I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience at Tony's Jamaican Food Truck in Austin, a hidden gem that transported me to the beautiful island of Jamaica. As a vegetarian, I was a bit skeptical about trying a Caribbean food truck, but Tony's exceeded my expectations in every way.
From the moment we arrived, Tony made us feel like family. He greeted us with a warm smile and asked about our dietary preferences, making sure to recommend the best options for our group. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Irish moss, which was hands-down the best I've ever had. The creamy texture and subtle sweetness were perfectly balanced, and I could taste the love and care that went into making it.
What truly impressed me, however, was the speed and efficiency of the service. We ordered a large quantity of food, and Tony had it ready in less than 10 minutes. The quality of the food was exceptional, with generous portions and flavors that were both bold and authentic.
As a vegetarian, I was pleased to find that Tony's had a variety of options that catered to my dietary needs. The vegetarian dishes were just as flavorful and satisfying as the meat-based options, and I loved the fact that Tony was happy to accommodate our requests and make modifications to suit our tastes.
My friends, who are meat-eaters, were equally impressed with their dishes. We ordered a large variety of food, including jerk chicken, beef patties, and curry goat, and every single dish was a hit. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the seasonings were perfectly balanced.
What I loved most about Tony's, however, was the sense of community and warmth that permeated the entire experience. Tony and his team were like a big, happy family, and they made us feel like we were part of the crew. The prices were also very reasonable, making Tony's an excellent value for the quality and quantity of food you receive.
Overall, I would highly recommend Tony's Jamaican Food Truck to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Caribbean meal in Austin. The Irish moss is a must-try, and the vegetarian options are just as flavorful and satisfying as the meat-based dishes.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreTony's food truck doesn't have to worry about me coming back. I have been here in the past and loved the food and customer service. But today blew my mind. Imagine giving your order to somebody that is acting like you are inconvenience to their day. I'm use to the person smiling taking the order. I wanted to leave, my daughter and mom convinced me to stay. We placed our order than went and sat at the picnic table. We couldn't hear each other talk because the music was too loud. That might explain why nobody else was there. After about 15 minutes, some woman opened the back door of the truck and very rudely screamed at us that our food was ready. We tried to eat there but because of the obvious, we couldn''t. We ended up eating at a park. I was very disappointed with the food I received. The curry goat was dry and tasted like it had been sitting for days. The plantain tasted like it was fried in very old oil. The cabbage didn't have any flavor. My mom had ordered the oxtail and she wasn't satisfied with her meal either. She said it tasted like they put new and old oxtail in the pot, some meat was fall off the bone in one bite and in another it was not as tender. My daughter had the jerk chicken and was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI grew up with a Jamaican grandma and Trini aunty so I have high expectations for authentic Jamaican cuisine. I arrived on a weekend afternoon and I order two beef patties an oxtail and curry goat combo plate and a jerk chicken and curry goat combo plate with the cocoa bread on the side. I would have gotten the Roti too but unfortunately they were out. Everything came out to about 40 bucks which isnāt bad for Jamaican food in Texas! Places in DFW would charge you at least $60. The very nice lady at the front was welcoming and provided that genuine Jamaican service. The beef patty was very flaky and full of flavor. I would have liked to have a bit more meat but thatās a good complaint. The curry goat was seasoned to perfection and very tender. The oxtails were meaty, seasoned well, had a bit of sweetness, and the gravy was not oily either. The rice and peas was delicious, very moist, and they add plenty of gravy. My only complaint is that the Jerk chicken was a little dry and could have been spicier. If you are not familiar with Jamaican food I would give this place a try. I will definitely...
