Curbside pick up was awesome! Loved it. So fast & efficient! I waited less than 2 min.! Spareribs were perfection, moist brisket was delicious, & my 1/2 lb. prime rib was overcooked ( I asked for rare-as-possible... didn't happen). Sadly, I got a notice that my order for 3:15 was ready at like 1:40. I was hoping this was a mistake... but no. They were too on the ball today. The meat was lukewarm when I picked up at 3:05.😟 Ended up giving the prime rib to my outrageously lucky dogs when I got home, only because it got hot during my travels around town & getting home, despite being placed in a cooler bag (couple hours of running around Austin in 95°+ will do that). It just wouldn't have been human safe as hot as it got. Just wish it had been more rare (tender) & warm when I got it. I'd have eaten it on the spot, if it was. I know I drooled when I saw it, but was disappointed when I took my only bite. I do recommend Rudy's sause ( I'm on Keto so I only tried a small taste), spareribs, & moist brisket!! Just not the prime rib, unless you're there in person to ask for your doneness preference!

There are many barbecue chains in Austin, but Rudy’s is the best. All their barbecue meats are excellent, but their sides are really special. I and particularly love the creamed corn, which sometimes is enough to get me to go here instead of another barbecue place. Their green chili stew is also excellent, and I think it’s made from brisket and chicken along with some vegetables and chilies. The potato salad is very good, as is the three bean salad. They have a fun hand washing machine that shoots out jets of whirling soapy, water, that is probably not as effective as just washing your hands with soap and water, but kids like it, and It’s probably better than getting barbecue sauce all over the handles of the sink from peoples greasy hands! Is Rudy’s as good as a place like Franklin? Definitively not, but you also don’t have to wait in line for three hours, and if you feel like getting barbecue at 9:30 in the evening, Rudy’s will be open, where is Franklin will probably have been closed for six hours already. Despite the fact that it’s a chain, they have still maintained their quality.

I'm a huge Rudy's fan. When other BBQ enthusiasts downplay Rudy's BBQ, I'm always quick to point out the solid, consistent BBQ, fun, lively atmosphere, and great value. For first-timers, it's a wonderful introduction to Texas BBQ experience. We always take our out of town guests here, and we love going here just the same!

Food: Order the "extra moist" brisket, a half link of sausage, and wash it down with some sweet tea. Also, save room for the peach cobbler with Blue Bell ice-cream! If you're into sides, we love the cream corn and new potatoes, which is like buttery bite size pieces of potato. So tasty!

The service here has been friendly and excellent as of late. A few months back, I did have bad experience that was not like the friendly Rudy's experience that my family has come to enjoy, but the management handled it with grace and professional tact. Honestly, that manager is the sole reason why I gave this location another shot. My experience today was stellar, and I can't wait to enjoy this Rudy's location for many years to come! We had such a wonderful time this evening!

This Rudy's location also features a nice separate dining area that I'm assuming you can reserve or rent as well for group events.

Also worth mentioning: The bus boy staff here is superb. Very attentive and kindly offered to help our family with the high chair. It didn't...
