I've been procrastinating when it comes to this review because I feel I have nothing kind to say, except this... the lemonade was really good. I got mango lemonade and my mama had strawberry (she felt it was too sweet). However mine was bangin! Unfortunately the lemonade was the best part about the meal. I got a chicken shawarma (which I've had many times from a Lebanese jawn out Delaware). With the shawarma I got a few sides... yams, smack & cheese, and string beans. So let's slow down shall we? Firstly, we waited well over 30 minutes for the food, the smack & cheese was just going into the oven.. cool. When I took the food out the bag I thought "oh that's colorful I wonder what it is". Chile it was the string beans😩. They were like snap peas, not soft in any way. There were onions and peppers in it, and they were practically raw. May I suggest soaking the string beans at night, perhaps to soften them up in the future. Then the yams...mind you the lady at the counter TOLD me it had an apple drizzle they're trying a "healthy" twist. I thought okay...im willing to try new things. She failed to mention that my first bite would be an apple😩😩. Please just stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to yall🫂. That was very confusing for me, and I couldn't figure out the healthy part bc I could see the butter. Just say you're doing something different. The smack nd cheese, I'll give a 4 out of 10. 4 because that cheese was CHEEEESIN👏🏾. The low number is because the FIRST taste I had was straight garlic powder. It was just so disappointing 😩😩😩. And my shawarma was just salad with a few pieces of chicken on some pita bread. It was a dissatisfying experience to say the least. I'm so hurt I spent $60 for my baby to spit the food out yo 😭😩. I wish had better things to say because the decor was so cute. I see yall are trying, just...let's stick to our...
Read moreOrdered brisket Alfredo , and my gf order catfish then 20 minutes after waiting we were told they did not have brisket,(even though we were already charged for the brisket Alfredo) and that catfish wasn’t available for our meal after being told it was, and we went in around 12 pm. The lady working the front caught an attitude and looked at us crazy when asked if the brisket came with an up charge and if we could potentially refund it. Maybe it was the stress but still crazy service. Noodles were very over cooked and the Alfredo sauce was very bland & can taste that it was a bit burned. Food overall lacked seasonings and drenched in oil. Cornbread soaked in sugar. My gf had the fish and it was tasty. Strawberry lemonade was extremely tasty. We were comped two banana puddings that were very tasty but overall very poor experience. Also on-top of everything we could hear people getting yelled at in the kitchen by that same lady. Very uncomfortable experience waiting for food and hearing a scream match in our seats. Waited about a hour and 15 mins for food that really wasn’t that good. Would...
Read moreOkay, okay, I have not even eaten the food yet, but I don't need to taste it to tell you we have 5 ⭐️ immediately walking in. It is a positive atmosphere, the customers and staff greeting us, interacting with the kiddo, and accepting her to just come and sit with them. The aroma is amazing. But, mostly, it is a wonderful experience to walk in and be able to order southern soul food, and no one has to be hesitant or concerned about cross contamination with pork. We ordered the ribs, but because they weren't thrown in a microwave and handed to customers (this is a positive), they weren't ready, and it was going to be a while. They had the smoked brisket, and that is what we opted for as an alternative. The only thing is that once we had already left. We realized there may have been a price difference we didn't acknowledge when the change was made. We also got the fried fish lunch special. The gratitude I have for being able to order amazing food and have zero concern is priceless. Let's not forget that they had sweet potato pie 😋. I am so excited to get back to the hotel room and...
