AV BAR & NIGHTCLUB — Restaurant in Big Bear Lake

Place smelled like pee. Couldn't get any service or acknowledgement at the bar. Me and my friends went for a fun night out, felt completely unwelcomed upon arrival. Place has a racist vibe. Stood at the bar for 20 minutes no service. There was 7 bartenders working, 5 serving customers behind the bar. We tried standing at 2 different spots at the bar was completely ignored by the bartenders. They served customers next to us but not us. Acted as if we weren't there. Made effort to completely disregard and ignore us. My friend was able to get the attention of a bartender he made eye contact and looked at my friend then completely ignored him and asked the lady standing next to him, who had barely walked up what she wanted to drink. I believe it was because we were out of towners and because we were the only mexicans there. They made it clear they don't like people of color. Never going to this location ever again. Racist and unprofessional. Worst experience I had ever going out in general. Was surprised to experience that in California from other young people this day in age. You would think they would want the business. Big bear is a beautiful place but don't waste your time or money at this bar. If I could give zero...

If I could leave ZERO stars I would. As soon as I entered, I didn't like the atmosphere, so instead of ordering alcohol as the rest of my party did, I ordered water. After a few minutes I decided to step outside to wait for my party to finish. I stepped outside with my PLASTIC cup of what was clearly water and the security guard said I couldn't bring drinks outside. I said, it's just water," and held it up. He said, "it doesn't matter," and ripped the cup from my hand before I realized what was going on. Two or three pieces of ice flew out of the cup because of the vehemence with which he grabbed the cup. I told him he just assaulted me, and he responded by telling me I was "done," and was no longer allowed inside. I spoke with the security guard's "supervisor," but he seemed to be only pretending to listen to me, as he continually looked around instead of directly at me to show he was listening to what I had to say. I am appalled all around at my experience there. Avoid it...

I figured I’d leave a review , seeing so many negative reviews before coming to this bar. I was a little skeptical about coming when I seen the comments about people seeming to be racist, but I’m glad me and my boyfriend tried this place despite what we read. I’m here on a Wednesday night, they’re playing hip hop, the people and the staff are very sweet and it’s very clean! The bartender was a young lady who is very sweet & greeted us with a lovely smile. Instantly felt at ease. The manager, or who I believe was the manager, also checked on us to make sure we were good. I haven’t experienced the other bars but this one is the one to be at. It’s lit on a Wednesday , I can only imagine what it looks like on the weekend.
