This restaurant wasn't all it's cracked (or should I say "hyped") up to be. This past Sunday, our family headed a little over an hour (from Killeen) to celebrate our daughters 27th birthday. We waited less than 30 minutes (which is great for a Sunday brunch) yet when we walked up in the place, the music was so loud, I truly thought we had stepped up in the club. We found it so odd that the music was so loud during brunch time.
Literally, we had such a tough time communicating to the waitress that we all kept having to shout, just because we couldn't hear each other. I will say, the food came out pretty fast after we placed are order but, once I saw and tasted the food, I knew right away it was not authentic "Mexican" food-just your typical Tex-Mex joint. A bit disappointed to say the least.
First, we ordered the Salsa Sampler for starters and drinks. I felt most of the salsa's lacked either flavor or salt. They also put a (weird) tasting seasoning on the tortilla chips that we didn't care for. I ordered the chilaquiles, which came with a red sauce; however, I didn't know the "red sauce" was chipotle based. Not a fan, I was looking forward to actual fresh chiles (such as guajillo's for example) not that "canned" stuff. Also, the menu mentioned "refried beans" but it came with flavorless black beans instead (what happened to good ol' refried pinto beans?) VERY MISLEADING!
As for my husband, he ordered the Enmoladas Verdes, which I enjoyed more than mine. The green mole was good, but the shredded chicken was dry, with hardly any flavor to the meat at all. The charro beans were alright. Don't even get me started on the rice. SMH. I will say the only thing that was very good, was the pink Waffles our grand-daughter order. She also loved how the pink whipped cream and lots of fruit. Our daughter order the birria tacos. They were good, but not great.
HEADS UP PARENTS, they do not have much of a kids menu, the only thing they offer is a cheese quesadilla. WACK!
Ahhhh...now onto the drinks! The El Chapo y Kate mix drink was strong and delicious! The Mimosa was weak. :(
Lastly, the service. Our waitress hardly checked on us. We really didn't see much of her. She wasn't taking care of that many tables, so it was a mystery where she kept disappearing to? Hey, but at least we finally got the check. Seriously, thought about dashing the place. I mean...who would notice anyways?
Overall, this spot was not worth the $90 dollars we spent, plus tip. They lack full descriptions on their menu. You can't seem to ever find your waitress. I honestly think TikTokers only amped up this place mostly for the color pink and the "Tacos before Vatos" backdrop, because other than this, the food and service is...
Read moreFriday, August 11, 2023 two of my best friends decided to take me out for my birthday. They've never been to tequero mucho and being that I brag on the establishment so much, we decided to go there well I've never experienced horrible service like I had that night. There was only a handful of people in the restaurant. The waitress was very rude and I think races. Everything that one of my best friends asked for she overlooked everything I asked for she brought back every time we called her to the table to order something she took forever to come and then when she did come, her response was they were either out of the item and the kitchen was about to close. Need to remind you we got there about 10ish so we had way more than enough time to order food so she takes our order and she takes it back to the kitchen and places it so when she brings our food out, she informs us that there is no rice and no beans so we ask is there any other side dishes? She says no but that she can compensate us with some shots we ask her is there anyway she can take something off the bill because we did not receive all of our food she stated she needed to go ask the manager which was fine. My issue is for $138 and she also received a $10 tip that was genuinely from the heart. I've never experienced this type of service before now I called back the next day, and I spoke to the manager named juice I tell him my experience and then I do not wanna be compensated for anything and I do not want nothing free that I just wanted him to know that all it takes is a word of mouth. He insisted that I take a $25 gift card and 50% off on my next visit. Once again I told him I did not want anything for free that I was just calling to let him know about the horrible experience that I received and for $138, I didn't find that appropriate so on Saturday me and my best friend decided to take up the offer on the $25 gift card and a 50% off we go into the restaurant and walk to the bar and ask for the manager his name is Art. This is the same gentleman that was there the night that I experienced the horrible service so I explain to him that the manager left something for me he starts being rude and says he does not know what I'm talking about. I said that was fine and I left. I love Gabrielas and her sister restaurant I even advocated for them for Gabriella's because I thought tequero mucho was copywriting their drinks when they first open until I found out they were sister restaurants so for me to experience that type of service is heartbreaking And yes, this is a long paragraph now with that being said, I hope this issue gets taken care because at this point I don't want to go back to this establishment with this...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant yesterday for a friend’s birthday party. I was okay with the 1 hour + wait because it was a Saturday night. That’s understandable. What shocked me was that when they DID seat us, there weren’t enough seats for our party. Not only was our party split across the restaurant, but me and my husband had to share this tiny little chair, and a couple of other friends had to share too. We were squished, and I was pregnant at the time, and practically falling off. We asked 3 different employees if we could get just ONE more chair, and 2 out of 3 told us “Sorry, but those chairs are for other tables who are waiting.” They could’ve at least made sure we had enough chairs for our table before seating us! We did eventually get our extra chair, I’ll give them that. The food was mediocre at best. My carnitas tacos had no flavor, even with the fixings, and I had to verify my strawberry lemonade was non-alcoholic because it tasted so weird! My husband could vouch for me that for the times we waited, and the service we got, the food was not worth it. I could get better tacos from Taco Bell! The only redeeming quality was the queso. That was pretty good! Employees were definitely too focused on the bar to tend to other customers, and the table behind us who were clearly drunk, began causing a ruckus, lap dancing in front of children! NOT a family friendly place. Nobody did anything about it either, and I was suffering from second hand embarrassment! All in all, we definitely won’t be back...
