Today we visited Rosalie's pizza. The establishment is owned and operated by a local couple in Bar Harbor, Maine. We parked behind the pizza place in one of the three parking spaces. When we returned to our car someone had parked behind us and blocked us in. They were not only blocking us, but also blocking the street as well. We went in to see if Whitney(the owner) knew who had parked there or if she could help us. Instead she starting yelling and insulting us. She told us "her cook" who appeared to be her husband had parked his Subaru there and he was busy and that they would NOT be moving the car. She said it was her parking spot and we got what we deserved. I explained to her that there was not a "no parking sign" or anything even resembling that for those three spots and I thought it was pizza parking. We are not from here and again no signs at all. We again asked politely for her to move the car and she just flat our refused. We ended up having to call the police to get them to move the car. Even after the police officer told them to move the car, the man owner came out and yelled at us again for no reason. I have no idea why they don't just hang up a sign if they don't want customers to park there. Business must be so good that these people can be rude to whomever they want and it just doesn't matter. There was a line out the door and she just screamed at us with everyone one of them just looking at her. Pizza was decent, but not even worth a review only the behavior of the...

The place is famous for pizza and would find crowded most of the time. But if it is crowded, I would advise to take a U-TURN and find something else if really hungry because the management is not good and cashiers do not understand when to really limit on taking the orders. My experience, when ordered for a dine in pizza, I was told 50 mins wait time, which was okay, because of them being really busy, but the pizza didn’t come in 50 mins, rather took about 75 mins. That is a really long wait for one pizza. I experienced that there were so many other frustrated customers too because of the way the team was managing taking orders and serving all of us. Ridiculous customer service on the delivering what’s ordered. They even didn’t find our order when it close to 50 mins and we first asked them about it. Anyways, just be ready for long waits if still dining in, but to the management, rather than giving a different excuse every time, I would encourage to step up and help the customers who are dining in and waiting for long time on there order. Someone should be at the door to manage the traffic. Very poor overall experience. Came in store around 7:40 PM, ordered pizza around 8:07 PM, got the pizza on the table at 9:25 PM, and we left the restaurant around 9:45 PM. Overall, 2 hrs to...

Food: I was truly disappointed by the food. The food SMELLS good from outside the restaurant, but that’s about it! The garlic bread wasn’t garlic bread. Putting butter and a few chopped up pieces of garlic on a white bun isn’t garlic bread. What was much worse was the undercooked, wet calzone. You can tell they rush their cooking because of the sheer volume of customers. The first several bites of the calzone was just dough! The filling inside was flavorless. They try to show off as a true Italian restaurant with their Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin photos, and their deep red and green decor, but I promise you as an Italian American myself that what they make is NOT the flavorful, rich Italian food you want it to be. They make Nonna Rosalie want to roll in her grave with the way they cook their sub-par food!

Service: Cashier didn’t greet me when I walked up to order even though she clearly saw me approaching and when I walked up, she immediately put her head down and ignored me. Finally, once she greeted me, I gave my order, but at that point the service was already feeling sub-par and as if all the tourists were the reason why the staff wasn’t friendly.

Atmosphere: Italian pictures and decor make it...

I’ve been coming to Rosalie’s over many years but had not recently been back until September 2023. I really enjoyed the pizza. We ordered a large combination pizza for 2 people which we knew was more than enough, but we wanted to take some home. It easily fed us for 2 nights. The pizza had onions, green peppers, pepperoni, mushrooms and hamburger. The crust is thin to medium and crispy. More like an Italian pizza. I thought the crust was very good. Plenty of vegetable toppings and hamburger, could have used a bit more pepperoni. In general a really good pizza, crisp crust but not hard and it was not greasy nor dry. Cooked well. You find a table and place your order at the counter and your pizza is brought to your table when ready. Self serve on plates, napkins and utensils. They offer beer, wine and soda. Kind of a throwback to the way it was here in Bar Harbor. Not fancy tables or booths. Reasonably priced for this area. Under $35 for a large with some drinks. Service can be sparse as you order yourself. Someone asked if we needed a box with the enthusiasm of a sea urchin. Par for the course nowadays.

I had seen the high traffic and smelled the pizza being cooked the day before when walking downtown. So when I didn’t feel like grilling at the campground I immediately thought of them. I was willing to drive the 25 minutes because I thought I was going to get a great meal. I ordered a chicken parmigiana sub. What a disappointment. Hands down this had to be the worst chicken parmigiana sub ever it’s really hard to screw up a chicken parmigiana sub, but they did it. Look at the pictures, almost no chicken, very small overall sub. With the amount of business they get, I’m surprised they would allow this to be served. I don’t ever post reviews, but this was disgraceful. Hope this info and pictures help someone else. Oh and don’t forget to take someone with you due to the no existing parking. This is not their fault, but send someone in to get the food while you circle the block. Regards, Jim

Our family of 8 was visiting Acadia National Park near Bar Harbor and asked a park ranger as well as a.i. where we should eat dinner. Both the ranger and the a.i. recommended Rosalie’s Pizza and they did not steer us wrong! The whole family loved the pizza and the atmosphere. Upstairs was a bit less crowded and busy so it was perfect for sitting down with our large family while we waited for our pizzas. We were on a schedule so we got our pizzas to go. The food was great and we would definitely recommend it and would go there again if we were in the area. We travel all over the country eating at different restaurants so we know a thing or two about great food and dining experiences. If you’re in Bar Harbor or the area be sure to check this one out.
