My recent lunch at NADC Burger on E 6th St in Austin was a testament to the fact that sometimes, simplicity done right is all you need for a memorable meal. Nestled in the vibrant heart of East Austin, this unassuming burger joint may not boast a flashy exterior, but it certainly delivers where it counts—in flavor and satisfaction.
Walking in, I was immediately struck by the no-frills, down-to-earth vibe of the place. The interior was simple yet inviting, with a few rustic touches that added to the laid-back atmosphere. The staff greeted me with a warm, friendly smile, making me feel right at home. There’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to be anything other than what it is—a spot to grab a great burger and unwind.
I decided to go with the NADC Double Cheeseburger, and I’m glad I did. When it arrived, I was greeted by the sight of a towering creation, perfectly stacked with a double patty of 100% full-blooded RC Ranch wagyu beef, American cheese, secret sauce, onions, pickles, and slightly tamed jalapeños. The buns were soft and golden, lightly toasted to provide just the right amount of crunch with each bite.
As I took my first bite, I knew I was in for a treat. The wagyu beef patties were cooked to perfection—juicy and rich, with an unmistakable depth of flavor that only wagyu can deliver. The American cheese was beautifully melted, adding a creamy, savory layer that complemented the beef perfectly. The secret sauce provided a tangy, slightly sweet kick that tied everything together, while the onions and pickles added a crisp, refreshing contrast. The slightly tamed jalapeños brought a subtle heat, adding just the right amount of spice without overpowering the other flavors.
What I appreciated most about the NADC Double Cheeseburger was its balance. Despite its size, it wasn’t overwhelming. The flavors were well-proportioned, with each ingredient complementing the others in harmony.
To wash it all down, I had a simple but refreshing ice-cold water. In a city where craft sodas and fancy drinks are often the norm, there was something pure and satisfying about sticking to the basics. The water was perfectly chilled, the ideal counterpoint to the rich, hearty burger.
The service at NADC Burger was quick and efficient, with a genuine friendliness that made the experience all the more enjoyable. Even during the lunchtime rush, the staff handled everything with ease, ensuring that everyone was well taken care of.
In conclusion, my lunch at NADC Burger was everything a good burger experience should be: flavorful, satisfying, and utterly enjoyable. If you find yourself on E 6th St in Austin and in need of a no-nonsense, delicious meal, NADC Burger is definitely worth a visit. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or taking a break from exploring the area, this spot delivers the kind of burger that hits the spot and leaves you...
Read moreFood: NADC Burger Bar has a phenomenal product! Their Smashburger is simple and straight to the point – just meat, cheese, pickles, and their special sauce. It's absolutely delicious. The fries are no slouch either; cooking them in beef tallow is genius and creates a whole new flavor profile. I've been to this place about three times in the past week, and I have to give them their flowers. The food has been extremely consistent every time.
Ambience: The vibe is cozy and relaxed, but be prepared for a bit of a squeeze during peak times. The building is small and can feel claustrophobic during rush hour. Part of their bar space leads to the restroom and has a sharp corner, which can become a bit of a traffic jam and irritating for diners.
Customer Service: Here's where things get a bit tricky. The service is a little lackluster. There are two young ladies working there who don't prioritize the patrons as they should. They tend to horseplay a bit too much, which can make patrons impatient. I've seen people walk out because of this. It's sad because the service doesn't reflect the quality of the food. I don't believe these two young ladies are bad apples; they just need a bit of direction. If not, people might see the prices, experience the service, and decide not to give the product a chance.
Overall: NADC Burger Bar offers a fantastic culinary experience with some room for improvement in service and layout. I hope this review helps this local burger place because they honestly deserve a chance to shine. If you go during peak times, be prepared to get your food to go. Despite the service issues, the food is...
Read moreI can finally say I have my goto burger place in Austin, not only is the menu simple, it's great! You get one type of burger: 2 juicy wagyu patties with cheese, thin onions, special sauce, jalapeños, and nice soft buns to accompany it deliciousness!! No customizations, makes it easier for them to crank out the food, i get it!! Now, after finishing off the burger, you can easily feel like you could have had another, but you really don't, just let things settle a bit. And if you go for their delicious ice cream vanilla sugar cookie sandwich, I can almost assure you u will need a nap 😉 The customer service is great, seating maybe not so but if you are patient enough, places to stand or sit happen pretty quickly. I think that if folks treat it like an EV charging station, get what you need and vamoose, it makes the waiting experience not too bad for everyone. This place is a must try, I can't wait to go back!! It is a bit pricy, but I don't have any issues with my favorite new Austin Burger!!
They were closed for a bit, renovation of some sorts. They are back open now and crazy as it sounds, tastes even better than the first time!! It's not as crowded after lunch, but I'm not complaining. I got to peacefully take my time and enjoy my burger. If you have not tried them yet, please do yourself a favor and try them out!!!
Came after Xmas 2024 and i appreciate the quality here always being the same. They even let you customize the burger now!! Now my wife can have it the way she likes it,no sauce...
