Chicken was ok, we had to take it to go even though we asked to eat it there. The service was really bad. I got off working a double and my boyfriend wanted to treat me to some fried chicken and a beer and suggested happy chicks. No server greeted us, no smiles, just a “what do you want to drink” and “I need to see your ID” which we showed her & ordered our beers. She went off to help someone else so we took a look at the menus. I’ve never been there so it took us a minute to decide what to get, and we did change our minds and upgraded to the plate with all the sides (within 30 seconds of what we originally ordered, so it’s not like it was that inconvenient to change), and that’s when our waitress really started giving us attitude. Mind you, I have never been in this place, it was loud and she had a face mask on, so it was difficult to hear her verify that we upgraded to another meal and not just added a second meal, so when we asked her politely what we ordered she talked to us literally like we had two brain cells. She was horribly rude and angry. Once again we asked if we could order drinks (at this point we have already spoke to her twice so we should’ve gotten our beers), and she paused and jokingly/ sarcastically said “no” and left. We both thought she was joking so we laughed and said “yeah we’re in the wrong part of town for that!” But when she came back with our food in a to go bag (we ordered dine in) we were shocked. She said she’s ready to close our tab whenever we’re ready. Confused, I asked another bartender if we missed last call (it was 10:30 pm), and she said “no we refuse to serve people who are already intoxicated.” All I could say in that moment was “wait WHAT?” and she said “ yeah we were told not to serve you guys” (At least she told us though right?) I was completely thrown off guard because we were both sober, and were shocked and offended at their rudeness and the fact that our waitress thought we were so messed up she talked to us like children and refused to serve us without any explanation. I knew I probably looked bad after working 12 hours, but that is no way of treating a customer no matter what they look like. I heard her complain about a group of African American folks to the point they left and she just started whining to her coworker about wanting to go home. As a manager I know that no one should have that attitude at work, you put on a smile and take care of the people who walk through those doors. It was just a horrible atmosphere to be in and our bartender did not care for us or anyone else at the bar, so we thanked her and left. Now I know if I ever come back I can’t wear a t shirt / no make up or look tired because I will just look too f*cked up for one beer or to...

My recent visit to your restaurant left me feeling 𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 due to the 𝐮𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 behavior [𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬] of your staff and the lack of clear directions for picking up food orders.
First and foremost, I was appalled by the conduct of one of your waitresses [White, female, 20-30 years of age]. During my visit, I made a quick stop at the kitchen area to inquire about my food order. Instead of politely addressing my query, the waitress rudely ordered me to leave the kitchen immediately. Such behavior is completely 𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 and 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 to paying customers.
The main issue I encountered was the lack of proper directions for order pickup. After being instructed by the door host that my order was "in the back," I proceeded towards the back of the restaurant. To my dismay, there were no clear signs or indicators to guide me towards the designated area for order pickup. The only sign visible was for the restrooms.
This lack of signage and guidance left me wandering aimlessly, trying to find where I was supposed to pick up my food.
As a paying customer, I believe that basic hospitality and clear instructions are the bare minimum expectations from any restaurant. Unfortunately, my recent visit to Happy Chicks [Austin Chicken Sandwich] failed to meet these expectations.
Both the food delivery company and the customer who ordered the food were informed of this experience. I will cancel any food order that is being ordered from this restaurant.
Another tall delivery driver received his order at the kitchen door with no problems. I was the only one told to leave. Not sure why she told me to leave.
That particular waitress needs communication lessons and definitely in need of good manners. Not sure where she has grown up to show that much disrespect...
Read moreI am giving this a 1 star, because this was the worst service I have ever had. My friend and I sat at the bar where there were only 2 men sitting there. She did not greet us initially, but when she did come over, we attempted to place our order, but she seemed very angry to take our order in person. She wanted us to use our phones to download the menu and pay, however, our phones would not download the menu to pay. She continually played with her hair and did not wash her hands. At one point, she sprayed cleaning stuff next to us while we were eating and did not wipe it down for 15 min, leaving us inhaling the toxic fumes. Our glasses were empty for over 10 min, we had to flag her down for more coke and we were sitting at the bar. She did not notice our glasses were empty, because she is constantly playing with her hair and complaining. I also overheard her complaining to two men at the bar that people don’t tip her 🤔. She did give us coke to go after we asked her for it, but it tasted terrible and was not coke. She also did not wear a mask to help prevent the spread of Covid. On the other hand, the food was great, but the service from the bartender was horrible and unsanitary. It is always nice when your bartender/server wash their hands hands regularly, especially after grooming and is observant to their customers wanting to place an order and/or...
