Liz is an absolute legend. For weeks, I've been suffering super tight knots in my upper back, particularly in the rhomboid major/trapezius area (due to sitting at a desk all day and poor posture). I am generally dissatisfied with wimpy Swedish massages, and sometimes even the typical deep tissue massages don't quite cut it for me.
I saw on their website "trigger point therapy," and it sounded very promising. Booking it online was super easy, and they have a generous cancellation policy of 4 hours. But trust me... You do not want to cancel because this will be the best thing you do all week.
My appointment was at 845, so I arrived a little early to find that they weren't open until 9 am, so I waited outside for a few minutes. There is plenty of street parking so be prepared to pay for that.
The interior is decorated in a quintessential Austin fun quirky style with architecture themes (name of the establishment noted). As a new client I only had to fill out a short form. Liz asked me what areas I wanted to focus on, and was brilliant in finding my problem areas. Her massage technique was strong, intentional, and yet somehow relaxing... I almost fell asleep near the end!
If you have a particular problem condition you want dealt with and typical "spa" massages don't quite cut it - this is a sign to just DO IT! Book with Liz you will...
Read moreIf you are looking for a place to get real “work” done — this is it! I went to various local spas for years, but got a little tired of the same old experience and needed something more. I don’t usually get a massage just to relax, I need it to help correct issues in my low back and neck/shoulders. There is no spa water or bathrobes on offer here, but you will leave feeling amazing and that’s primarily because the therapists really listen to you.
I’ve had three sessions at F+F — 2 with Kenia and 1 with Kat. All were great experiences: both were easy to talk to, focused on the issues I outlined, and used targeted massage techniques that were very effective. Kenia debriefs you afterward, suggesting stretches and other things you can do to keep the problems at bay.
The studio is small and clean, and I love that you can book online with the therapist of your choice and that this place is centrally located with lots of street and garage parking nearby. The rates are very reasonable, and I recommend the CBD add-on since it’s so affordable. I’ve loved that each time the music playlists the therapists selected wasn’t something you would normally hear in a spa! My only real constructive feedback I would be that when the AC comes on in the rooms it can get quite chilly on the beds — Not something that will keep me from...
Read moreMy husband and I train Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai and we're looking for a place that could give us the true muscle and joint treatments we need. As a former massage therapist myself, I know there is a huge variance in style within the massage practice.
I found Form and Function online and they had in depth descriptions of each therapist which helped us determine a good fit for each of us. We booked 2 hour massages with Kenia and Katie and WE ARE NEVER GOING ANYWHERE ELSE. Both ladies gave us exactly what we were looking for and I have never had a better nights sleep in my life. We immediately scheduled another massage for a month out.
The location is small and quaint. They offer nice add ons like warm eye masks, hand held warmers for your shoulders, CBD, etc. They also have cute boutique items for sale up front. The owner has created a healthy working environment for the therapists as she is a therapist herself and understands how taxing the work is. They are limited to 5 hour shifts and as someone who was run into the ground as a therapist in my earlier days, I very much respect that.
We can't wait to go back and are so grateful it was money well spent. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place for...
