You're walking along the beach boardwalk and suddenly feel hungry. Not that there's any dearth of options for a good beer and wings out there along the beach, but there's something about Hooters that doesn't let you look beyond it when you spot one :) So I immediately took a pit stop at this Hooters restaurant located conveniently along the boardwalk in Atlantic City. The stunningly gorgeous hostess at the lectern attended me, and asked me to freely grab a seat wherever I liked. I usually find warmth in being ushered to a table, but in this case the freedom of seat choice just went along with the casual beach vibe!
Just as I was about to settle at my table, waitress (Jena) came to take my food order. I could say that Jena was a perfect embodiment of the glam-fam, rock-star, sports-bar brand that is Hooters -- but she was way more than that... totally out of this world! Here's why: To begin with, Jena probed my dietary preferences. Now I know I stepped into a Hooters, but I'm neither a fan of the Buffalo flavor not a beer guy technically so to speak ;) - but I do dribble over wings! So imagine what kind of a nerd she had to deal with (no drum-rolls required here, only eye-rolls please :P). Moreover I am a stickler for variety, so I was essentially craving for a combo when it came to wing choice. Here's where she (subtly) indicated that it wasn't an available option using the most courteous gesture possible. Furthermore, she was kind enough to suggest I have bare wings with the sauces that I liked over by-the-side, and it worked like a charm for me - may be not everyone's cup of tea (pun intended)!
Not only that - when I had to step away for a restroom break, Jena had my food covered until I was back to my seat, how cute & caring is that!!! This may have to do with the breezy windy beach weather (as my table was outdoors), or due to the sheer nuisance caused by those seagulls. Believe me - seagulls are good at the beach only for pictures...LOL! They're somewhat annoying when they try to get into nibbling at your eatables. But having them poop into your food is the last thing you want at a beach picnic - yucckkks!
Management team, kindly take note and appoint a special task-force to manage seagulls around the restaurant please. It shouldn't be left up to the girls to go after them and clean their mess (humble request)!
Note to other guests:---------------- The restaurant is located inside Tropicana Casino, so the restrooms that guests have access to are pretty much into the...
Read moreLet me first say it pains me to relive the experience for this location. Myself and family came down to visit for a few days of fun in the sun and some R & R. After arriving we did some shopping at the outlets which had us busy all day. It was getting late so we decided to get some dinner and realized that most restaurants had closed early for the day (it was Sunday). We ended up back at our hotel (The Tropicana) and decided to go to Hooters for dinner. The line was a little long but our choices were limited at this point. Once in we sat at a table, a table with stools we noticed they hadn't even bothered to clean the remence from the previous diners from under our table. Shrimp an all still on the floor. SMDH Our waiter came to greet us but I must say she seemed somewhat annoyed. We all commented on how she seemed to be bothered by our presents. She wasn't really helpful when ask basic questions about the menu options. we placed our orders and waited. First off let me say they didn't offer the full menu like other locations and we noticed they sold items that would normally be sold together separately.
For example burgers with no fries, only beans. When ordering buffalo wings you would need to buy the celery separately. Like what???? The wings seemed a little small and they didn't offer the wings as a meal with fries that had to be purchased separately as well. Blue cheese wasn't offered for every wing order and were told we'd need to buy it if we want it. To be fare the manager did bring us extra sauce free of charge without reservation. We really appreciated that. We also ordered some sort of Strawberry lemonade concoction that I'd rather refer to as diabetes in a cup. It was soooo sweet I damn near went into sugar shock from a few sips. I had to leave briefly to get some air and calm my damn nerves. That stuff should never be sold to anyone. we had them removed from our bill. Over all it was not a pleasant visit. They need to revamp the menu and adjust the professional attitude of said staff. I wish I remembered her name, I believe it was Jordan if I'm not mistaken. I see other people seem to have had a better experience but we didn't ...
Read moreHad Sophia as our waitress ! The worst experience I have EVER had eating out ! I am in the restaurant business and work currently at a high volume restaurant myself and know when someone’s busy and not and when they COMPLETELY forget an entire order ! She was rude and clearly needs more training ! Had 7 people with our party everyone got there food but me and my fiancé ! We order PLENTY to ! Two orders of wings a lb of steamed clams and a burger ! Never put the order in after the manager came over and said she would have our order out right away waited another 20 minutes to find we still haven’t received ANY of it ! At this point the rest of our friends were finishing up eating as our waitress walked around I grabbed her attention to ask where our order was AGAIN and she replied with “I didn’t know you still wanted it” excuse me ! Poor server and poor management! As a manager you should have personally handed our order out once it was finished being made ! Any issues that HUGE should automatically be in the managers hand ! Instead we got a “thought you already had your food ?” Excuse me again no we didn’t because the server clearly didn’t know what she was doing or capable of working with a high volume restaurant ! Not to mention the tables Ms. Sophia had around us also had complaints about there service and orders ! Train your servers better ! Absolutely...
