Hey Hey Cupcake — Restaurant in Black Mountain

I have to leave 1 star, but would rather leave none. I called this woman over a week ago, asked if she could accommodate us for our vacation in October. Called well on advanced, and she said she could pretty much do anything. I said wonderful we will send you a picture of what we're looking for. (An LSU cake) Nothing major actually, and not alot of detail at all. She asked me to send the picture to the phone number we were speaking on. I did that, and haven't heard a single word back. Not an "okay I can do that" or "I'm sorry I won't be able to help you" absolutely nothing. I don't think you should be listed first for custom cakes, when you don't even care about your customers to even let them know you could or could not do the cake AFTER speaking with them already. We even offered to pay you the full amount up front, but we couldn't even get a response back. No cake is worth me having to chase someone around and beg them to take my money. You don't deserve it. That's horrible customer service, and I work in Gatlinburg TN, one of the busiest tourist destinations in the United States. We do not and would not EVER treat anyone traveling to our area this way. This woman asked for a picture and then never even acknowledged that I sent it, never responded or anything. Horrible customer service and basically says, "I don't care if I have customers or not". I'm also going to be posting this on social media, as I have a huge following. Have the weekend you deserve. Could not have been more perfect. I looked through their gallery of cakes and did not see one that was right for this occasion. Milestone birthdays for my wife and brother. The cake had to be great. I found a design I liked and sent it to them to see if they could recreate it. I wanted strawberry cake on the top layer and chocolate cake on the bottom layer. I left it to them to pick out the icing. The cake was an exact duplicate which was important to me, but better yet, it was delicious. Every single person at the party complimented me on the cake. Everyone was taking pictures of it. Hands down the strawberry was the favorite but the chocolate was delicious, moist and decadent. I visit the Asheville area 3-4 times a year from Cleveland, Ohio and have become a HUGE fan of Hey Hey Cupcake! I have celiac and have to avoid gluten. The gluten-free cupcakes here are amazing. I usually call ahead from Ohio so I can order myself a dozen - their carrot cake with cream cheese frosting are out of this world! I travel a lot and always visit gluten-free bakeries along the way. Hey Hey Cupcake hands down takes the cake for gluten-free flavor and texture. Every time I am in the area, I cannot wait to indulge!
