I visited this establishment with three family members after a movie. The food smelled great when we went into inquire. We were told it was $46 per person and it was a Buffet set up. We are taking a long ride and sat through a movie on an empty stomach so we could save it for wherever we decided to eat. The food smells so delicious so we paid the $46 and with great expectations, and we were met by our waitress, who was very polite Emma, Tennessee, quick, serving for drinks, napkins, and other items we could not obtain from the Buffet. I I would have to say that guy definitely overspent for the experience. There was a live DJ playing great music, but the volume was so high that it was not as enjoyable as it would have been had it been two or three notches lower than it was. As a pescatarian, I took to the Buffay excited, hoping to find great things to devour. I was delighted to see shrimp and grits the French toast and there were other items like macaroni and cheese. Baked catfish, string beans, dirty rice with shrimp and other meats in it, there was fried chicken and omelettes made to order. and there was an option to order hot waffles and fried fish. I definitely went for the fried fish, shrimp and grits, and I tried macaroni and cheese, but it was undercooked, but the noodles were overcook so throughout the cheddar cheese was solid but the inside American cheese was melted. I was so confused. I was even more confused when my oldest kid who eats everything sheās a definite foodie did not finish anything on her plate. And my cousin and sister gave their first plates back. The place has a wonderful idea and may be famous from what I hear but Iām feeling if they are famous, maybe itās that popularity that allow this mediocre mail to be prepared. The fish was fabulous. Everything about the fish was just right seasoned perfectly not too salty fried gray crispy outside who is leaking inside and the shrimp gravy and grits was delicious but they couldāve added more shrimps to the gravy . Our waitress I can not get enough of saying how perfect she was. She was the only thing that kept me from complaining about the food. I ate what I liked even though I wish it wouldāve been more for $46 and I enjoyed my food with her pleasant smile, beautiful attitude great presentation and her humble approach to what Iām sure she could see was probably my dissatisfaction of some things. I had to cash app her a good tip and it is because of her that I will try to go back on another day probably not for the brunch but more for the dinner hour and see if they can redeem themselves. Our waitress was Ronaye, and when I go back, I will request to be seated with her again to at least know that my service will be fabulous even if my meal is not. My brother had the fried chicken, mash potatoes, and Mac and cheese. Somehow he later started having a reaction. His chest started feeling tight and it was hard for him to swallow food or beverage. Mind you he is allergic to shellfish. (Shrimp, crabs you get the point) my brother told me not to worry about it because he thinks heāll be fine but he canāt eat anymore food. (Mind you, they were also serving shrimp fried rice and shrimp gravy for the grits.) I said no, Iām calling over the manager regardless because one this was his first plate and we spent over $100. Now he canāt eat anything else. This was his first meal so nothing else could have cause this but Kelseyās food. So the manager comes over and I tell him whatās going on, he says to me well I am allergic to shellfish as well and I can eat the food. I said that does not matter what you can it, you are not him. I said I dont know if itās cross contamination or what? But something is happening. The manager kept going back and forth with me. He had no solutions. He did ask what did we want him to do? I said a refund for my brothers check only since he canāt enjoy the buffet. Iām fine, but at least half off or something for him. He tells me he canāt do that. When I tell yāall, I donāt understand some people in business because how in the world canāt you do that for him. Especially because he canāt finish his first plate. Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe good, the bad, and the ugly of this establishment. Good : atmosphere was nice. However the live band was extremely too loud for the size of the building for a restaurant and it was hard to talk and communicate with others along with the waiter.
Bad: waiter was hard to find along with the fact that he went to take the order on a group of people before he came to our table that was sitting and waiting even tho he was genuine enough to tell us he will be with us in 1 moment.
Food price per portion was a little on the extreme side as it looks like they try to cut cost on what they were serving. I mean a strip of salmon with 2 shrimps and some noddles for $33 is a bit much. I feel like they could have offered more considering it does come with any sides. Along with the catfish and shrimp that has 1 whole catfish cut in half into 2 pieces of catfish as a platter and 2 shrimps sliced in half to make it look full on the plate. Donāt get me wrong the flavor was amazing. However you can tell they are cutting the cost and maximizing the profit. I get it. Itās business however itās clearly obvious.
Ugly: I was shocked when I seen the Cajun salmon and shrimp pasta and requested a return for something else because 2 of us ordered the same items at the table and our portions was noticeably different. The server chuckled after looking at it as he can see what I seen. A lady came to the table as I shown her the 2 plates and she sent it to the cook and came back telling me they weight the salmon and itās all 8 ounces. I asked her to return the food and I would like to get something else. She left and came back telling me I canāt return it because it was already prepared. I have never been to a restaurant where I cannot return what I donāt like. She directly told me I canāt return it and I can leave it but they will have to charge me for ordering it. Iām going to be honest and say of everything else I mentioned especially having patience with the waiter, that was the tip of the iceberg for me knowing your basically telling me Iām stuck with the food and itās nothing I can do. Itās not like Iām just canceling the order and donāt want nothing. I was returning it to get something else to replace what I didnāt want. Again the flavor of the food was great however I canāt respect the establishment as itās seems money hungry instead of pleasing...
