Unfortunately had a terrible experience at this place. Let's start at the beginning, parking is a nightmare but we lucked out and got a place next to the building for free. Normally there's a charge for most of the parking around this restaurant. As we walked up to the place there was some really good music pumping and the patio look like a lot of fun as we went inside to find out how to sit down, which by the way is very confusing, we noticed that the entire place is decorated in bright beautiful colors bright Latin X chic. We were never asked where if we wanted to sit inside or out we were guided to a tiny table with hard metal chairs right next to the drink station and the door people kept coming in and out of. The chairs are perfect if you are super petite teenager otherwise they're highly uncomfortable made out of cold metal what does small space for your derriere. There was also a faint bathroom smell wafting up from the grates on the floor and did I mention our table was wobbling? The music was mopping and the menu look good so we try to stay optimistic but it only went down from here. Our waitress was very kind and beautiful was less than attentive and most of the meal our drinks were empty. We had to ask for extra chips and by the way while the chips are delicious and so is a salsa you're going to pay a whopping $6 for those. I ordered the agua fresca pineapple which had an incredible presentation but the taste was anything but pineapple more like yellow sugar water. The food the food that they'd I'd say it's edible and mediocre-at-best and the portions are on the small side so we can go with a big eater definitely have to order two things. I got The Tingas and while the presentation was somewhat pretty the pickled onions or dried out and so are the pickled jalapenos kind of bottom-of-the-barrel not fresh situation .It was happy hour and we weren't drinking but it seemed like lots of people were ordering drinks so that may be a more promising venture. This place is very hip and the location is great, lots of wonderful views of the city. They've placed large pots with colorful beautiful plants all over the patio so if you really get a vibe. This place is definitely all surface and no substance unfortunately because we really wanted to like it. Admittedly, we could have come on an off day with an off waitress turn off chef those kinds of things happen all the time but definitely not going to go back...

I would like to say something positive about this place, however I didn’t even got an opportunity to try it. My family and I came from out of town to spend the weekend at Austin and have some fun in the city. After a long day of Austin activities we were ready for some really good Mexican Food. We thought we had picked the right place at least is what had in mind after reading all the reviews everywhere about this restaurant. Let me just say that as I stated at the beginning of the review we did not had a chance to taste the food due to the fact that they have a complete idiot working at the reception. We called ahead and this individual told us there was no waiting for a waiting for 10, the size of my family, so we decided that we should go ahead and go in that direction since we had a substantial group. When we arrived this incompetent individual told us we had to wait 45 minutes to get a table to what we had no problem with, several more people arrived after my group and had to wait as well. Our problem with this place is that after waiting for at least 1 hr we still had no table while all the people that had arrived after us were already eating. I counted at least 30 people divided in different group sizes and when we asked the so called hostess told us again we had to wait at least 1 hr. This individual was so rude and disrespectful referring to my as “homebody “ I have to admit that this is the first time some one at a restaurant refers to me as homebody!! If you ever got to this restaurant be careful when dealing with individual he is quite rude and disrespectful. Hopefully no one else has such a disgusting experience as...

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES/DIETARY RESTRICTIONS. I have severe food allergies and I have never been so unaccommodated and discriminated against like I was at this restaurant. We ordered food and drinks at the same time and I informed my waitress of my allergies and she was not willing to accommodate or bring a manager out to help me. When I asked about things on the menu she was really rude and rolled her eyes to the point where I then decided this was no longer safe for me to order here as my allergies are severe so I said “I won’t order any food.” I still ordered a drink but my drink didn’t arrive 30 min later until AFTER my friends ate their food. This waitress had some sort of vendetta against me and I couldn’t understand because I had been so polite. AFTER we finished our drinks and my friends finished their food, another waiter - NOT MANAGER- noticed everyone at our table was pissed and that I was crying. He said he found out about my allergies and said they could bring me a safe option to eat. I was then brought food that was accommodated to me (even though my waitress said that wasn’t possible?? And it’s was an hour and a half after we initially sat). We were very thankful for the waiter but this happened an hour and a half later than it should have.

This is absolutely unacceptable.i have never been discriminated against for having a disability until this restaurant. What’s disappointing is that I had actually eaten here before and the first time I had 0 issues. It was my idea to come to the restaurant for my friends birthday but I will NEVER be back. Wish I could remember the...

Excellent vibes, definitely a great theme. We visited both this location and Taquero Mucho. Gabrielas had great food! Loved the aguachiles, quesabirria and chilaquiles. Pineapple cocktails were good, and the ambiance was nice. However, the parking situation is not the best which wasn't too big a deal, but it was very difficult to enforce social distancing on a mid Saturday and the hosts were not at the posts, leaving many people wandering. We were outside on the front patio and still within 4 feet of the next table over. The service was slow- they were very busy! Maybe having more staff would be helpful, the bathrooms are single stalls and were not entirely kept up with. I am hoping to return under different conditions and have a higher score for this place. I would say come during the week instead but I believe many of the brunch items are not available during the week. Another source of confusion was the differing menus on the website and the QR code at the front, so the case may be different.
