Service killed it for me- Food was decent but they got my order wrong, I waited a long time to be sat even though the restaurant was empty, and then I had to wait at least fifteen minutes for a server to come to my table (again, completely empty restaurant). When the server came to my table he brought a water and laid down the menu and didn’t say a word and walked off. Didn’t ask what I wanted to drink or anything even when he came back and picked up my menu. He simply said “ready?” As he was walking up to the table And I said “yes” and he walked off with my menu before I could tell him my order. My order was wrong and he brought me an extra roll that I didn’t order. It was on the same plate that my roll was on so I didn’t realize until he had walked away. I informed him I didn’t order the roll when I saw it on my check and he proceeded to reach across and open my to go box to make sure I didn’t take any of the roll with me. He also tried to convince me I had ordered the roll (I’m allergic to crab and I hate fish so I only order a cucumber roll EVERY time. So I know for a fact I didn’t accidentally order this) It felt very intrusive, rude, and weird. Overall, horrible service...
Read moreWe used to come to the one here in Bend all the time until the one in Redmond opened. We have been going to the new one in Redmond since it opened as it is closer to home. However yesterday we were in Bend so decided to stop at the one in Bend. When we walked in the place was almost dead which we found to be rather strange since it was usually busy at noon. Once we were seated, we waited and waited and waited for someone to come and ask what we would like to drink with our meal. I finally took the drastic approach of turning around in my chair and facing the help trying to catch someone's eye. It was pointless. They were more interested in chatting up a group of pretty young girls sitting in another area or sipping they glasses of water or soda or whatever they were drinking. Finally after 10 minutes of being ignored, we got up and left. They saw us walk out and could have cared less. We drove back to Redmond and ate at the one there. No problems. We will not be returning to this one again. We will stick with the...
Read more‘Twas the night before Veterans Day, and all the townspeople were hidden indoors; for the weather had turned cold and gloomy. We found our way into a quaint sushi parlor near downtown called Sora sushi. When we opened the door, we saw not one person was dining in. At first it was an ominous sight, but shortly one of the many chefs sat us down and we soon felt right at home. Almost as if we had hot tub time machined our way back to the early 50’s in Japan. I spent the better part of the summer on the ocean fishing for the very tuna we’d be eating tonight. Early morning and late nights on the ocean, miles from nowhere. Dangerous work it is. Rocking in the waves, splashing over the deck, and I’m back there hand-lining thousands of blast grade tuna. Praying I won’t get swept into the abyss. It seems it was all worth it. Sora really outdid themselves with this sushi tonight. I’d give it a try. It’s nice we can all break bread now one nation under God. God Bless America, and God bless...
