dessert and she seemed shocked that he was asking. She explained that the kitchen had already closed, but she did go ask, and they were able to serve him the ice cream that he had asked for. Again, I was surprised that there was ZERO communication that the kitchen would be closing. Seriously the food was delicious (with the exception of the bisque) and the views in the daylight are spectacular. I hope they offer more training to the bar staff of interacting with guests, but thats really it. Despite my experience, I'd definitely visit again and would definitely recommend this place to family...
Read moreAttended a trade show in AC. We were looking forward to a nice meal, budget wasnt really a concern. Wanted a nice environment but great food. Saw the reviews and this seemed the place.
Opted to watch sunset in hotel room so cant speak to sunset from this place.
We were seated. Given menus and waited over 10 mins for someone to even take our drink orders. This is important because we ordered a bottle of wine, eventually didnt even drink half the bottle because it took too long to get
Lobster bisque was good. Not great. No actual lobster in it. Taste was good but didnt seem made in house
Caesar salad was fine. I can describe as sad. Lettuce was 1/2 limp. See pic attached
Asked for addl bread. Never received
We sat w our empty soup & salad plates, no one collected. Then a woman came out w our entrees. Put in front of us. Didnt take dirty dishes. The table isnt that big.
I asked to pls remove them. She at first said no. Then agreed. Said no gloves so she really shouldn’t take them. Fine if thats the law. BUT she should say “I’m sorry I cant but I’ll send a busboy right away”
Prime rib was tasty, but boring presentation. Baked potato, of all things, was good. Though on an oddly shaped plate. Hard to cut/ eat
The stuffed shrimp were not freshly prepared. The stuffing was compact and sauce sat on top. Heavy handed. Shocked because everyone raved about it. ** UPDATING to encourage you to see other photos of stuffed shrimp fr reviews. My shrimp looked nothing like previous diners. Even the bed of greens. My shrimp were not freshly prepared. Compare for yourself
Dessert. Order cheesecake. Waitress came out said no more available. Switched to crem brule. Thought the giant whipped cream on top was unnecessary.
I apologize for the detailed review. But every item was slightly off
The service was unprofessional. People shuffling around yet no one servicing us without being flagged down.
Environment was also off. Cartoon on bar tv. Cleaning supplies in middle of dining room.
To summarize. This restaurant is not polished. The food and service can be equated to a diner. Ppl were nice enough. Food was mediocre.
Im reviewing detailed to save anyone who wants a great meal, or service from wasting their only dinner in AC.
If the manager of this restaurant wants to contact me, I’m happy to give...
