4 stars alone for the cannolis which are out of this world, if it wasn’t for them this would have got 3 stars.
The place is cute inside and has about 5 small tables to sit at. They used to be closed at 7 but now are open to 8. We got meatball platter which comes with 4 meatballs and bread, ziti, chicken parm sandwich and 2 cannolis. Came to $44. The food was ready right away and the pick up was easy. Chicken parm had no cheese on it. Maybe that’s the way they make it but it’s weird to have a parm sandwhich without gooey mozzarella. The bread lacked flavor. The sauce was good. The meatballs are were good. They were big, plump, tasty. But nothing special. Ziti was a nice portion but it tasted like stinky cheese to me.
The cannolis are huge!!! Filled with cream. Super crisp, yummy shell and the cream is rich, creamy and not too sweet. One had chocolate chips on it and the other didn’t. I guess I have to specify if I want chocolate chips or not. I actually liked the one without chocolate chips the best because it was just idk so creamy and I can focus on tasting the cream.
I would come back here and try the soup since I hear it’s good, skip everything else and just get a...
Read moreI don’t know where to begin because EVERYTHING we had was so out-of-this-world delicious!
The soup was herby, generously filled with shredded, tender, and juicy chicken and the flavor can honestly only be experienced, not described. Whatever you’re ordering, I highly recommend trying this also!
The chicken parm is honestly the best chicken parm I’ve had in a while. A simple dish, but most places get it wrong and it just comes out very boring. This parm though was so flavorful and the sauce struck that perfect balance of tangy with a hint of sweetness.
And finally, the star of the show, the focaccia…best I’ve ever had. Hands down. It was fluffy, flavorful, and the sauce on top once it has been baked is insanely addictive.
They also have some Italian sodas that were delightful!
I cannot wait to order from here again. And thank you to the owner for being so friendly and helpful while I was ordering. They take great pride in their food, as...
Read moreVery, very good. Great quality ingredients and perfectly seasoned. I’ve tried the Eggplant Parmesan, Chicken Parmesan (very tender and delicious) and Meatballs (which were especially soft and juicy; unlike most of the meatballs in the other Italian pizzeria/restaurants in Bayonne). The owner will give you the mains as a sandwich on a really tasty roll) or as a platter (also with a roll on the side). And all for $12.00 for good-sized portions. Also tried the broccoli rabe, asparagus and ziti. Everything is a step above all the local Italian places in Bayonne. I can’t recommend The Sicilian Guy highly enough; worth the trip if you’re not in town. I’ve been coming back a couple of times every week since the opening of the new storefront. Give it a try. You won’t be...
