I had previously been to another Ron's location and expected them to have the same menu's at both locations. They don't. At first my boyfriend and I were very agitated bc their menu had maybe 6 appetizer choices and 6 sandwich choices. I don't remember if there were dessert options or not. But we decided to go ahead and try it anyway. I'm so glad we did. We ordered the fried mushrooms and marinated steak sandwiches. The mushrooms were probably in the top 3 of the best I've ever had. I am pretty sure they dried the mushrooms after rinsing and before battering them. But whatever they did, the result was perfection. They were not dry at all and it brought ought the natural flavors of the mushrooms so I didn't feel like I was just eating fried batter. Now the marinated steak sandwiches come with horseradish but I subbed ranch bc I cannot eat anything remotely spicy. (Note my bf had the horseradish and said it was so good!) The ranch tasted homemade and again the combo of seasoning they used was delicious. Idk what they did to they bun but it was so fresh and soft on the inside with a slight crispness to the crust just like it is supposed to have. The veggies were fresh and actually tasted like veggies and not paper like at some places. Now about the steak?!?!! WOW WOW WOW. Sooo tender! I tasted a piece of it before I tried my sandwich and I would have been happy eating just that by itself. It's been 3 days since we went and my taste buds are still thanking me. And best of all our waiter/bartender was so entertaining. His personality was great and he was so funny. I honestly felt like I was sitting at a friend's house watching the game and my bf tipped him $20 (which was twice the amount of our bill thanks to Groupon) bc he was so good. Cannot wait till we are back in the area to visit again. If you don't visit this place you need your head examined.
Just a suggestion to whoever is in charge of the menu add some loaded steak fries to your appetizers using that marinated steak and serve with choice of ranch...
Read moreWe have been here other one other time and decided to check this place out after getting a Groupon again. There's a lot of pros to this place, it's a little hole in the wall bar and the atmosphere is great. Our first time there we got to talk to the owner and he gave us good drink suggestions and we had a wonderful time. This time was a little different though, we ordered an appetizer it took around 25 minutes to get it. So as soon as we brought it we decided to order food, which came a little quicker. What really irritated me though is our waitress had a big party she was taking care of and was impossible to get a hold of. We asked her for our check and started to pull out our Groupon, she was immediately pulled away from us by other server and she just walked off! No, hey I'll be right back nothing. Another 15 minutes pass, and she brings us our check places it on the table and then runs back to her party, we are still trying to talk to her and get Togo boxes, but clearly she was to busy with her big party to give us the time of day..lucky for us another server saw what was happening after her customers pointed it out and she took care of us. It just wasn't a great second experience. The food however was decently good until I woke up in the middle of the night sick with food poisoning. So I don't think we will be going back after all that. I hate to post a negative review and I almost never do, but that was...
Read moreI got here to have a drink because a friend is celebrating his birthday tonight here. I intended on having one drink for sure and possibly a second so I paid cash with my first drink incase I passed on the second. We were sitting outside but before I finished my beer we moved inside. The move inside made me decide I would have a second beer. I decided when my beer was gone it was time to go get the next/last. I get to the bar and the bar tender snubly asks "did you come from the back?" To which I say "yes." Then he says "do you know we have a server back there?" I say I do and then he snubly again says "yeah we love cashing out a million times" as though my second transaction was just way too much work. He then looks at another patron and shakes his head and says to him "it's getting too hot in here" as he sets a menu in front of me and moves his hand as to display it to me sarcastically and then turns around upset. I didn't ask for a menu as I was looking at what was on tap. When I decided I called him and gave my order. He poured it unhappily and set it in front of me and took my money and turned back around like he was glad that transaction was over as if it were some extreme level of effort. What a great bartender. If you don't like your job get another one. And I still...
